Yuuta Iridatsu is a pretty normal high school kid, with one exception: he faints if he sees girls’ panties. You never quite notice how frequent panty flashes can be until they ruin your day – he has to not look, or it’s lights out!
When he one day finds himself in the midst of a bus hijacking incident, he meets the famed vigilante crime fighter Strange Juice, and something unexpected happens to Yuuta – his soul separates from his body. Stuck in a ghostly incorporeal form, he finds that his penchant for panties has disastrous consequences.
While a ghost form lends itself to panty sightings galore, allowing Yuuta to wander unseen, looking up skirts and causing shenanigans, there’s a terrible catch: if he sees too many panties, Yuuta gets too excited, faints, and somehow causes an asteroid to hit the Earth and destroy all life on the planet.
Able to travel back in time to before the destruction of the Earth, Yuuta’s task is clear – solve this mystery! What happened to turn Yuuta into a ghost? How can he time travel? Why does fainting at the sight of panties cause destruction of the world!?
Answers must be found! …right after checking out the panties on that girl over there.
Anime was great fun so i will probably get this.
Punch Line finally on Steam tomorrow
Generally, for cases like this I do external FXAA + downsampling. (FXAA is effective at minimizing aliasing and downsampling restores any detail potentially lost by it -- though it's not like there's a lot of that in Atelier in the first place!)I totally forgot what the Punch Line anime was all about. Anyway, I hope it's good.
To my surprise, the Atelier Arland trilogy wasn't locked to 1080p. It can't detect DSR resolutions, but you can edit the .ini file and set the resolution there. Also unlocked framerate.
Sadly, no effective anti-aliasing solution. The aliasing is still present even at 2880p.
While they have resolution options, Atelier Rorona and Meruru's internal resolution is still 1080p despite what you set (and so the games look very aliased even at high resolutions, they're still running at 1080p after all).I totally forgot what the Punch Line anime was all about. i still remember playing the original back in the daySlight price reduction, still on my wishlist
Me too. The problem was that getting to stage 2 was soooo hard, it's one of those insane difficult games from the past.i still remember playing the original back in the day
I wonder if "featuring Ray Parker Jr's theme" will mean the 15 secind
also looking forward to playing it next yearSinking City looks great, i can't wait for next year.
yeah, no kidding ... it was (and still is, i guess) HARD!Me too. The problem was that getting to stage 2 was soooo hard, it's one of those insane difficult games from the past.
Yeah, that sounds like a KT port. While they have resolution options, Atelier Rorona and Meruru's internal resolution is still 1080p despite what you set (and so the games look very aliased even at high resolutions, they're still running at 1080p after all).
For some reason, only Totori runs properly at the selected resolution.
Someone said that Fahrenheit was one of the best adventure games of all time? They said this about Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy, but I wasn't impressed.
Wasn't fahrenheit's HD remaster done by QD? This is done by AI. I've heard good things, and the game is 20 years old, any graphical upgrades are likely to be an improvement. I remember the game looked like mud when I first played it years ago. They said this about Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy, but I wasn't impressed.
... aaaaaaand confirmed exclusive (not that anyone was expecting anything else after that last announcement)
What? Who said Fahrenheit was one of the best adventure games? I mean, yeah, it was one of the best "did you see that ridiculous sex scene? Wtf does the cat here? What is going on? What exactly did I just play?!" game if that's a genre. They said this about Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy, but I wasn't impressed.
Lol. Test version is still in my Steam Library. Fuck off.
... aaaaaaand confirmed exclusive (not that anyone was expecting anything else after that last announcement)
Well, I'm hoping to hear from them soon on how I'll be refunded. Clearly, expecting them to send an email informing those who already paid for the game about this was clearly asking too much.... aaaaaaand confirmed exclusive (not that anyone was expecting anything else after that last announcement)
yeah ... the one sane changeAnd they rebrand it to Rune II.
at least they're trying ... that's commendableMordhau had its first ban wave yesterday but things didn't go so well as a bunch of people ended being banned for no apparent reason. Devs opened a thread in their forums so people can dispute the ban, and they have been reversing some bans by themselves too.
i mean ... it was pretty much confirmed after their last announcement ... so it's not exactly surprisingLol. Test version is still in my Steam Library. Fuck off.
yup, really sadWell, I'm hoping to hear from them soon on how I'll be refunded. Clearly, expecting them to send an email informing those who already paid for the game about this was clearly asking too much.
