I never got that game to function correctly no matter what I tried.

FPS drops to single digits and constant crashing made me eventually drop it, so I'm one of those people who quit early :surrenderblob:
I just installed the DPfix included in this guide and nothing else. No FPS problem and only crashed once so far. Not sure if it will fix your problems but you can give it a try if you are interested in playing the game. :cat-heart-blob:

I liked the background images for the different pages so I started making some wallpapers from it and I thought about sharing with you just keep in mind I don't have much experience editing images.

Already posted in the GOG OT but since its a time sensitive thing I'd mention it here too

EA is making GOG delist Ultima Underworld 1+2, Syndicate Plus, and Syndicate Wars on June 28th from GOG so they will no longer be for purchase. People who already own them will be able to download/purchase them still however.

So if you have an interest in them be sure to grab them!

I strongly suggest grabbing them if you have any inclination towards them because I think they're awesome.

Oh fuck, I goofed !!!
I trusted Windows 10... Silly me.

So in order to pass the shitty sys req for Windows 11 I activated trusted computing on the mobo.
Launched the req app : no dice, fuck you, no explanation.

So I did what I thought I had to. As Windows was breaking my balls in the components summary with One Drive not being set, I set it, no big deal !
...
Wrong.

I choose to save desktop and now all my shortcuts have green check mark on them. I vaguely remember having to deal with this shit but the fix I see online is for file explorer and already applied.
I have to nuke these check marks.

PS. On a side note, it's like I'm the last person on earth to use shortcuts, no other explanation for this shit. Check marks on shortcuts, no but srsly fam, fuck you.

I want to pick up Subnautica as well on Humble.
Why ? Is it cheaper than Steam with Choice ?

Valve has the best writers, those mini stories are hilarious.
It's really well translated and localized as well, with references to a Swedish celebrity in one as well.
Really wish Steam introduces option to throw away Not Tradable, Not Marketable stickers; those sales stories were fun, but now I'm burdened with even more of them randomly cluttering up my inventory.
Isn't there a limit to your inventory space, so you could potentially run out?

Man, Crossbell and Nayuta in english. I was honestly starting to think it would never happen. Even after Falcom announced they were remastering both I still couldn't bring myself to fully believe. :steam_pigblanket:

This is really cool:

Def going to wait for the official releases now.

Most likely EGS, GOG and Steam.
Fall 2022 despite partnering with fan translators who translated the whole game? I don't understand how those localization companies work. Original Sin 2 script had over 1 mln words and Larian released it in 11 languages including Chinese (Traditional, Simplified) and Korean, and then added Japanese translation in a free patch within a year of launch. They also charged $45 for their full game game and not $60 + a ton of cosmetic DLC. As much as I enjoy quite a few Japanese games, everything around them always seems fishy as hell.

As for me, I'll be continuing my Azure playthrough of course. It would've been nice to do NG+ on the official release, but since they'll probably be based on the Kai versions, well, I don't see the clear saves will ever be compatible.

I think you're underestimating the script sizes of these games. The Trails series are roughly 1 million Japanese characters per game, we're on an 18-month cycle per Trails game in the West and it's actually still very fast considering the western localiser will need to cross-reference 10 other games for script consistency.

I like how some devs are making use of the new Steam features. It's nice how Bandai used the Steam Music feature but they didn't really do a good job at it (but then again it's part of the deluxe edition thing, so "free"?)

The music thing would be cool for those games that offer music as part of a pre-order early bird thing because this way you don't have to download the game to be able to get the music and also you can set the quality of the files. So you can choose to download the MP3 files or the FLAC files.

And the game profile thing is cool and you see two of them for REVillage.

The game profile thing would actually be a nice thing for pre-orders. The issue would be people missing out on it. PSN already does themes and avatars so why not profile stuff for Steam?

If it's the Kai versions there's still new stuff to translate I think and they'll want to do an editing pass over the translation as well. And then I imagine also porting? (It's a bit weird since Zero and Azure have different versions on different platforms from different publishers. No idea if they can or want to use them, so they might need to port Kai to PC or back-port the Kai additions to the original PC version or I dunno)
And then they're also working on Reverie and Nayuta, and probably some other games.

I don't really mind, it's already been almost 3 years since I played the last Trails game, doesn't really matter if I wait another year and some months. And then I have basically 5 Trails game to play back-to-back + Nayuta :evilblob:

I don't really know how this compares to your Original Sin 2 example, but the Trails games have massive script sizes and are extremely connected. I imagine a single game of them has an equal or higher word count than Original Sin 2. The last official number i can find is Trails in the Sky SC with 716k words, and every game after (except 3rd maybe) has been bigger than that.
And when translating one you'll have half a dozen other games in the series that are comparable in script size where you need to make sure terminology, characters, etc stay consistent.
And since Falcom is a backwards company, they don't allow western publishers to even start localizing before the game is out, which is the biggest reason why these games take so long (ignoring Zero and Azure, since those are special circumstances).

I'll probably re-buy Azure down the line (since the way the "license" joyoland license works is weird). And I'd be down to do a NG+ but since I doubt my save will be compatible.

Still can't quite believe that come 2023 we'll be living in a timeline where all Trails games are officially localized and available on PC.
No longer will it be necessary to dance around the Crossbell gap when recommending them so someone or someone asks about play order.
Now only the Sky games need a PS4 + Switch port and Switch versions for CS 1 + 2 and then the entire series is basically available on everything except Xbox going forward unless Sony or Nintendo drop backwards compatibility again in the future.

Literally all of those translations were made by fan groups.

I suppose I should be done with the sale. I had 3 priorities, Hardspace Shipbreaker, Subnautica and Satisfactory.
Bought Satisfactory at 19 something thanks to Kvik.
Shipbreaker interests me greatly, but it's far from finished, only one act is implemented, with placeholder voices from the dev. Yeah, Satisfactory is far from finished too, but I didn't hear about story mode.
Then Subnautica.
...
I was really gonna bite, but fuck it, it's on GamePass. I can't justify 14 euros to have it on Steam.

Not sure what to get this sale, since I no longer can do bootcamp, the only requirement is that the game has to work on Mac, turns out I own most already or they don't really speak to me. Trying to find a good meaty RPG that I havent already played but can't find!

Larian also considered localization carefully over years (or decades really) when creating both their own engine and the games, and worked on making sure everything is ready for it themselves with high priority already during development. They also sell many millions of those games, while especially these old Falcom games are going to sell a tiny fraction of that. Also, while there is a complete fan translation, it's not of the version(s) of the games which is actually going to be released.

And finally, the versions of the game that are going to be released don't actually exist yet :p

So, after yesterdays announcement, re-installing Trails in the Sky FC. Will give it a go over the weekend.

Wish there was a way I could stream this to my Series S. Until I finish working from home I can't get the PC close to the TV.
The Sky trilogy are great games, and Zero/Azure are easily the best games of the franchise.

Have a good ride. Sadly I am among those who don't like Cold Steel (done 1 and 2), but I am still going to play those upcoming games because Trails into Reverie is said to be one of the strongest entries in the series.

Cheers, will give them a go.

Also turns out the Steam Link App is on the Samsung TV App Store. Will set that up in my lunch break.
