Something to note about Iceborne: MHW basegame was originally targetting "Fall 2018" on PC, but ended up dropping in early August. So "Winter" could mean November.

Yeah, on the stream they said that base game was half a year later, but this time they're targeting Winter. So the wording make it seems like 2-3 months later.

Super hate to be negative about it, but the delay on MHW: Iceborne is disappointing for me as the friends I play stuff with were considering switching to PC only if Iceborne released day-and-date. They aren't going to wait 2-3 months since they love Monster Hunter and it isn't reasonable to ask them to spend $80 to buy it twice, as well as redo everything over again after they just did it. That's basically put an end to my interest in Monster Hunter, unfortunately.

I've been struggling to find the time to play video games these days. It's Ramadan so I spend like an hour after fasting in the mosque for praying each night. After I'm back home I'd be too tired to play games, so instead I watch some drama or anime instead. When I'm really in the mood, i can still play for at most an hour in a day, but that's it. Fasting was never an obstacle for me before in the previous years, maybe I'm just getting old now. :negative-blob:

Review embargo lifted for it, though my actual review will take a bit longer. Death end re;Quest is great but a good PC port it is not. Rendering resolution is locked to 1080p, and the only graphical options is turning shadows and post-processing on or off. Very dissapointing.
On one hand it isnt a problem for me because I do game in 1080p. On the other, fuck this. There's no excuse for resolution locks.

Just beat Hitman 2, what a great game.

Yeah, it's frustrating. I had to install Special K to get the damn thing to use my whole screen (1440p), I also tried to override the resolution. I don't think it worked, but that could just be the heavy DoF they got going on.

I used to feel the same as you did. I try not to eat too much carbs/desserts during ramadan and i drink mostly water and it worked for me imo. I still feel tired or unmotivated to play games sometimes, though.

Urgh. Resolution locking is the devil. I hate it.

Game comes out in 2 weeks and still no info on wether or not the english localization is still happening :blobtide:

Interestingly, the publisher has a branch in Seattle. The English on their website is spotless, definitely not machine translated. They also have their own PC-Client called Sonkwo, for China...

I wonder if any of the E-mails listed on their "contact us" page would be of help...

For what it's worth, I do think the game will have English or at least they planned for it to in the start. After all, whenever they contacted media it was in English. And whenever they sent out a new trailer, it was always subbed.

the ones that accept Epic's deal while denying Kickstarter backers what they actually paid for are a special kind of shit. Devs that do that deserve no support whatsoever.

Exactly. Especially after the Phoenix Point outrage, devs making a similar deal with Epic can GTFO as far as I'm concerned. It's complete bonkers that so many people are fine with this.

So the big Cities Skylines news was another expansion. Hmm, Campus doesn't seem as interesting as the previous ones, though
I'll still buy it of course, I'm a sucker :cat-heart-blob:

Right, now that you mention it, now I remember that my dad never eat his dinner until he get back from the mosque. Eating too much will drain lots of energy from the body, right? I'll try doing that, thanks.

I got to say, STASIS is a really cool adventure game. I'm nearing the end of it and the experience has been great. Love the atmosphere even though some of the story beats and motifs remind you of other works.
The sound and visual design is really well made!

I really don't care if you ban me from this channel. SUPPORT THE CONTROLLER :: Titan Quest Anniversary Edition General Discussions
Okay so let's talk about the controller support for a few moments, shall we?

Adding full support for the controller is a massive project and one we are still very much planning on doing as soon as there is the time for it.

Right now post-release stuff for Atlantis have to be sorted first and then we are taking a good look at the console version as they still haven´t gotten the Ragnarok DLC nor the Atlantis DLC, due to multiple reasons.

Adding full controller support is as said a massive project and one that is in the plans, but right now there is no timeline or an ETA on when that project will be done.

Pieces have been very pro-active with the release of Atlantis and spent over 2 months in beta with community members to make sure even older bugs from AE was solved and taken care of, yet we cannot account for all bugs there is after a release due to the fact there is so many different combinations of hardware/software that can interfere and give a different outcome than what we have seen ourselves.

So long story short, it is in plans but no timeline yet and as soon as we have one it will be brought up on the dev blog site which you can find here - https://titanquestgame.com/ - below news.
There goes my Titan Quest controller support dreams.... :negative-blob:

Hell Yeah! was fun as hell, it warms my heart to see someone still remembers it.
Yes it was! I never really understood the mixed reception... Too bad Arkedo closed up shop. I realize I never tried their last game... Pööf, pööt or whatever.

I bought hell yeah when I really started to shift to Steam as my only gaming platform.
Actually, if I sort my Steam library using the "recent" filter, I get a ton of classics or games that I remember fondly... For example, Gish is near the bottom of the list and I had totally forgotten about it (I remember finding the 2D real-time raycasting absolutely mind-blowing... Back in the early 2000s***).

Yeah... [ smells flower ]... Back when the word "backlog" wasn't part of my vocabulary... [ sigh ]

***is there any other word than the very British-sounding "noughties"?

Can you please elaborate on this? I never saw a follow-up.

