Well I think that would be a bigger deal than those who buy it?
Because people don't care or don't know.

And what is Sony gonna do? I assume these contracts are quite strict with rules and such. Might be difficulty to back out unless Sony pays them a lot which is probably more money than the ads they will do costs.

Has anyone tried the image upscaling tech in Spider-man 2018?

On my non-RTX card, there is FSR 2.1, Intel XeSS and Insomniac's IGTI. I see no appreciable image quality or performance difference.

Maybe, but it doesn't help the game cuts to a close up of Ashley's chest. It's juvenile at best and extremely creepy at worst.

Also, it's a bit weird to complain about 'capcom dont like sexy' after Lady Dimitrescu and SF6 with the thiccest Chun Li yet and Foot Fetishist Juri is gonna be out in 5 months.
That's actually just it. It's weird for them to go with a sexless RE4, unless is Ashley supposed to be underage although she looks older now? I just wish they could do it cleverly.

And I do also wish / hope they make Ashley have some narrative volition if they are going that way.

This week's top 10 sellers.

Last week:
Damn it beat the Deck? wooooft

I'm very curious about the reviews for this.
If they're really good I may get it, I'm not a big HP fan but there's something about it that looks really good.

HL looks like the GaaSiest game ever from a dev yet to make one decent game, I truly don't get the hype.

I have not seen much gameplay and stuff from it. As for the hype I'm guessing it's mainly because it's one of the newest Harry Potter games in a long time. The last notable Harry Potter game was a mobile game and that made headline because of how bad the monetization method the game was using (it had a scene were your character was being attacked by a plant and if you didn't have the in game currency they would need to stay like that or something.

Prior to that game I think the last Harry Potter games are from 10+ years ago that were available on the PS360 era of games, seeing how the last movie came out in 2011 and how they didn't make games for the Wizarding World movies.

There's a lot of nonsense flying around the internet based on people playing hogwarts early it's hard to get a sense for how legitimate a lot of it is. I kept seeing people snickering about a combat vid and it was presented as disastrous and a trainwreck and I watched it and it's...fine? Like it's not the deepest combat in the world but it looks playable enough, looks like it controls ok too.

It's hard to find talk about it that isn't swinging from one biased extreme to the next. You have people on the boycott side who so desperately want the game to fail that they're being incredibly hyperbolic about it and you have the other side where it's the greatest thing ever. I just want to read what it's really like....

The skirts added nothing but fan service anyway

Supposedly they cut out the ballistics joke too. Not really a huge deal to me but it's just another knock against the remake that I have, lots of little issues starting to pile up. The hideous rain effects are probably the biggest negative right now. The huge black crush would be second.

It's funny you mention the rain because that stood out to me too. I really thought it might be a 'me' problem.

I realized too, that when these remakes don't actually change up the artistic style of the whole game, I find them very boring. In the case of RE4 it feels more like an advanced user mod than a true remake. It just looks extremely rough and unpolished, in a way I never would have expected Capcom to treat RE4.

Yeah I think a lot of this is how playable RE4 still is. The immediate reaction I have to the remake is that it doesn't impress me like RE2 did, but they arguably had a much easier chance to impress going from ps1 to ps4 graphics. I'm sure RE4 will play fine and probably be a good enough time but I'm not really seeing a lot that wows me. Visually I think it looks surprisingly rough, not just the rain effects but the lighting appears uneven and a lot of textures seem very muddy. Some of the changes or additions I'm very iffy on like they flat out admitted they're adding fetch quests to the game and that they have little charms that give passives (I have an increasingly extreme dislike of games with loot and junk stats like +1.5% look down sight speed). And there are more minor concerns like dialog being changed and wondering if this or that moment will be in the game.

FF7R taught me that I'm not very interested in pure 1:1 remakes but the changes should be good and interesting. When your changes are "we added fetch quests and junk stats" it's hard to imagine that working out well.

Yes I agree with this entirely. RE2 remake is a whole new experience. With RE4 I expected a similar renovation - whatever it may be. And you're right that RE4, similar to Dead Space is still perfectly playable.

I think for me even art changes can be sufficient. Like I really enjoyed Demon's Souls remake, because things were completely redesigned. It was visually a completely different game, rather than just incrementally improved. Something like Quake 2 RTX is also this way - the visual impact is just completely different.

TBH, though, if they made RE4 Remake a tank-control game with prerendered backgrounds I would have been super interested, even though I'm not particularly fond of those style RE games. Kind of a demake... It would have been really fascinating.

