I finished Spirit Hunter: NG.
I think it was weaker than Death Mark. It's a bit hard to judge, since it might just be me haven gotten used to it, but it was a lot less creepier. The individual Spirits and their backstories were also not as weird/messed up. Only the Screaming Author chapter felt like it was on par with the ones from Death Mark.
Decent enough read but I expected a bit more.

You can check here. There is a guy by the name of enewt who has been doing his best to keep track of the queues for all the 30 series cards.
... no, not soon. It's been several months since anyone got the card I signed up for, the 3080 XC3 Black, was probably sometime back in August.
Ah yeah... I regret looking in here and finding out they are still a year+ behind on normal 3080's. Holy fuck. I always joked, "Nvidia will release 4xxx before 3xxx become readily available" but I mean... it's not looking like a joke anymore huh? 😓

I've had 3080 money stashed away for over a year now, literally just sitting on this money. And I just can't get one... >_<

Yeah... I've got a $1500 final check coming in from my last job, from PTO I never used before they benched me, and I was itching for something nice to spend some of that on. Oh well.

EVGA limited the queues that you can be in to two. Also they said that they are mainly getting stock on the "Ultra" cards now.

Edit: Actually scratch the XC3 Ultra Gaming 3080. That card hasn't moved since September 2020.

Started playing Half Life Alyx today, and it's pretty impressive how well the basic Half Life formula translated to VR so far and how well Valve supports the Quest 2. There's a couple of things where you can tell they wanted to have full finger tracking, but even with the more limited one available on the Quest 2, it still works pretty well.
Don't think I can do more than one hour long sessions at a time, though. Maybe I will look into upgrading the Quest 2 a bit, with the more comfortable backstrap, it does get a bit hard to wear when you near the one hour mark.

The MCU really is something else. Not only did most people in my theater know that No Way Home has 2 post credits scenes but they were willing to sit through the whole thing to watch that second scene.

Anyway, the movie is great. A full trilogy of great films.

Still having a great time with Tales of Arise but I hope it doesn't overstay its welcome.

Downunder.
Unfortunately I'm starting to get Yakuza fatigue, although it's probably my fault for playing them all back to back x_x
I didn't plan to play Yakuza over the weekend, but after your post, I'm a bit curious about how Yakuza 3 look like with HDR.

I put in 12 hours into it across two days since then... :flaregalaxycat:

As much as I enjoyed my time with it, I dislike the chase minigame and the pool minigame still left broken months after its release. Who said QLOC made good ports, again? :flare_think:

What's everyone favorite Pokemon game?
PocketMonster Black and White are just amazing!!!!!

I have played a lot of the other ones as well but I have not always finished them and stuff.

Here is my experience playing Pokemon games.

My first Pokemon game that I played was Pokemon Ruby I think (it was 3rd gen), it was not my copy but instead it belong to some one at my school that let me borrow it. I'm pretty sure that I gave it back to him. He also let me borrow Pokemon silver (I don't think i got very far in it). I just can't play gen 1 or gen 2 they just feel to old. The base game and all that stuff is not bad but there has just been Soo much QoL changes that they have made over the years that it's hard to tell people to try to play those games. I have tried multiple times and just gave up.

I didn't really own Pokemon games because my parents thought that Pokemon was the work of the devil. Some people may remember this from the early 2000s but that's how it was.

From what I remember by chance I happened to see a copy of Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Ruby on sale at a swapmeet for just $5USD each!!!!!!!! This was in 2010 and that's crazy Because both of those turned out to be legit copies and not pirated.

In 2011 I ended up buying Pokemon Black new in stores (I think it got it a few months after it released). I liked it and thought it was a good game.

I think it was in 2012 when I ended up buying Pokemon Ruby, and Pokemon Platinum. Both of those cost me like $20 each. Some person that I happened to know at the time just gave me their copy of HeartGold and Ruby as well (HG goes for a lot now and this person just happened to give it to me for free).

I also ended up buying Leaf green and Emerald but those ended up being pirated versions.

I also picked up Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Sun on their release dates. I only finished Pokemon Y but and didn't get far in Pokemon OR or Sun. I have Pokemon Sword but have not even started the game (it may have been a lot better that I should have just waited since they have a version of the game that includes the game and the DLC as one package for that.

Pokemon Back and White are by far the best Pokemon game of the pixel area. There are other elements that some older ones have that would have been nice touches but overall Gen 5 had the best QoL changes and showed what Gamefreak was capable of but then it sort of went down hill in a way and they are still playing catch-up.