Wait, what happened?

I think both of you got replies that elaborated, but it was indeed about the timed events in Rage 2. That post was too off the cuff. Should've been a bit clearer, I suppose. I wrote this a couple of posts down from that one. Just something that has been really grinding my (completionist) gears, nothing serious :p

I think I posted about it a while ago, but I am personally just exhausted with timed events, exploitative "gotta keep up" quests, all that stuff. I had my fill in Destiny 2, Monster Hunter, Division, and a bunch of others. It feels bad. Like you're being manipulated. What happens with me is that playing a game becomes mechanical, a chore, and I stop enjoying it. But not until I spent way too much time trying to keep up like it's a second job, because I have a bit of a completionist problem. Better just to avoid it altogether, so I don't get dragged in again.

So out of the current Humble Sale, should I get YS VIII (which seems to be at a historic low of £31) or Covenant of Dusk: Labyrinth of Refrain?

Both are fantastic games, IMO, but for very different reasons. Ys VIII is a fast-paced ARPG, while Coven is a slower paced, dark and brooding DRPG. You can't go wrong with either.

NISA doesn't deserve that much money for Ys VIII, so not that at the very least.

If we're talking about translation and port quality, Coven is definitely better. I'd even argue that Coven has NISA's best translation, ever.

So with Breakpoint being pre-orderable on UPlay and EGS I assume it's not coming to Steam?

Shit. I guess we won't see WD3 and next AC on Steam either.

Oh right, that's true.
I am fine with uplay but I sitll wish Division 2 or Ghost Recon would be available on Steam.

Kiwami 2 humbled my rig with SSAA turned on, lmao. Can't even hit 60. It's super sharp though. SMAA is a decent alternative, but it's still a little bit softer around the edges.

Other than that, the framepacing seems pretty good, Hitting 60-80 fps at 1440p with single GPU, 100-130fps with SLI (yes, SLI actually works this time)

So? the ver. you bought is the one everyone would be playing even during EVO. If Arc go the route of Guilty Gear Xrd R, it'll be an update dlc you can pay for.

Doesn't matter if everyone at EVO is playing UNIST. I only play fighting games solo or with friends locally so online doesn't affect me at all.

It highly likely won't be an upgrade. The other 3 Under Night games are all just slightly expanded versions of eachother, but there is no upgrade option for any of them, and the fact that this is called UNCLR instead of an extension of UNIST doesn't really make it seem like a DLC.

Also Under Night hasn't been on Switch until now so its likely going to be a completely separate package. I hope that there is some sort of Steam discount for owners of UNIST if it does come to PC. But Arc isn't developing the game, and the lack of upgrade discount for UNIST doesn't really strike confidence.

Phew, you guys are really active, spent few hours trying to catch up with this thread after long weekends. Also dragged myself again into several time-consuming projects with no granted returns, because of course I am, so I can't really participate in most discussions and just going full read-only mode (and abuse like button when needed).

I'm close to finishing Yakuza Kiwami and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, both are good but kinda disappointing follow-ups for one of my most beloved games ever. Barely have time to play Devil May Cry 5 and Battlefleet Gothic: Armada II, despite really wanting to do that. Too much games, too little time...

Not sure why that'd be an issue because of Switch. Consider that there would also be those who don't own the game PC, Steam. etc.
On Switch, they can release the updated ver., for the other platforms, it can be a new release as well as an upgrade option.

Yup, it sucks to miss out on content because I played it late. The elusive targets and temporary missions in the new Hitmen are a perfect example of this. The latter even give you weapons and costumes, which you'll never get if you don't play those missions when the devs tell you to.

Is that title for real? Why can't they name their game like normal people?

People call it Under Night Latest or UNIST for a reason I guess lol. I assume they're going for UNCLR as the pronunciation this time around. But since its a leak the details are pretty unclear.

United Nations Committee for the Liberation of Rodents? Didn't know they were against animal testing in labs.

Yeah, not sure about the next AC since it might release after the EGS - Ubi deal ends (and if its not extended, of course), but WD3, GRB and whatever Ubi announces during this FY is going to be EGS and uPlay only.

yeah, it suuuucks so bad ... you'd think they'd have wisened up by now and just handed it off to QLOC or something ...

so stubborn, sigh

maybe I'm just getting old now. :negative-blob:

Shit. I guess we won't see WD3 and next AC on Steam either.

at this point - i'm gonna say there's basically zero chance they'll come to steam (even after 12 months)

I bought They are Billions from Humble Store now that it is on sale again. Bought it with the expiring credit and it looks like it was extended with six months. Yay! Plus that I got some credit back. Double yay!

Yeah, SSAA is brutal, it absolutely murders performance (it looks amazing though)-
I get 50-60 FPS with 1440p on Ultra - it's 60 most of the time, but drops a bit on some places in Sotenburi and sometimes a bit more in cutscenes (might be my CPU).
I'm certainly happy I got a new graphics card though, haha.

The game looks really good - except the SSAO, it's eh. I'm also a bit disappointed that the render scale doesn't go over 100%. Would have preferred it to downsampling.
