I didn't talk about it here (only on Discord), but the situation with the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion going up in price here in Argentina has been resolved, thanks to... Steam and Bungie forums (yeah, despite what certain industry luminaries say, forums are very useful in many situations).

(the TL;DR for this story is that a troll posted on Bungie's forums saying the price was bugged here because we had actually competent regional pricing, a Spanish moderator who doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word "empathy" agreed and sent the "feedback" upwards, someone who didn't know about regional pricing updated the price so it had parity with the US, people from Argentina started opening threads calling for Bungie to revert this stupid idea, and today Bungie said they will do so next week)
Glad they're fixing it, but this mess shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Imagine having to wake up in the morning knowing you're a useless sack of shite because you work for G2A, like this community manager:

We're screwing over devs ourselves to prevent someone else from doing it instead. Once again we're faced with the "Mass Effect 3 ending" argument.
I got the first ending in 999!
That was both faster than expected (just 4 hours) and not conclusive at all, lol. Time to hit the other routes.
According to the flowchart I literally went "left" on every decision, haha.
Oh my friend, you're in for a ride! Hope your seatbelt is on, 'cause it's gonna get wild!

I almost can't even imagine anymore what it's like being 4 hours into 999, knowing the directions in which the franchise goes.
It's impossible to recreate that first, magical experience. Once you replay any narrative heavy game after experiencing the true ending you'll automatically start looking for clues and foreshadowing everywhere. But that doesn't make the replay any less worthwhile; if anything, being able to notice those little details adds a lot.

But you have to friend it to send a trade request right?
Sorry for stupid questions, never traded before...
no you don't have to friend the bot. you can just send him a trade offer and he will accept. you can also take out things (coupons) he has in his inventory if you want.
there are a few trash bots on steam (and trading card bots and a few others)

After the Studio Trigger trailer I got curious about Shantae series and it turns I already have the first two, but somehow Half-genie Hero Ultimate Edition is skipping this sale? :face-with-cold-sweat:

This is cool. I wanna come work with Hektor. Does your workplace need a Bartender? I can cook also. :blobnerd:

The only meaningful upgrade path from a 1080ti since last year, and probably until next year, is the 2080ti. (it's ~40% on average when you are GPU limited)

Not particularly satisfying pricing-wise, but the indicators that this would be the case have been there for a while.
I personally don't think 2080ti is worth it for me. So much of it is dedicated to RTX, which I don't have a problem with that tech, but it's not really feasible at 4K even with a 2080ti. Well, it is, but you have to sacrifice so much eye-candy for playable frames. (Too much imo, which is why I've skipped the 2000 series.)

Now a bit of a technical question if you'll indulge me, if not that's okay too since you're probably a much busier man then me atm.

You say the 2080ti can have up-to a 40% performance increase over the 1080ti when GPU limited. (I play at 4K, so I am definitely 100% GPU limited). How is a 40% increase in performance possible when the difference in TFLOPS is so little? There is also less VRAM, which I thought would mean more time wasted in asset swap/transfer...

I thought such an improvement over the 1080ti would require quite a bit more TFLOPS, like 18+? My 1080ti with it's overclock is hitting just under 12TFLOPS (11.97). Whereas the EVGA equivalent 2080ti upgrade is only sitting at 14ish TFLOPS, which just doesn't seem like it could lead to a 40% gain to me?

I don't doubt the truth of your words, rather I am wishing to understand the "how" of it. o_O

Sony slowly morphing into Nintendo from 30 years ago.
In this particular case where it's an opening scene of less than a second, I didn't really care that much, but hopefully this is indicative of how they will handle censorship going forward. I don't want PC versions touched at all. ESRB and Sony have no power here! :dabblob:

And NOT like ZankiZero did. (Also from SpikeChunsoft, and the PC version got the same censoring as consoles.)

If this is your first time through 999...oh man, you're gonna enjoy it! 999 is one of those games where you always wish you could experience it for the first time again whenever the subject comes up.

From the Aksys panel, maybe a good sign? (obviously mean the fact they cannot confirm or deny shiren port)
LOL. That must be so disheartening for people to just leave en masse like that because Otome announcements. I feel bad for them a little bit.

