but that's precisely HOW you climb the ladder ... good people just don't do this ... that's how capitalism is constructed

also - it doesn't matter what the people at the top want ... they all have to answer to shareholders and their sole responsibility is to make as much money as possible, no matter what
I don't necessarily agree that it's always true, but I can certainly agree about good people either being twisted or not making it in most cases.

Regarding your second point, that is if the company is publicly traded.

the vast majority are (i'd even throw epic in there as well ... even though Tim technically still owns a bit more than half of it)

... also why i'm glad volvo aren't

capitalism still sucks donkey balls, though

I don't disagree with you, I'm just pointing to nuances that mean that some corporations can still be looked at not as black monoliths of evil - which they more often than not are - but instead as human enterprises.

... yeah, the fact that both GBF games don't have PC announcements yet is... :face-with-cold-sweat:
Third-Party exclusives continue to be some real bullshit. (n)
iirc i read some interviews that Cygames are interested in /C for both games after PS launch

Has there been any news on an English language version of KATANAKAMI?

The game is launching this month, but Steam continues to only list Japanese language support.
probably waiting for next "whats coming to west" videoannouncement from Spike ... like that game that was leaked in Steam China presentation

Shame GBVS is month late but day 1.
Same with FFVIIRE with those dresses, wasn't interested at all but now we're talking.

I just wish they'd announce for PC already, but knowing ASW by the time it comes we'll have GBFV2 on the horizon.
Pretty much. Not gonna wait for it as we'll never know if it's this year or next.

I think I have found a good library-shelves overview now.

Games I wanna finish (SP games, games that have an ending, demos, betas, alphas)
Diverse (gaas games, neverending games, like Destiny, Warframe, DJMAX, Halo, Let It Die, MH World, fighting games, games not fitting in other categories)
Strategy
Roguelikes
Sandbox
VR - Play (for installed VR games)

GOG Galaxy 2 is therefore used to collect the games I have installed on MS Store/Game Pass (not working quite as Sea Salt isn't showing up), Origin, Uplay, EGS and Battle.net.

Steam is always open and logged on, but GOG is only open when I wanna play a game not on Steam.

I don't really have much of a problem with Galaxy 2, I just like the Steam library and stuff a lot more.

So Valve and CDPR are the only ones who are actually providing value to my PC gaming. The others are kinda "just there".

PlatinumGames going the Kickstarter route...

Supposedly the first thing they will be kickstarting is a port of Wonderful 101.

On the one hand, that'd be great, but with how trashy big kickstarters have been i worry

That won't end well, I hope I am wrong but this plan sounds shaky...

That's certainly interesting, if that means PC version, I'm probably in.

... for PS4 and Switch only

because that makes perfect sense
Sure, a KS but without all the versions, leaks not always are complete.

Gylt is now available free for Stadia Pro folks.

I managed to grab a buddy pass for free on r/stadia (I think it was) in december, cancelled the day I activated it and it lasts till 1st march.

Thx, Google.

i cant be the only one who noticed how blizzard has acctively become worse since vivendi move on in around 2014. like since they have been fucking up alot. is this just a coincidence or something else ? i mean we had ubisoft going on stages saying they wanna remain open and free to do whatever etc to try and stop vivendi buying ubi but since ubi stopped that they have done exactly what they said vivendi would do to them ( things like exlusive store deals with egs etc )

not a coincidence right
Nah man, it's just the merger with Activision.

There's no "Blizzard" anymore; it's Activision Blizzard.

Notice whose name is first in line & who decided Blizzard needed to fire 800 employees and you have all the information you need. :)

I've been having a tough time finding time to play anything.
Can anyone recommend me a few 2-4 hours games? Ideally, from different genres.

Thanks ;)

I'm not getting anywhere near this until they clear the air around Nier:Automata and the scandalous state it's been left in on PC. I don't care about their spat with Square, pointing fingers is too easy when you leave your customers behind and they seem awfully comfortable with that.

Already played the game on my U, will only kickstart if there also is a PC version.

Well actually, will only kickstart if they promise a Steam version.

If there will be a PC version they need to be super clear on Steam and EGS or they will just create unncessary drama.
If there is a Steam option, I will back it. However, if they just say "PC" . . . they better come out and clean.

I finished Jedi Fallen Order. Well-built, engaging, evenly paced, generally fun.
It is far less Souls than was originally chattered about on most corners of the internet. The late game proves that, when your upgrades start to make you feel more like a seasoned jedi, and you abandon the measured, cautious parry-heavy combat in favor of timing a strong force-attack if only, for no other reason, because you can. Think Uncharted, since that's how the set-pieces work as they rapidly get bigger and more dynamic.
The story has an end-game twist that felt unnecessary but not in a total game-altering way. It just didn't need it and slightly detracts from an otherwise interesting Star Wars tale that follows the usual Star Warsian theme of redemption.
All told, I'd be in for a sequel. I'm assuming they do, since this was kind of a breakout hit.

Its a shame Microsoft didn't buy Platinum. They would have let them release games on Xbox, Switch and PC.

On top of that they would have had financial security where they wouldn't have to worry about bs like Kickstarter. They probably wouldn't have had cancelled Scalebound too.

Meh, if they're gonna kickstart something do something cooler/new. Unless that's for an actual sequel, then ok.

The Microsoft that closed nearly all of its games studios less than five years ago? Come on man, the less studios they own the better, they can't be trusted with their track record.

Cooler/new is what you'll see from the Tencent money they just got and would probably be considerably too expensive to be kickstarted. W101 is on here because fucking no one played that game and I doubt any publisher, including nintendo, gives a fuck about it..

I trust microsoft money and their current gamepass/steam/xbox vision much more nowadays days than some of these devs being on their own. Especially when they can't even port a game now without help of kickstarter. Its great for inXile and Obsidian. It would have been great for Platinum too. Knowing they would have supported as many as 3 platforms going forward would have been better than inconsistent/uncertain stuff we get with them now. Like Bayo3 being Switch exclusive or them doing this kickstarter thing.

I think MS today is a lot different than MS 5 years ago.

MS 5 years ago would not want any of their games like Gears 5 and Halo on Steam. Or Halo Infinite.

Sometimes it's weird to think that I will be playing Halo Infinite on Steam.

So the company that cancels Scalebound and nearly put Platinum out of business is the best option for them looking forward... 🤷‍♀️ I respect that you trust their vision but we need time to see the results of this 'new' Microsoft.
