Well, I'm a socialist. I'm absolutely more concerned about how workers are treated than why Frostbite is a shit engine or so.
That's true, and if that was his focus I'd be a-okay with it. I was glad when the abuse at Ubisoft was exposed.

But no, he has to do pieces on technical things and production issues, commenting on processes and having no idea what normal should look like. It logically follows that he'll ask other experts, and that'd be fine too, except that he only interviews the ones that reach out to him. You see the issue there. It's as if you were asking Glassdoor to write a piece for you.

I'm a socialist and this guy pisses me off when he does these things. He chases drama and doesn't care about accuracy or objectivity.

What I don't really understand is why the Investor Day PDF (https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/IR/library/presen/irday/pdf/2021/GNS_E.pdf) mentions Uncharted 4 right after Days Gone. They could have just put God of War instead if it's actually next.

You're putting way more thought into this than whatever intern slapped those slides together, dude. Seriously, you've overthinking it. It was an investor thing, not meant to be any kind of tease or announcement.

-----

Also, I have some extra spending money right now and was starting to fill my cart with a ton of games. Games I actually want to play but that I'm unlikely to touch them anytime soon since I still have a handful of titles in my immediate backlog and I'm currently obsessed with FFXIV. Besides, I already dropped like a hundred bucks on Shadowbringers and Forza Horizon 4.

So, instead of blowing all that money on games I won't need anytime soon, I made the only other logical purchase: ANIME

I don't know about that. Sony are well aware what conversations it would lead to. They did not include Uncharted 4 without reason.

God of War releasing before the Uncharted 1-4 collection would honestly surprise me.

I don't know why everyone is suddenly so obsessed with windows 11 when microsoft themselves has no idea what the requirements are going to be finalized in the grand scheme

Their site Upgrade to the New Windows 11 OS | Microsoft
Says I'm fine
and ive seen lots of people like rummaging around in their computer panic changing settings like theyre going to miss out on shit 6+ months from now.

They were literally trying to force feed me windows 10 from 7 so I don't think anyone is going to miss shit
The whole thing is like bizzaro land

omg sod this, I don't even know what half this shit means, I give up.

I've been getting more and more frustrated with PC gaming of late; as I've gotten older and reprioritising my hobbies (something I've said in these threads before), and I value convenience and simplicity so much more now.
Anime, consoles and Macs are my new friends now, sorry gaben.

Honestly this is such a no brainer I have no idea why they have not announced it yet. God of War would right at home on PC. An action RPG with AAA production values appealling to a western audience is a recipe for success on PC.

It will do better than Horizon easily. God of War is huge.

Please, keep in mind those presentations are usually done "in a hurry" by visual designers that are only told to include a few logos, most likely they put Uncharted as a representation of core playstation IPs jumping into PC, I wouldn't read too much into it as if it's the next one or not, will it happen? sure, why wouldn't it? will it be the next? probably or probably not, only Sony knows.

The last two can be fixed in your mobo settings, I think.

Not sure about the partitioning.

What other things?
Having a big couch with 4K HDR TV and sound system, my PC isn’t convenient for that setup
Being at a desk on a work pc more often than I used to be
Better game pass on my series X
Even if the situation is much better than things used to be many years ago sometimes ports are bad, late or don’t come
Expensive hardware, my XSX and PS5 cost about as much as a full refresh of my pc would
My having no technical experience really in managing PC hardware, so being reliant on others if anything really goes wrong

Being locked out of W11 for a rig that is still fairly capable was the cherry on top

it is what is for me now, I used to not mind but I do now. My PC has its place but it’s not my main platform going forward anymore like it used to be
I expect many will disagree on these things of course (I mean this is a pc forum after all! I’m still here for the chat and the games and anime) but I’ll hit it off now that I’m not interested in a point by point breakdown of how “I’m wrong”

Changing your disk partitioning will change your boot type, and you will be able to enable secure boot, TPM you will need to check if its available in your motherboard.

Regarding your processor, we don't know if win11 will have a hard lock against it, but doesn't look like it.

I understand.

