What's baffling is that the only scenarios this get passed as a final product is:

  • They don't playtest the encounter at all
  • The playtester(s) didn't find it intrusive
The first world is also known for affecting people with motion sickness.

I think the game has a cult following. Could see the above mentioned companies being interested in bringing it to the West.
I don't really care about this either way, but it would be odd to never bring it to the West.
I mean that's pretty much the whole thing about FSN Réalta Nua and everything regarding the franchise that's purely T-M without other companies involved (Manga, Light novels etc), the best we got from T-M so far is an english option for Fate/Extra Remake

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed going from demo -> game than this one. The demo was pretty fun and showed lots of promise, and then the EA game came out and.... it's basically 1/15th of the actual content I would expect from a game like that, and a bunch of iffy design / balance decisions on top. Almost no class choices, very small level cap, they tweaked some tabletop rules for the worse (some of which might have been addressed but I refunded it after 10 minutes). I know they're small but it's just so underwhelming. 6 classes available out of the 13+ I would expect and talk of "maybe" adding 1 as a DLC later.

I'd really love to get a digital version of 4E D&D someday but that's super unlikely, given the (unwarranted) public hate it got, even though it would be one of the easiest to adapt to digital probably.
Damn this is super sad to read, I was looking forward to this one.
It seemed strange that they were releasing the game already when the first announced date was 2022 but they seem to have cut content left and right. I'll leave it in a "maybe bundled" pile.

funny that reaction of my DnD junkie friend is totally opposite after 20h in EA build :-D He even claims that as far as adaptation of 5e goes Solasta does it better than BG3 :upside-down-face:

i guess i gotta judge it on my own when v1.0 hits with such conflicting reports:dizzy-face:

How do you know that it's only 1/15th of content of what you would expect from 10 minutes of play? Just curious. All I know is that the EA only has 1 act and the full game will have 3 and it'll take around 40 hours to complete.

The full quote is even funnier.
I can't believe those quotes are real.
And at the very end he says that if people play on a 24" monitor that's more than enough to make him happy. This is hilarious.

I think he's right on the mechanical side but the EA build's writing is rather appalling. They managed to unironically say "piss" 4 or 5 times in the intro that I've seen.

Also, Savior is absolutely amazing and pretty much my dream Seirei no Moribito spear-fighting game..

It's a 3D platformer that controls pretty well, the levels don't overstay their welcome and there are leaderboards with the fastest times!

Its disappointing but I mean i'll still play it. Its only $40 and GMG will probably have it for 22% off anyway. I never played 2 or 3 so i'm still looking forward to it regardless.
yeah, but it still sucks ... kecmo are a joke

and the regional pricing will be pure bullshit as well, as with all their recent releases

Recently it feels like all the gaming news I want to care about is monkey paw bullshit. :weary-face:

Ninja Gaiden collection! Vita sigma versions...
New Melty Blood with rollback! No PC release...
New Pinball FX iteration! Have to rebuy tables and egsclusive on top of that...
New generation of graphics cards! Chip shortages and crypto nonsense...
SMT3 Nocturne on PC! Denuvo and a fat price tag...
Kingdom Hearts on PC! Egsclusive and with comical prices...
Judgment port! To Stadia...
Old games I liked getting patches! On Windows Store only...

Is this it? Is PC gaming finally dying? :ripblob:

PC Gaming for the last 20 years... just loop it for the next 20 years also.

My search skills let me down and i couldn't get any hammy acted long comedy dying scenes where the actor really chews the furniture. Am sad.

so apparently the Ninja Gaiden 1 we're getting in the collection is not only the shitty Sigma version ... but also the Vita version, not the PS3 one

kecmo gonna kecmo

:toucan:
:jj_mofo: I wonder what their excuse will be for this.

Edit: Hopefully, it was just the Vita version being showcased for the Switch. PC will still have the PS3 version, right guys? :weary-face:

Because of the listed content in addition to the actual complete lack of character options from the start. They give you SO LITTLE to work with. Also, from having played D&D IRL and CRPGs for close to 3 decades, level cap of 6-8 after 40 hours in a D&D video game reeks of artificially stretching stuff out which is one of the most annoying things to me in games (looking at you, Portia, worst offender of them all).

1/15th could be read as hyperbolic but when you consider the depth that more classes, more backgrounds, more specialization options, and a few more areas add, I really don't think it is. It's not like I played BG2 with every single class available to the protagonist but at least I was able to make a character that I cared about and was interested in mechanically, which I couldn't do here.

Further, I dislike that nowhere on their store page did it mention anything about all the basic, core 5E ruleset stuff they were limiting / omitting. I just checked and they still don't. The only reason I was able to find out they might add classes later (again, core classes, not like custom or anything) was searching on the forums and a backer saying they had mentioned once maybe adding ones as DLC. They mention the level limit in the EA notes as going up to 10 eventually but according to the latest notes, it's 8.

Some of this lack will not mean anything to people but it's huge to me. It's literally why I would play a D&D game - honestly this may have been better off not even bothering using the license and going with some homebrew rules, they are using so little of it.

I can't speak to if they've fixed the various balance decisions that initial impressions seemed to have issues with obviously, but at least one of them (the way lighting affected disadvantage) made me question how of much their own game they had playtested, because it was really clearly not fun. I do still see a number of comments talking about how fights are grindy because of a lot of missing constantly.

What did epic do?
Epic banned wager matches which are custom player hosted games where competitive players compete in independent tournaments for money. Sometimes letting audience members bet on the players as well. Wager matches are pretty much gambling, and most of the players participating in them (including the main streamer who's warning from Epic kicked off #ripfortnite) are underage.

Stream sniping is a massive issue in Fortnite in particular so this is pretty much the only way competitive streamers can play without annoying 12 year olds stream sniping them and now that they can't do it, So people are pissed about it.
