If it was one of our ports I would confidently say that you can rebind everything anywhere you please (or nowhere), but since we just patched Ys VIII I don't really know/remember.
So I bought Hitman 3 because of the whole World of Ass thing, and was confused when I downloaded it and saw I could only play H3 and H2 levels on H3. H1's levels were locked out, despite the fact that I own all 3 games on steam. So I went to Reddit and the steam forums to see why this was the case, and I apparently had to download H2 (Which was a 98 Gb download btw) and then download all the H1 levels from H2 to access them on H3. Which I did with my third-world internet connection that took ages to download it.

No, give IOI some credit here. This is World of Total and Complete Ass.
Hitman games in terms of gameplay = Great.
Everything else to do with Hitman games = Rubbish.

I imagine every single game being under a different publisher made this way more complicated than it should've been. Square-Enix dropping them really fucked up the entire trilogy's content delivery plans. It was probably easier for them to just pull everything from Hitman 2.
Which means I'm incredibly lucky that I still had Hitman 2 installed with everything from H1 imported despite not having touched it since release because I just had to launch Hitman 3 the other day and I got all the content immediately.
Gears 5 runs very smooth.
It's sad that I'm surprised when I don't see stutters in a game but that's where we're at.
The game demands that I log into a Microsoft account, fuck that noise.

Finally started FF7 Crisis Core, won't have the time to play it anytime soon anyway.
I really like what they did with it, it's such a boon to see a very flawed game get the much needed attention it deserves, it fixes so many of the problems of the original without going overboard, I hope to see more remakes in that line.
Only gripe, why did they change Zack's English VA like this? He sounds really, really weird now, I don't like it...

If you could wait until 26th January, then you wouldn't need to download H2 in order to get H1 locations. But yeah, the level import system is stupid...
Not to mention the profile progress.
I didn't have much progress in H2, but gave up on importing my progress to H3, because IO's server wouldn't even start the process of porting my progress over.
So, I started H3 with a blank profile and played through the entire trilogy that way.

Hmm odd I have only Hitman 3 installed and can play H1 and H2 levels. Just finished all H1 levels yesterday. World of (hurt) Ass indeed.
Edit: ok so the problem is that you need to actually launch the game (H1 and H2) to get the content activated somehow. How stupid is that

I don't think you actually had to install them, I'm pretty sure Hitman 2 would recognize you had the licenses.
I had bought the Hitman 2 DLC levels and did a raw launcher-only install with only the tutorial level (none of the map "DLCs") and Hitman 3 recognized I had every map unlocked.
I mean it's still an "Oof" when there's the established precedent of Hitman 2 being able to read Hitman 2016 licenses - Logically, why couldn't Hitman 3 read from both?

I believe it's because with the transition from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3, it's because they switched from reading from your Steam account to instead an "IOI Account"™ that is linked to your Steam account, and it's Hitman 2 that was the point-of-transfer for reading Steam licenses into IOI licenses for "transfer" to Hitman 3 on EGS.

I did the same over the weekend and eventually got it sorted after some random mix of downloading & launching H1/2/3. (I was pretty beer-buzzed to be fair.)
I was able to activate everything under the banner of the Hitman 3 launcher, but unfortunately none of my H1 & H2 saves or progress carried over. Not a big deal as it's been so long I wanted to revisit the earlier titles in order anyway.
Man, I somehow managed to drop over 15 hrs. into Hitman 1 alone over just a few days. And on top of that it was primarily focused on getting all the challenges on the first two training missions and opening Paris map. It served as a reminder of just how incredible series reboot wound up being.
I've gravitated away from the AAA scene over the years for a number of reasons, but there's a couple devs/franchises that I just keep me coming back to as they seemingly eschew those AAA tropes I find myself fatigued with.
The Hitman franchise is an Immersive Sim in the truest sense. The clockwork mechanisms of a level & NPCs. The freeform structure giving the player true agency in the space to engage in any dozens of manners. It's such an incredible feeling of possibility. And what will always keep me coming back long after I've given up on big-budget gaming.

That is first game of the year done. Sackboy A Big Adventure is great 3D platformer and as I said don't let cuteness fool you, if you want to 100% each level your palms will get sweaty and you will curse XD But if you just want to finish game it is relatively easy. I will continue to play it for sure to get 100%.
Also game was amazing on Deck. Locked 40FPS almost maxed out at higher resolution than Deck native one. Game looked and played great.