I could personally never return to console only due to online fee, lack of mods and tons of games that are either not on console of far superior on PC. Also, I have big problems aiming with controller. I suck at Returnal mainly because I can't really aim that well.

So even if I got PC problems, I have to fix it.

I think around half (not suprised if it over half) of the games I regularly play are not even on consoles.

Why do people care about W11 again? Its gonna be broke as shit for years and MS is still releasing their upcoming titles on W10 so ill just wait and get it on the last day of the upgrade period lol
The only thing I want to know is what will my games benefit from, like directstorage and dx12 ultimate, if its minimal, I won't care for it, shit is ugly as fuck.

Picked up Townscaper just as a sort of calming down game. It is that for like 2 minutes. Might come back to it to calm down for a few minutes every now and then...

But also I wish devs (and especially indie devs) would cap the framerate at first startup. I was wondering why my PC was so loud playing it. Turned out it was running with a FPS in the thousands. Makes me paranoid to just start games.

I tried the health app, told me my PC could not run it, thought for myself "okay lolz" and that's all I've thought about Win11 since then.

It's too long till it releases and when it does I still won't get it day 1 as I espect bugs and other stuff to appear, so I don't care about Win11 now and won't care until a week closer till release I guess.

I mean, I can't even bother to check the TPM stuff, whatever it is.

Right?! It looks so fucking good!

I was sure it was a limited thing too, so I had to jump on it when I saw it was back in stock.
Yeah that thing is long out of print from what I understand
I actually saw it in a shop yesterday (same where I got the Rei figure) but it was £175

i wonder what's more amazing between
- the accidental code fix by tf team that locked bots out for 2 hours
- the fixes which made bots basically useless, finally getting players to play the game for 20 mins until they realize "oh its tf2, there's been no actual new exciting content for 1300+ days", and then leave to idk play some other game
also probably stopped that dmc2 dante thing i was all about, sucks but that's just how the news goes when the hair isn't right and stuff, what can you do about that

been replaying JC3 more, i completed it once and was on the verge of doing it again until savefile got fucked, so i uninstalled it and then installed it again when i got my new harddrive working, pretty great game right alongside MGSV
also managed to snag one of those SMTV limited editions, scalpers suck but luckly was fast enough to get one before they empty'd out amazon's stock

Yeah, it's super expensive. Honestly, if it wasn't for the extra discounts I get at this bookstore and some store credit I had that slashed about 50 bucks off the price, I might not have been able to pull the trigger. :sweaty-blob:

I haven't bought anything either. I did faf with the interactive story stuff. It was fun, and having more steam stickers for when Discord goes to poop and my friendgroup might migrate to Steam Chat will pay off in the next 5-10 years or so.

Also, TIL my PC is actually DirectStorage compatible. I was expecting to have to buy a new motherboard made to support that but nope! Just need an actual NVMe drive.

had a quick look on Amazon and it’s going for £280 there.

the one I am glad I do still have is the hardback/slipcase edition for Nausica. Lovely edition. Still a great read.

Literally built a new desktop today for work (with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5) and did the Windows 11 test and it failed because of TPM.

Spent the best part of an hour searching for obscure settings on my BIOS because each motherboard manufacturer has their own name for every feature, and I eventually found the TPM toggle and turned it on.

Now I will have to find it on my main gaming PC, no doubt under a completely different name.

pretty much this :-D
its like people are forgetting this is microsoft :upside-down-face:
and panicking over technoogy that wont be properly used for years anyway

AHA-Lambda Define "lately". I replayed it a few years ago and yeah, it's aged for sure. Badly though, i dunno.
There's some good and interesting ideas and scenarios in the game but it lacked a certain spark or magic that made it special. It was overshadowed at the time too but i found it to be a decent enough "Of-the Era" game.

I'll have to watch that video later, oh and don't forget to post it in the Youtube Game Video thread.

edit: there was a DX11 Renderer released for it earlier this year too... and it's £1.09 so i may have to get it on GOG.

... and an ESRGAN Pack. Wow. That's a lot of love for a badly aged game.
