Ok that was weird, fullscreen/windowed/borderless all looked bad at 3840x2160 even after restarting after changing settings. What fixed it was :

Running at 3840x2160 with supersampling at "normal" which i assume is 100% looks like this:

With 3840x2160 and supersampling to "ultra" (200% ?) makes it look like it should.

I still don't think 3840x2160 at 100% should have looked that bad, but at least it looks nice now :blobcheer:

Around an hour left until two Humble game bundles ends. Will there be a new bundle today?
Maybe.
Fanatical just had a 'repeat' bundle today.
Next fanatical bundle as early as Thursday.

Sounds like a beefy pack, others would sell a dozen separate DLCs.

I had supersampling on high at 1440p for reference when i first started, never left it on normal so i can't say what it looks like. I also don't have a 4k monitor so this isn't something I can test on my end unfortunately.

I had the same issue at 1440p, looked super bad (much worse than I would expect) until I bumped up the supersampling.

I bounced off Ys VIII myself. Great port, but the game felt like a more competent 7, or at least how I remember 7, I played it through on PSP all those years back and found it underwhelming even though it was my first, I enjoyed Oath in Felghana and Origin much more all those years later they arrived on PC. I wish they were still using that style instead. If 9 plays like this with its own twists on top I won't be enjoying that either, though it looked pretty cool in videos so. The same for the Trails games, I bounced off the newer stuff without any intent to go back. But in that case I've also not played through the Sky games, but they're in my backlog and I intend to, they seemed much more charming when I checked them out a bit. Oh well, plenty other games out there (too many, evidently).

The gap between 7 and 8 is pretty massive imo, even bigger than the gap between Ark and Origin, right down to the game feel and movement and the level of exploration having a free roaming camera and wide open areas can provide being integral to the experience that having an "adventure" should provide. Party system isn't for everyone though, I respect that. I wouldn't mind a change up in the formula after 9, but I can't ever go back to single Adol after playing these new games. The variety in play styles and actually having characters that can hold up a story even while the main character is muted make the experience significantly more enjoyable (both reasons why Origin is so good since it combines the best of Oath while making improvements in these two areas). Even as someone who greatly enjoyed their time with Oath, it would be backwards to go back to that style of game instead of trying something new.

yay

The most overrated mobile game is finally getting a Steam release...
Awwww, I think it's a really nice experience :(

Reminder that now that Geforce now has released and Tom (from Valve) Highlighted it, it's a great moment to wonder what's "Steam cloud Gaming" and why Nividia was part of the partners strings. :thinking-face: too many questions, so little answers.

I hope if Valve does do cloud gaming, that it is what everyone wants it to be, not a subscription service but just another way to play the games you already own.
There's still too many things we just don't know, for example, who are they working with to expand their net or what services are they working on.
Patience ^^

That's the quickest $12 bundle I've snapped up in quite some time.

I followed TS pretty closely some years back, but haven't visited it in a while. This is a great opportunity to dive back in.

That Humble package is an INCREDIBLE value as most of those add on routes go for $40 a pop.

Thanks for the lead, Tizoc!

GeForce Now is about to release:

Would be cool if Valve could integrate it into Steam.

Im gonna test it out at the very least.

Gave it a round on my PC and cheapo Tablet (with LTE).

1. I had no idea Geforce NOW is accessing my Steam library. That's really a game changer imo.
2. It works surprisingly well, even on 4G!
3. Stadia was dead, but nvidia just removed it from the graveyard and put it into exile.

I remember DF doing a video about how DQB2 would "crawl" on both PS4 (pro) and N/S when ever you went to really big custom islands and it finally happened to me. Luckily it is not as bad as on those platforms. On my PC I am still getting 40+fps, while on those platforms I think it would dip below 10fps.... (15fps was the average on those from what I recall)

If Steam Cloud has workshop support it will be instantly better than every other service 😛 I'll never be able to use it due to where I live, but it'll be nice for people who will.
I just want a Steam Pass. And intergrated cheat engine with giving users the ability to share their tables like Steam Controller profiles or Workshop mods.

Huml

Getting to the point you could find a real train car on ebay for that money.

Though, personally, I don't have anything against this "practice". having played with physical train sets in my youth, it wasn't any cheaper and you didn't buy every train in existence. (or even just ... 5) They give people the opportunity to buy trains out of hundreds of different models. You don't (and shouldn't) buy every single one of them, just your favorites.

That's strange, the first screenshot clearly runs at lower resolution. Did you restart after changing the settings?
(Resolution changes and supersampling changes require a restart to apply)

One day an indie developer is going to make their own train simulator game with open modding, and Dovetail will go out of business.

I cannot redeem the key for one DLC (Train Simulator: Riviera Line in the Fifties: Exeter - Kingswear Route Add-On).
I think the DLC was automatically added with the key for the main game.

I remember trying Train Sim off a friend via Family Sharing. It wouldn't run :( It seemed like a common enough issue with no solution at the time.

Doesn't matter! $1? Hell yeah.