I dropped a decent amount of cash pre-ordering the most expensive edition of the game last year, with the promise of a Steam key, and if they aren't delivering, I expect to get my money back quickly.
Bad news: one less developer to support.
Good news: more money in my pocket to support other developers, and buy a bucketload of Blu-Ray discs.
Someone said that Fahrenheit was one of the best adventure games of all time?
Anyway, The Longest Journey totally is. I absolutely recommend it.

It was on one of those "All-time best in genre" lists back in the GAF days. Between it and Nier, I am highly skeptical when ppl say OMG YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS!What? correct, yes ... and they were already conducting alpha tests through steam (more than once, i believe)It wasn't crowdfunded but they essentially took preorders for a steam early access / beta version right?
Guess I'll treat this as another kickstarter fraud then even if it wasn't technically crowdfunded. I'm sure they used the preorder money as investment.correct, yes ... and they were already conducting alpha tests through steam (more than once, i believe)
Bro.Between it and Nier
damn i am, still pissed that in the end they made it to be just generic coop survival game with the fun Rune combat (the alpha i playes was pretty much poor mans Onan Exodus with fun combat)
... aaaaaaand confirmed exclusive (not that anyone was expecting anything else after that last announcement)
i'd be surprised if they hadn't ... so yeah, kindaGuess I'll treat this as another kickstarter fraud then even if it wasn't technically crowdfunded. I'm sure they used the preorder money as investment.
pretty sure that's almost entirely due to the abysmal regional pricing (or lack thereof)Oh boy, Team Sonic Racing is at 500 players in Steam. After the popularity of the previous entries I wasn't expecting that low number of players
You can play and enjoy it on its own, yes.Is Longest Journey a stand-alone game?
It's story is stand alone, though there are 'sequels' that take place in the same universe and are tangentially related to the characters, but Dreamfall and Dreamfall Chapters are not by any means required to enjoy and get the most out of TLJIt was on one of those "All-time best in genre" lists back in the GAF days. Is Longest Journey a stand-alone game?
These games are interactive movies. The longest journey is a point & click adventure with actual puzzles. They said this about Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy, but I wasn't impressed.
It's incredible that devs are still making exclusivity deals with Epic after the many outrages against their moneyhats and storefront. I guess they really don't care...... aaaaaaand confirmed exclusive (not that anyone was expecting anything else after that last announcement)
or they really need itIt's incredible that devs are still making exclusivity deals with Epic after the many outrages against their moneyhats and storefront. I guess they really don't care...
HumanHead might have needed that money more than EA/preorders was providing up to this point. They must have thought 'Can't be worse than Bethesda'These games are interactive movies. The longest journey is a point & click adventure with actual puzzles.

I don't doubt that they needed it.or they really need it
either way - i really wish they had at least tried doing early access first ... because clearly website pre-orders weren't all that great ... or something
Price is shit and I can only speak for myself but it looks like a regression from Transformed. I wanted Transformed 2 with even more Sega characters and zanier racing, not "Sonic R but good".Oh boy, Team Sonic Racing is at 500 players in Steam. After the popularity of the previous entries I wasn't expecting that low number of players
i believe so, yesSomething I was wondering about: do developers on Steam have a tracker for the amount of users who flagged their game to be ignored?
i can only imagine they got "barely" few hundred thousand $ from pre-orders and then epic came with a few million ... hence the decisionThey opened pre-orders for the game, with premium editions available, and I, and surely others, ended up buying the game (over a year before the expected delivery date) just to support their efforts, exactly because it's known that they are struggling.
well. they did the one thing that's worse than bethesda.HumanHead might have needed that money more than EA/preorders was providing up to this point. They must have thought 'Can't be worse than Bethesda'
