SOON

In all the ACs I've been playing these last few months the main story missions could usually be beaten in less than 20 hours. It's the extra content, collectibles and tons of other stuff that pad the hell out of their length.
Yeat, maybe AC was a bad example. I was thinking something like Destiny, where within one week people run out of things to do, hence the need to churn out updates so the people wont abandon the game.

Lego DC Super Villians added dlc about 6 days but broke something and now that DLC pack and two previous ones are inaccessible. No sign of any interest in fixing it from TT or WB.
Also is this new, the language and format seems different.

I see now, and yes, I agree with this. Games that demand constant engagement require new content at a certain pace, or an incredibly good gameplay loop so people won't get bored of playing the same maps for years.

Well I'm playing Wandersong currently, and damn that is a nice slice of wholesome as fuck goodness. So gosh darn charming!

I've also just completed Call of Cthulhu (2018), was decent on the whole, even if not particularly noteworthy in much sense.
It's very linear and the gameplay isn't deep really at all, but if you've a penchant for Cthulhu aesthetic then I think it's worth a look on a sale.

I uninstalled Ashen after 3 hours over how trite it was.
"What if Dark Souls had fetch quests?" isn't a question interesting enough to require a 20 hour long answer.
Glad good guy Tim had paid for my copy.

oh god that sounds awful.
welp that's one from my list off then.

Actually, I've seen games being called "dead" way to often.

Here's two recent examples :

Slay the Spire:

My Time At Portia:

yet another devolver game ... and they were supposed to be consumer-friendly ....
That's the part of E3 that actually has me dreading the whole thing. I really haven't had much interest in the whole event for a few years, but now that some people have pushed back against Devolver I wouldn't be surprised if they throw around a bunch of buzz words and misinformation during their show.

Probably meant jokingly of course though it won't stop a bunch of people from eating it up and treating it as gospel.

well their "shows" are pre-recorded anyway ... so at least there won't be any people to boo them on stage :P

Anyone know when Rage 2 Embargo is? Did they send review copies or do we have to wait until after release?

i don't think anyone knows ... google gives me nothing ... guess they haven't announced that either

I guess I could buy and then return if it is garbage on Steam, or if it makes me launch Bethesda.net or something. Not much info about the Steam version.

German mag GameStar released a preview video this week which is based on the review code. He said it's great fun to play but like Mad Max and Just Cause (all Avalanche) things get repetitive rather fast. Since he didn't get to the end yet can't give a final verdict and say how bad the repetitiveness really is overall. Looks good enough to me.

Sounds good to me. I loved Mad Max, JC3 was fun too but it did get a bit too repetitive near the end.

That's a thing? Why am I surprised.. of course it's a thing.
I dont remember which one was but it was something like 'i cant go on anymore man' and other brands came to 'help' it. It was bizarre.

Edit: Yep, what Ryna posted is what I was referring to.

exactly ...

so that's now 2 games ... and it might even look like that John Wick one isn't moneyhatted (or at least no one called it an exclusive yet) ... they might just releasing it there, and nowhere else ...

Guess I'm glad I haven't had Sunny D in like 12 years. Man.. screw that garbage and any brand that pulls that nonsense.

My follow up question was going to ask if it was at least in a supportive way, but I see that's not the case.

Ok doke, trawling through the depths of Discord I have found the following on upcoming Devolver releases, from their official accounts

John Wick
All we can say for now is that the game will be an Epic Store Exclusive at Launch. Who knows what will happen later and we're always open to later platform suggestions.

Metal Wolf Chaos XD
MWC XD hits Steam, PS4, and XB1 this summer. Don’t you fret.

My Friend Pedro
My Friend Pedro will 100% be on Steam.

"John Wick Hex is in development for consoles and will be available for Windows PC and Mac exclusively via the Epic Games Store at launch "

Seems like the last content patch (5.0) for Pillars of Eternity 2 hit today! Turn based mode is finally out of the beta branch and they actually added some new story content to the critical story path which is neat. Time to actually start it up!

For those who don't wanna watch:
New ship UI
Turn based mode officially released
New story content for critical path
Anarchist path revised
Some revised rules for the PoE PnP version
The return of the ultimate challenge (first 50 people to show proof of completion get a physical patch, first 12 get their name/character name/etc engraved on a plaque)

My trusty headphones died. :(

And the other set i had lying around here have far too much bass.
Gonna be a pain in the ass looking for a good replacement.

My condolences. Sadly, I also lost some of my hardware: a 30TB 5-bay NAS (apparently it's still under warranty).