Game looks fun, like the concepts of recovering energy with aggressive play, I wonder if that makes expert matches last longer. But damn at those costumes, having to be edgy and full of whatever is perceived as personality vs the so called drab archetypes of VF characters sure takes its toll. That dress looks more like an Anna outfit than Nina plus it behaves weird like it's glued on her thighs or something. And Paul's new hair, lol. Oh well, there will probably be plenty alternate costumes that are more like their look in older games but still I imagine these are the new defaults and they're meh.

This game was originally a mobile game and then was ported to PC. It has a decent player base in Japan on PC.

The main advantage on PC is that the game does have 4K support and some nicer visuals and stuff.

I have not played it before but I'm guessing that enough people asked for native controller support and they ended up adding it.

Too bad that there's no word on localization as far as I can see.

Japan exclusive offer

From my understanding contest like this are illegal in the US but are not illegal in the UD from what I have been told.

For those that want more info, basically you have to buy a Steam key from Komodo (well not directly from) in order to be able to participate in the contest. 7 512GB Steam Decks are being given away, with the option to choose to get a Steam deck or the signed jackets, you have to choose which contest to enter, it's one or the other that you can enter to win.

By the way the RRG team was at the Steam Deck TGS booth to promote Ishin.

PS Komodos' sister company is in charge of those Steam cards. So they make money off them.

In Japan Komodos' sister company sells these cards to retail stores , which is why Japan 711 is promoting this promotion since you can buy these cards at a 711. The thing about these cards is that unlike a regular steam gift card, these cards are locked to one game only. And it tells you on the card that you are buying. Nintendo does something similar in Japan (I'm not sure if Sony does the same thing or not)

I believe that Capcom also did a pro in the past with similar Steam game cards sold at physical retail stores (you could always import one via Amazon.jp if you wanted)

iirc I just used DLSS

FSR and XeSS are better than Insomniac's if I remember right from the DF vid
How is FSR and XeSS anyways (compared to DLSS)?
I know that year was light on releases but those nominations and the winner...

We know awards and picks are bullshit. But...
Look it this way

Now that entire world saw vide0-game music being recognized at global stage. This will encourage composers to join and explore video-game music landscape. This is net positive for games music & games industry as a whole.

I mean I don't really judge either, but thought for those that do, big public pushing and funding something would be worse than a singular person just getting it. So was surprised that in fact no does care as you said.XD
I suppose the power balance between anti and pro (for lack of a better word) is not loop sided enough for Sony to care. Corporations walk back on things when the optic is super bad for them, and I guess this is not at that level.

Personally curious to see reviews.

How is FSR and XeSS anyways (compared to DLSS)?
FSR 2.x is a solid alternative to DLSS and it works on a broader amount of GPUs too. It's still not as good as DLSS, it can produce some artifacts in certain scenarios but AMD has been updating this tech pretty regularly to fix the most glaring issues. XeSS is the worst of the bunch I think. IIRC it introduces much more input lag compared to FSR and DLSS, and the reconstructed image quality is mixed. It works on a lot of GPUs too.

DLSS is better than both, but they're all fine and usable

And sites that openly promote the game, can't really fault the general populace too much when big sites putting out articles telling people what's the best deals for it, how awesome the game that's not out might be.

but they'll put "hey you all know all about rowling right?" in small fonts in another article just to not get on people's bad side.

After those reviews it will be one of the best selling games this year. Together with Jedi Survivor.

Wow yeah, that's a high Metacritic average. Even though I don't know half those sites and some take are ridiculously hyperbolic.
Why, yes Carole, I'm sure HL is a videogame monument.

PC port of HL not looking so hot.

Lots of performance issues and slowdowns even on a 4090.
I can't be surprised anymore it's happening with almost literally every AA/AAA release. I'm only now sitting down and reading a few reviews but I've had people mention to me that the ps5 version doesn't seem so hot either. Hard to believe this is expected to run not only on last gen systems but the freakin switch too.

You would think Devs should have fully figured UE4 out at this point but i guess not.

Yeah a little surprised at Hogwarts opencritic scores so far, the combat just looks so mid. Expected around 80 at most. Haven't read the reviews but I would expect that in some cases at least the Potter nostalgia is carrying it.

The combat is being widely praised. If anything what hurts it a bit is the lack of simulation aspects. The classes seem to be mostly window dressing that don't exist outside of story missions and there's no rules you have to follow as a student outside of a few forced stealth missions involving breaking curfew.