It does make me wonder about the true market split though. Like Aksys keeps localizing Otome games so there must be some money in it... but maybe there is more money in traditional VN's instead...?

Well, Turing is quite a different architecture. For example, it has independent integer ALUs, which means that, if you had a shader that perfectly alternatingly used independent floating point and integer instructions then it would run twice as fast on Turing compared to a previous gen card with the same FLOPs rating. Of course there aren't any such shaders in the real world, but there absolutely are real-world shaders with quite a bit of integer operations which benefit significantly from this. There are also various other (less significant) microarchitectural compute efficiency improvements.

Then on the memory subsystem level there's ~30% more memory bandwidth thanks to GDDR6 (which also overclocks really well), and significant improvements to caching on several levels. I'm not sure what you mean by less VRAM by the way, both the 1080ti and the 2080ti have 11 GB.

Ah I see, thank you for taking the time. On the VRAM, it seems I was mistaken and you are correct. It is the regular 2080 with 8GB.

Personally I'm still waiting for whatever comes next outta Nvidia, the 3000 series I imagine, or maybe they'll go to 2100's....?

So the Surviving Mars Season Pass / Colony Edition thing bugged me enough to log a ticket with Paradox, someone got back and said the base price of the season pass on Steam looks like it's too high, so they're going to try and fix it but not sure if it'll make it before the sale ends. Other thing I learned is, the Colony Edition isn't a "bundle" it's a pre-built "pack" so Steam won't remove the base game even if you already own it. So that's the definition they use for the 2 different types of "bundles" and why some on Steam are the "save if you own part" kind and some aren't.

Anyway, kudos to their customer service to get back to me in like an hour with an actual helpful response, and hopefully a fix to the season pass price.

I thought it was a typical Paradox pricing as here the season pass costs more then the non sale price of the base game.....
Actually I just reread the ticket and went and looked at the store again, it looks like there's at least TWO things off... the CS rep was in Australia (I guess) and looking as AUD, where the season pass base cost is the same as colony edition base cost, and they're discounted the same. However, in the US, the BASE prices look correct ($65 for colony and $35 for season pass) but the discount on the season pass is incorrect, making the colony edition cheaper here as well. Who knows what the pricing is in other places, but this is quite screwy.

I don't why but whenever I finish a game I feel I must go through a cooldown period before starting a new game. Last Sunday I finished Wolfenstein II and I've been drifting between RE6 and other games but I'm not really paying attention lol

Same exact thing happens with me too and the longer the game was that I just finished the longer the break is in between usually.

Another case of customer whining (as people like saying when they don't agree and want others to shut up about an issue) having a positive effect into pressuring devs to get their shit together. And some more evidence of Steam services doing more than just being the middle man/a launcher for huge profits on top of that (I do hope they provide offline map editors and shit still, even if they don't have the online sharing or whatever local files should be created and be able to be shared manually or from sites with just dropping them in relevant folders), not that we needed it, it's obvious.

I'm always down for SRPG's, furries or not.

Balmung: RP haven. Actually more of an ERP haven in particular.
This reminds me of the time some dude was super friendly to me and invited me into his guild, then he showed me his bedroom and tried to sext me. 😹

We could've definitely needed a bartender for the beer station, but alas, now i learned how to pull the magic lever for half an hour.

Trying to decide what to spend my 5$ coupon on...

Legit torn between Tales of Symphonia, Terraria, Firewatch and Vanquish...

I've got 3 days left to make what feels like the most important decision of my life.

Would be really nice if MS could just put up the preorder for Halo Reach right now.

You're saving $5 on a game you'd (probably) have eventually bought anyway at roughly the same price, so it doesn't really matter outside of which one you'll play first. Seems like you don't have anything to lose regardless of what you pick! 😉

So I had ~4k tokens remaining after rebuying World of Final Fantasy with the DLC and spent 1k on the badge, which got me 3 levels, whoa :dizzy-face:
Guess I'll spent those other tokens on the badge as well? Or is the a more "reasonable" use for them?