I'm guessing that Gen 5 will be the next remake that they do and if so I would love it if it was so something like Octopath but it's not going to be that and instead it's going to be chibi stuff like with Gen 4.

Gen 5 just hits different for a lot of reasons.

But yeah welcome to "America"

Bought the Oxygen not included bundle.

Played 16 hours the last 2 days

Please send help.
Best I can say is: Uninstall it. NOW.

I was going to say "I played almost 100 hours of it before being able to stop"... but it's even worse with Steam saying I have 160 hours of playtime.

And that was in 2019. I know they added a lot to it since then.

Very good game that's also absurdly addicting. Get out while you can.... or just enjoy it because it's really fun :p

Sega had a wild way of just sampling media like this. I knew about the Kevin "Hello?" but didn't know the wholesale Home Alone rip they had going on.

I just am holding on to when we'll find where the HOTD1 "Hello gunman"(?) sound bite is from.

Pokemon Blue. I was already pretty old when it released, but it was still real neat as a new concept. I've been craving a return to basics, but Temtem are just too ugly.

2 days left.
This would have been my "get some stuff for the Deck" sale. :confounded-face:
...I might still buy some. It's been a hot minute since I got a new VN to read (also because I've been waiting for the Deck).
I'm particularly itching to get Baldr Sky and considering that it's like a 100 hour monster and there are no "big" sales between Winter and March (that's when I think I'll get my Deck) I might as well get it now and already start a bit :thinking-face:

There should be a Chinese New Year sale at the end of January, the discounts for that sales is pretty big too IMO.

These past few years, I've bought more from the CNY Steam sale than the proper winter sale, more discounts on games I actually want (for some reason).

I've also got Baldr Sky in my "to play" queue, owned it for a long ass time. The prospect of a future Steam Deck has absolutely kneecapped all progress in getting through my massive VN backlog, I always think "dang, I could be playing this relaxing in bed!"

By all means, buy accessories to make the experience more comfortable, but in my opinion VR should not be done in long sessions. It strains your eyes a lot and having that thing stuck to your face for long periods is super uncomfortable. My threshold is 30-40 mins or so. If I'm playing Beat Saber I can barely manage 3 songs or so before I get tired. I don't know how people do super long sessions of that or any VR game honestly.

I've never played a Pokemon game.

And probably never will.
Every few years I buy the Pokemon game and tell myself "This is the time I'll give it an honest attempt and try to see why this series is so popular".

It never happens.

The game looks and runs so incredibly bad even for the low spec hardware it's running on that I just cannot play it. It's crazy to me how a company as rich as the Pokemon company refuses to invest into making their flagship product a showcase for the platform. I guess they don't have to because they sell 20 million copies anyway, but man...

Yeah same for me. An hour tops is about what i can do/like to do in VR. Its a bit better with the Index as i find it a bit more comfortable than the Vive but its still not great for anything over an hour.

Gold (but moslty because it was the first one I owned and really played)
That said I haven't played pokemon since gen 3, althought i played a bit of the gen 2 remakes.

The one that had an aligator starter, can't remember which one was it. I believe it had some sort of tree blocking the way fairly early in the game.

So either Gold/Silver/Crystal or their remakes (since this company loves to remake their games).

I never played a Pokémon game either. I have no real reason as to why, I think I didn’t care about it at first and once there were too many games it felt too much to get into.
Same. Never saw the appeal. And it was on a Nintendo console too.

That's interesting to hear. It's been my very first session with a headset, side from trying some of the short demos that Quest 2 has. Hour long sessions aren't far removed from how I play normal games too, so not a big issue. I will see if a more comfortable headset might make the overall experience more comfortable.

One thing that surprised me is how easy it is to wear it with glasses. Assuming the glasses are clean, I really don't notice anything.

I have never played a Pokemon game. I think it came down to I was a bit too old for the games when they first released (ie I THOUGHT they where too kiddie for me at the time).

I have the most recent remaster/remake on my switch at the moment and I am hoping to have a bit of a play on it over the Christmas break.

I am also very tempted with Arceus as well.

Now that I am fully working and having a good paycheck, Im planning to pick a bunch of games Im gonna play in 2024.
It's a great feeling isn't it? Knowing you've got games tucked away for years to come (if ever) :D

re: Pokemon - i've only ever played Snap for the N64, so that one I guess.
