started spoofing my user agent on youtube and now it stopped being ass on firefox
Gimme dat, youtube is being a laggy memory hog of an asshole of a site lately.
I've wondered if changing agent may help but didn't know what to change it to.

Also, i may have spent 9 hours in XCOM2 recently but i have only played for 30 minutes.

The rest of the time may have been due to me working out how the mod launcher works and trying to configure it for the mod collections i've downloaded and transferred out of the workshop into local folders before i sussed out how it processes stuff.

oh well, i'm sorting it out now but really don't want to have to redownload the ever so slightly excessive amount of downloaded mods i have.
Luckily my transfer script kept a reference to the SteamID so i should be able to script reverse it back to workshop format if i have to but i think it's just the mod launcher not reading dependencies correctly and the game will be fine.

Now i know how it works i should be able to switch between modpacks when i want to. Stupid ADHD.

I bought more than I planned and may make a few more purchases. I added Our Adventure Guild and Atlyss.

Actually beat Mouthwashing and Arctic Egg, the first games I beat in a while. Started Threshold, but it may go on hold. Mouthwashing has amazing characters, but the story fell flat for me. Arctic Egg was more gamey, and a weird trip with lots of memorable quotes. Threshold has been a bit finnicky on Steam Deck, but might still push through.

Tempted by Bakeru, Drova, and Witchfire. Still wish the latest Shiren had even the slightest discount. Spike Chunsoft continues to make strange pricing decisions. I don't want to buy it and they pull another Natsu-Mon and 60% it off after no other major discount.

Thanks for that.
It confirmed what i did just after posting my reply to you and remembering that extension.
I downloaded the same extension, set it to domain specific for youtube but it was a dreadful laggy POS until i used "Linux / Firefox 30" and now it seems to be behaving. Choosing "Windows /Chrome" or "Windows/Edge" made things worse funnily enough. I even closed all the tabs and reopened youtube and bleh but so far it's behaving itself thinking i'm on linux.

edit: actually i;m using the extension by NTNinja not the one in that video but they seem the same. I'll try the one you use if this starts playing up again.

I kinda want to play FF16 so tried the demo. My aging 1080 Ti can run it at 1440p 60fps (with FSR and frame generation) but the constant hitches / stutter during camera movement is bad. Is this fixed in the final version?

The more reasonable move would be waiting for a bigger discount and playing it after a hardware upgrade. Maybe I should get FF7R instead.

If it's unreal engine then the stutters and hitches are a feature :D

If the stutters are due to shader caching then they should calm down after a while. If there's a benchmark try running that and seeing if it helps generate more shaders. Or see if Vulcan maybe using DXVK will help?

I watched the Digital Foundry review on the PC port and interestingly they can't explain the stutter, too. :ROFLMAO: It's not unreal so definitely something else.

Edit: oh looks like the constant stutter is gone in the final version but there are still stutters in some moments during gameplay and cutscene. Weird.

I know what the word means but what does this do in regards to yt?
makes the website you're browsing (in this case yt) think you're on chrome (or something else) instead than on firefox (in my case).

that said it's too soon so claim it worked, might just be that whatever was messing with my yt experience is temporarily fixed by what I did and was unrelated to spoofing the user agent

What's everyone looking forward to playing in Jan and Feb? There's a ton of stuff releasing and not enough time for it all.
Actually finishing games i stated this year (and even last year) like Starfield, Dragons Dogma 2, SW Outlaws, Indiana Jones, RDR Remaster, Plucky Squire... But i want to play Rebirth too and on Deck i want to tackle TR Remasters and Soul Reaver Remasters on Deck. Then in February I will play AC Shadows that I got cod for cheap months ago.

So basically I need 6 month vacation XD

Also I see that Valve is once again not doing anything and just taking money from developers while running casinos for kids according to the Internet.

Genshin will wrap up the 5.x story arc and I'm extremely curious what the fallout is going to be - do they start kicking off the "endgame" story, or stall until next year?
Star Rail 3.0 looks fanstastic. The teaser trailer genuinely feels like one of these opening narration cinematics in Souls games, lol.

Other than that I'll just be playing old games

I'm not too worried about Civ 7 performance, but I am worried about the launch day content/state of the game. I feel like I should just wait for the first 6 months to go by and then play it.
That is true, civ games have had pretty good and hits its prime with a couple of expansions. But still it’s always a pleasure to be there day one too.:)

...you folks play new games?

Joke aside, among all the releases I am excited for Tales of Graces f. Unlike the ToS ports, Bamco seems to actually put effort into this remaster. Don't think I will get it on day 1 ("huge library" duh), but I want to help spread the word.

On that note, are there any good wireless mechanical keyboards?
Plenty. Most newer mechanical keyboards have Bluetooth/2.4GHz/USB-C type connection. Some even has 8000mAh batteries.

Crafted a badge, got a sale card - can't sell it till Jan 4th..uh why?
There's a 7 day trade and market lock for any item obtained from the Steam market. So if you bought a card from the market to complete a badge, you would not be able to sell it or trade it for 7 days. If you craft a badge from that card, any item you get from it (wallpaper, emote, card) will inherit that 7 day lock.

Outside of Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin's Creed Shadows, Blade Chimera comes out on January 16 and Ender Magnolia hits 1.0 on January 23. Good times ahead for Metroidvania fans.

Honestly, absolutely nothing...
I'm pretty sure there'll will be a game that I don't know about yet that'll get my attention but as of now the closest thing to interesting for me might be Civ7 but, as it's customary since Civ4, I'm betting it'll be a broken mess on release that'll only get good/balanced after a couple of expansions, so it can wait.
Other than that, Avowed could be interesting if I hadn't played Outer Worlds before. After that trash fire the Obsidian name is worth less than nothing for me, plus what they've shown so far has been pretty horrible tbh.

More and more Im looking forward to building a new PC (first time build it myself too, mostly nervous about where all the cables are suppose to go).

I've had my PC for 8.5 years, depends on the availability of all the components I want, I can see myself closing to into 9 years with my current PC, longest period of time between a PC, so Im really looking forward to a new one. Only change I have done in those 8.5 year was buying an external ssd harddrive. (500gb).

The likelihood of me buying either of these at launch is pretty slim, but Assassin's Creed Shadows and The Stone of Madness.
What I'll probably end up playing instead is backlog stuff.
