tonight's progress of The Room (Trademark Pending):
i have manage to just create my table in hammer instead of photogrammetrying it, which is a very good thing, it looks very alike to the real deal, but more importantly, i have managed to change my walls not only into a more precise colour that matches mine, but also make them more accurate (different textures between the planks and the "background" on the walls as using same texture on both stretches the background texture more ish), but other than that, i also made the laminate bigger and also more of one colour
source 2 also has raytracing apparently, which made this image:
as you can see, not much normal mapping, but that's just how it is, they are still there, i am mostly glad to see how nicely the bed has managed to integrate with the environment of the room, even if this kind of gameplay would be impossible in real time (it took me 6 minutes to render this one image)
progress after this would be:
- finding and reusing models for things that i can't photogrammetry, such as my carpet and roof lamp
- photogrammetry of A LOT of props such as (but not limited to) my desktop pc, my drawer, physics props like rubik's cube, dualsense, books, screen, french press, bust, bla bla bla
- after the implementation of roof lamp, test out interior lighting from it
- and then others which will come along the way
