They only unlock in HITMAN 2.
Essentially, all locations (both the first season, and second season) are DLCs on the HITMAN 2 tab.
By playing the locations in HITMAN 2, you are playing HITMAN 2, not HITMAN, so the achievements (which are basically the same) only unlock in HITMAN 2.
I was thinking that maybe there were achievements that were tied to the maps from HM1 that also were in HM2?

Yeah, that mirrors my experience.

There are exceptions, but they are exceedingly rare and/or unlikely. Basically, if Epic funded Pillars of Eternity 3, or gave Yoko Taro a boatload of money for a new Nier, and they were exclusive forever, then I might be swayed. But that's pretty much an exhaustive list.

No, wait, Might and Magic XI by the X team, with a larger budget. Do it Epic and you got me (first need to buy the IP from Ubisoft I guess, otherwise you won't prevent them from putting it on Uplay :p).
I hear you on getting an XI but I think blobbers are probably deader than CRPGs were 10 years ago. It's sad because I enjoy the hell out of them to the point of even suffering through the old Game Pass to play Operencia.

All locations of the first season have achievements in HITMAN 2.
And, they are pretty much the same as in HITMAN (they may have removed or changed a couple, but that's it).

So yeah, playing season 1 locations unlock achievements in HITMAN 2, but not in HITMAN.
If you play them in HITMAN, they unlock there, but not in HITMAN 2.

Again, same locations, same achievements, different game.
And yes, I mean achievements specific to each location.

Yeah, I agree. Especially the particular type of blobber I enjoy most, which is the Might and Magic -like (ie. not primarily dungeon-focused).
And sadly, in this particular case -- and unlike CRPGs in general -- it's not really that you can just blame publishers for not making them despite demand. The demand itself just seems rather low. Too bad.

Alright sounds good! Been meaning to try out HM1 but yeah will do it in HM2!

For me, now, I would say no game, none whatsoever, would make me use their store. :)

Heck, I was crazy about the Shenmue series (and I do mean crazy about it; I even collected demo discs, promotional vhs tapes, ...), and I was always a big fan of Julian Gollop's work (to a point where I owned all his games, and bought a couple of portable consoles to play some of his later games), and not even Shenmue III, and Phoenix Point, both of which I dropped big amounts of € on, made me install the platform. I just refunded them.

Once I did that for these 2, there's no chance in hell I'll ever use it for any game.
I won't even redeem the free games.

When they launched their store, if they, say, invested in some new titles for their platform, like some of their own IPs (I kept waiting for them to release a new Unreal Tournament), I would gladly use their store.
I buy games from every platform under the sun, so it would be no different with the EGS.

But instead, they choose to just annoy, and almost "bully" people into using their store, by going after games that were crowdfunded and promised on other platforms, by going after games for which I was a beta tester for on Steam (like Operencia), by going after games that were just about to launch elsewhere, and even had pre-orders open in other platforms, and similiar crap.

Timmy apparently runs their business as if he's playing an online shooter, where trash talk and annoying people is part of the course.
That may work with some people, especially a younger crowd. With me, after the crap they pulled with games I helped crowdfund, they can forget it.

I love Remedy, but I feel sad for them. All these deals they are making feels like Remedy is living on these deals. Their games are great, but didn't do commercially well, so they are apparently just hoping to nab bags of cashes from different companies.

Here's a Hitman key in case anyone missed the giveaway.

Spent a couple of minutes trying to load that page without any luck but you've made my day!

On a side note, I've been playing a lot of Shenzen I/O and it's great. I think it might be my favorite Zachtronics game simply due to the fact of how similar to real programming language it is.
But this puzzle is trying my patience, not because it's hard to understand what to do but because I always end up needing one extra line of code than what the uC allows me to...

Maybe it's a problem with marketing and the resulting perception, I wouldn't think SMT mainline can be so much more popular than blobbers on merits alone.

it's out! :)
Oof. I was expecting it to be much more than the mobile ports but $30 is out of my impulse buy range. I like the room games a lot so I'll definitely buy it, just maybe not today :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:

Also I have like 12 tabs open from scrolling through this page of stuff to look at now, and I'm already not making progress on my backlog. I am fortunate to be able to work remote, but of course that means no real increase in spare time :ripblob:

Well, it's probably an understatement to say that SNK Heroines would not have sold any better on EGS. So it's not about sales. If it's not about sales, then it's surely about revenge. I think that's how it works in Japan. So I conclude that Samurai Shodown on EGS is to punish their PC fans. I also imagine SNK corporate office to have a 24/7 open bar and that's where these decisions get made.

Imagine if Square stealth releases FVIIR on PC on PS4 launch, the contract simply just stated that they couldn't market the PC version.

Anyways, won't have time to play FFVIIR for a long time anyways. Wanna play some of the other FF games first.

Yikes @ SNK. So what of all their other games on Steam?

Some times I wish there was some consequence and risk of burning bridges with such bs so they just don't do it, but Valve's too nice and that's why they rule.

Neat, never found the right moment to buy Elliot Quest.

Though maybe I should try to finish some games... I'm getting backlogged on games that I've just installed, there's just so much shit coming out and so many offers... I'm not done with Zero No Kiseki, while I have Black Mesa, Turok, The Surge 2, A Short Hike and Anodyne 2 ready to play :fearful-face:

Can't recommend Yoku's Island enough. The game is an absolute joy to play.
Funny thing with Yoku is that I remember it very positively. Then I replayed it a few months ago, and when you get to where you have to use the grapple hook a lot, I remembered how frustrating that was. I wish they just left that bit out.
