So it seems Zen Studios pissed off their fanbase even more by canceling the launch discount for older tables in their new Pinball FX game. Also, their subscription pass is a ridiculous $15/month, new tables are up to $15 and there's still no Steam release. I hope they get what they deserve... 😡

LOTR LEGENDS! - Mobile tower defense Gacha
Saruman, the rise and fall of a wizard - Switch adventure
Lord of the RINGS - Arena hero fighter
Hobbit Survivors - survivor clone
Middle-Earth Battlegrounds - GAAS battle royal.
Those games feel like a Hard Drive troll.
But maybe there will be some good stuff in there, dunno.

If people can play Dark Souls on a banjo or whetever, then you can play pretty any game on controller or whatever else you want. I do agree that it's weird why you wouldn't want to use the best kind of input device, if you do play on PC and the game is clearly suited for KBM.
I feel like it depends on the game. I remember Gears feeling off and awkward when playing with a mouse, the controls felt cumbersome and it was obviously designed with the idea that you'd be leaning on the aim assist.
I was expecting Returnal to similarly feel awkward on KB/M, but it fits like a glove. I think it helps that the game's really fast-paced, it's not going by the old "slow everything down to compensate for analog aim" school of doing things.

I think I am going to stop buying AAA games in the first year of release. By the time i buy them they might actually work.

There's a free game inspired by Vampire Survivors that is based on Hololive Vtubers (and so, it has an anime aesthetic).
In the most recent version it has 29 characters.

I have been meaning to give that a go.

I'm quite ignorant on the matter but how much viable could it be to make a dual boot with Steam OS to play games in the persistent stutter fiesta of the 202x?

Tim Sweeney pushing people towards Linux so they can use downloaded shaders and escape his engine's stuttering. What a boss!

Well well well!
No MAU information? :thinking-face:

Edit: New purchasers actually decreased slightly from 2021, which had 31.2 million. 2022 had ~30.3 million new purchasers (83,000 x 365).

Steam had a good run. :crying-face:

But seriously, while the user base experienced healthy growth, I almost think player spending might have declined, especially since Valve didn't mention it. If it did decline, it's probably a combination of the COVID boom fading, the world economy worsening and 2022 being one of the driest years for new releases in recent memory. The only huge new releases I can think of in 2022 were Elden Ring, Lost Ark and Modern Warfare 2. It might also explain why Epic is so coy about releasing their year in review.

I'd be more inclined to spend more if the recent prices are reasonable. I'd love to get Ishin on day one, for example. But I certainly won't be so inclined to spend $100 for it.

Hitting cancel on the epic stuff for Returnal died nothing. I still see the overlay on task manager.

How do I remove this shit?

I'm sure publishers pricing out most of regions in the world has nothing to do with decline in sales.

Anyone with Ryzen 7000 CPU that is not interested in Jedi Survivor and it is willing to help me activate code?

I feel like I'm gravitating more towards F2P stuff these days. Mostly mobile games, weirdly enough. (That I play on my desktop PC, while I play my PC games mobile on the Steam Deck, lol).
Never would have thought I would one day happily play F2P GaaS games, but here we are. Genshin, Honkai Impact, Honkai Star Rail soon. I guess the common throughline here is that it looks like I like Hoyoverse's brand of F2P GaaS, since they are effectively (very good looking and highly polished) single-player games.
Honkai Impact in particular even has its story mode effectively detached from all the F2P gachaness surrounding it and can basically be played as a regular Action game with probably 100+ hours of just story stuff (which is how I to prefer to engage with it every couple months).
