Let's hope Etrian goes multiplatform.
Or more realistically, that we'll get Demon Gaze 1+2 and Dungeon Travellers 2 ported to PC.
Oh, what I wouldn't give for Etrian Odyssey on PC. :disappointed-face:

I mean dungeon crawler + Yuzo Koshiro kick-ass soundtracks = heaven.
I have the Nintendo DS entries, but it's a crime to play these in such a small screen.
I want to play them on my monitor, and crank my speakers loud!

If someone does not want Trailmakers from the Hubmle Choice bundle i'm here all day. :D

In other news: FRONTIERS was released. Yep, after six years in Early Access it was released.

It's a dumpster fire. :( Full of bugs and shattered dreams. :(

It went from this:

to this:
Yeah I saw it yeasterday and was so damned confused at first haha. I used to follow the developers youtube videos from the get go when he had a kickstarter. I was so hyped! So I was so sad to see it crash as much as it did. BUT I am glad he stuck to it and got it out finished, even if it barely holds together. I am still very curious to try it out, because still, the concept is very interesting.

Slightly OT but dunno where else to put it but Dan Ryckert is leaving Giant Bomb for a Wrestling Podcast gig and fuck me the vitriol that i've seen some people express for Giant Bomb is madness. Anyway, good luck and best wishes to him, he's entertained the hell out of me for the last few years!

Never really a big fan of Ryckert but he did do some good stuff at GB like Metal Gear Scanlon. Funny how the 2 guys from that piece now you have one doing podcasts for WWE and the other responsible for one of the biggest internet memes of all time while doing interviews on GMA lol.

GB is too safe, bland and jaded nowadays. As soon as they stopped doing game reviews they stopped giving a shit about completing games. All of their discussion nowadays is basically demos of games and no one is actually passionate about things anymore.

Bleh that bundle.

I want Graveyard Keeper, don't care one bit about the rest, so not even giveaway leftovers for the price.
I need to dump my unused keys in the thread at some point...

Apparently JP fans asked for DT2/2-2 on PC and AQUAPLUS outright refused. :confounded-face:
Still more realistic than Etrian Odyssey. :blobweary:

Etrian Odyssey works really well in Desmume, from what I've played.

This year seems pretty disappointing to me.
Until we get a date for Psychonauts 2 and Tales of Arise, I have no interest in anything before like... Wasteland 3 in may?
Just enough time to watch the news.

But we are getting a new Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Doom and Half-Life games in the next 3 months.

How can you not have interest in them?

Its like the 1990s all over again :D

Yeah, can't wait for Arise and they're killing me by still not announcing a release date. At least Cyberpunk, Vampire and Half-Life (3) will help with the wait.

Fucking hell, I didn't expect Humble Choice to have a second month as strong as the first one but this is a shockingly big step down. It would be kinda decent if I didn't already own SF5 and Two Point Hospital but as it is that leaves only Mordor and Graveyard Keeper that I'm actually interested in. Looking up all the other games, I actually had 3 of them on ignore from doing the discovery queue lmao.

Is Mordor at least the complete edition with all the dlc? Cause if not then I'm gonna have to pause. Probably for the best since I haven't played any of the december games yet and I'm still busy with PS Now. Still got Bloodborne to finish before I can start Horizon, which I imagine is gonna keep me busy for at least a couple weeks.

Unfortunately it's the standard edition from everything I've read so far (As per usual with Humble)

Buys 1440p 144hz monitor. Plays 800x600 res game with 64x64 res textures.
It's still 1080p. ;)

Don't wanna upgrade resolution as of yet. I find framerate and high graphic settings to be more important that resolution.

Which is also why I could not care less about 4k with all the next-gen console talk. I want high framerate and all the bells and whistles, not high resolution.

Is the IQ good if you output 1080p on a 1440p screen ?

You don't have to upscale it if you play in lower than native resolution, you can letterbox it (or play in windowed modes if available).

It can look fine with integer scaling on also, which evenly increases pixels, so the letterbox isn't too big (or window too small).

Also, some of the better crt/scanline/etc filters require higher than 1080p to look proper from what I've read recently.

Basically the same things apply as when you want to play less-than-1080p games on a 1080p monitor I guess.

Downunder.
Btw, latest chapter of FuckmylifeTM : yesterday I finished the sale by buying Muv-Luv, a VN famous for being shitty but evolving to great if you read the follows up. Then I went to the official site where the uncensor patch is sold. Not that I want porn in my VN, but at the same time I don't want cut content (it's complicated, don't judge).
I was greeted by a message telling me that in order to complete the purchase I would have to send them a message via... mobile.

It seems like it's the Winter running gag for me :thinking-blob:

Not that was going to play the game immediately, so no big deal, but still. If website could get off my balls with mobile checks, it would be appreciated.
Bruvva I can just send you the patch if you've started to pull your hair out instead of reading Muv-Luv. Let me know.

Here's a look at this month's adventure games, courtesy of the wonderful guys at Gamewalker and AdventureGamers:

This might be a lighter month in terms of releases, but the showcased games all look very interesting.
The games featured are:

-Lightmatter
-The White Door
-The Blind Prophet
-Within Whispers: The Fall

Indeed it does.

I actually backed it on Kickstarter early last year, so I already have a copy lined up. :)

There's an old, early demo available at the following link, in case you want to check out an earlier version of the game:
Oh cool stuff, thanks

Yeah for some reason I hadn't seen or heard of it and I like to think Im on the up and up on stuff but it just flew past my radar and it's coming out in a week
So well there you go

It's always great when we get surprises like that. :)
I love discovering games at launch, or close to it. These Gamewalker/AdventureGamers monthly videos are a great way to discover some new, interesting, adventure (mostly point and click) games.

is there a single game you haven't backed? :p lol
Checks Kickstarter profile:
"Backed 585 projects".

Yeah, you are right. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Sadly, many negative past experiences have made me almost stop backing campaigns, at least videogames campaigns (I still back the occasional film restoration project, or blu-ray release).

Now, I buy a lot of early access games instead.

Called and scheduled an appointment with Spectrum to fix my internet. Arrival was supposed to be between 4 and 5pm, called after 5pm and tech hadn't even left yet and the support rep couldn't contact the local office's dispatch team.

Great. Awesome.

I did a lot of kickstarter games in the initial rush of them & I am glad I did but there was a handful that I backed that were straight up garbage or just like stole my money and ran for the hills.

There's a couple of Early Access titles that have basically done the same exact thing but at least you sort of get a playable product you can go "Well this is junk" REFUND

Kickstarters basically just throwing your money over a fence and hoping a year+ later someone throws something cool back over to you

I think i've backed 8 projects, 1 of which failed and went Patreon, 2 were from SeeSense for bike bits, and Exploding Kittens card game and Tides of Numenera.

I'm currently not waiting for SWERY's The Good Life, i say not waiting as i am happy to let them work on it until they're happy. I backed the Deadly Premonition board game too. Love SWERY and would love to see a SWERY, Yoko Taro, Suda51 game. It'd be glorious madness.

Backed the Wadjet Eye game Nighthawks which is another dev i've been following for years and it's great to see them doing so well both as a dev team and publisher.

I think i've picked my projects quite well and had no regrets.
