4070 rumored to be $749?? Nvidia couldn’t possibly be that stupid right? Right??

If this is the case I might just throw my upgrade money at a PS5. I love PC gaming, but I can’t justify this new mid range pricing.

It's the same company that made their xx80 card over $1000 so yes they are that dumb :P

The fact that AMD is not exploiting Nvidia's greed to gain market share is baffling to me. They should lower the MSRP of the 7900 XT to $800 Asap

It pretty much already is. I was eyeballing a couple open box models at my local Microcenter for under $800.

With everything that's speculated about the 4070 that price would be unexpectedly high even for current nvidia pricing... i could easily see them be "generous" and go down to $699 though when the card should really be 600 or less.

For the record, we have this thread here: Discussion - What on earth is SNEG? (Or how GOG.com quietly dropped out of self-publishing)
;) I remembered reading about this here.
Yeah I feel bad that I completely missed that thread somehow

Currently none of those titles from the "Silver Box" are listed at all on GOG but they do like shadowdropping stuff near release so it might end up there closer to it since most everything else published/released by Sneg is on GOG

I mean i hope it does....

I'd much prefer it on GOG than on steam but whatever I guess

I really gotta urge people to look at second hand GPU market, until nVidia and AMD get to their senses. At least in my country there are plenty 3080Tis and such, often still with some warranty on them, for much better prices.
Better than going the console way :p

"Here's all the $10 DLCs we want to sell you that don't carry over into the sequel that is coming out this same year"

These are all content creator packs, which are usually $6 or less (in the US) and go on discount various places anyway. AND the money does go, in some percentage, to the actual creators, not just Paradox. AND plenty of people are going to stick to C:S 1 for years to come I have to assume.

Not going to defend the lack of actual quality patches they have put into C:S over the years, but if you don't buy the DLC day-of you can usually get more stuff for same price or less of an old "expansion" games used to have. I think I've gotten almost all the C:S DLC for less than $50 which is less than I used to pay for 2 expansions on stuff (MMO, RTS, what have you). And I'll take small scale DLC (and creator support packs) over MTX any day of the year.

In anticipation for the sale, I am already doing my favorite thing in those occasions. Culling the wishlist.

I will acknowledge that I'm not in high spirits these days, and that my choice paralysis regarding which game to play is really tiring me... but still. Having 1700+ games on steam is already redonkulous, but 370+ in the wishlist is the cherry on top.
So culling I will do :smirking-face:

Already nuked 70 or something. Ideally I would like my wishlist to not exceed 100 games, but bruhs, I'm a realist. 200 would already be some stellar number.

I have negative need to buy anything, but since my birthday falls right into the sale I'll probably end up buying something :ripblob:.
Will need to look at what's on sale and what I feel like treating myself with, but maybe Persona 5 or Cold Steel 3 & 4 for right after Azure.

Lol @ Square leaving KH on Epic. We are so close to being done with the bullshit. I just need THPS from Epic, Far Cry 6, and MW2 Remastered from Blizz. Wouldn't mind getting Steam versions of Diablo 2/3/4 too.

Also, discovered that COD Vanguard has broken achievements last night - anything that is cumulative doesn't seem to unlock. Steam forums confirmed :(

Im curios what the new, affordable price is, cuz looking at the EGS, its still 60€ and 90€ there

Steam Seal today!

I'd love to see Octopath Traveler 2 see some kind of discount. Anything to make the taste of standard full-price gaming go down a little smoother. Coming out of S/E, expectations firmly in check though.

Distant Worlds 2 has its first DLC dropping today. The game launch came in pretty hot and was met with Mixed reviews. But to the devs credit they stuck with it over the year and the latest Aurora update was g/d huge, delivering on launch day promises & expectations. Community seems really happy with DW2 in its current state which makes me a bit more enticed by the new DLC drop.

I always mean to pick up a classic Nancy Drew p&c adventure or two during these seals but I inevitably get analysis paralysis 'cause there's like 30 of them on Steam, lol. I've poured through various Top 10 and overall ranking lists for the franchise so I do have a sense of the fan favorites. I just need to commit to one and go for it.

Should be 40$ for the base game, at least that's the pricing on Square Enix store.

It's way past due time to still expect proper pricing from Nvidia, ever since covid times pricing on their cards been and still will be a mess
