2020, another year in which the impossible becomes possible (playing a AAA Sony 1P game such as Horizon)

each year the PC reaches a new milestone, who would have guessed, let's say... 5 years ago, right?

It's intended to be a cheerful post :D

My initial thought and thinking about 2020 as a whole I thought Horizon suddenly went EGS or something

Anyone know of any good tutorials or beginner's guides for Total War Warhammer 2? I really want to jump in, but the game seems so intimidating.

I'm not sure if many people here keep up with it, but pc part promo stuff is pretty crazy. Like if you go to Dell and look at their G line of gaming laptops you will them showing off Code Vein. But strangely enough they don't mention Bandai in the credit stuff.

I think that in Japan for most PC gaming stuff outside of Esports the main Japanese games that they promoted for a while were MHW, FFXV, and FFXIV.

I looked this up because I wanted to see more about the DELL/AMD HZD thing

Gotta say, Kandagawa Jet Girls looks like a fun co-op game. Also the character designs are cuter (and looks slightly older) compared to Senran Kagura's characters.

:dana_think:

Sony will have no one but themselves to blame should the PC version sell poorly. It's true regardless of platforms : without solid marketing your game is doomed to fail.

Makes me wonder why did they greenlit a PC version at all, if it's sent out to die.
Ever heard of apex legends? Also how could you possibly think that a AAA game being released on steam that was previously a ps4 exclusive would not sell. Anybody with any common sense could tell you it's going to sell like hotcakes.

Apex is weird since the common notion is that EA just released the game, but supposedly they paid streamers to play the game as well and to build up hype when the game was out, which seemed to work.

The game is still popular, but it's not nearly as popular as it use to be.

Yeah HZD has been in the Steam top 10 most wishlisted for months, especially after EGS rumour mill which preceeds it. It's practically impossible to flop. Consider also it'll probably be discounted; perhaps heavily after 3-4 months. Plus people will be more inclined to buy it if it doesn't have Denuvo in tow. Hell, I'll probably pick it up myself for cheap a few years from now.

Umurangi Generation came out a few days ago, and apart from a couple of tweets, I haven't seen anything about it. It's cool though, so get this on your radar if you haven't already.

It's a photography game that's one-part trying to take cool pictures, and one-part scavenger hunt. Each level gives you some film, a list of photos to take, and then lets you explore. Sometimes the challenge is finding where an objective is located, but more often, it's about trying to find the right angle to get multiple subjects in frame at once. You've got a double-jump that feels bad, but it's enough to let you clamber all over the levels looking for the objectives and the angles you need to get the shot you want.

There are a few bonus objectives as well. Each level has a photo-postcard that you need to recreate by standing in a marked position and trying to work out the angle to recreate the shot. Your friends (3 humans and a penguin) appear in each level, and you have to try to compose a shot that gets them all in frame. There are a bunch of tiny film canisters to pick up, if you can find them all. There's also a reward for taking lots of photos to get cash (which serves no gameplay purpose, as far as I can tell), and another to complete all of the objective shots within a time limit.

By default, you just have a single lens and a couple of basic color tweaking filters that you can apply to your photos. Even with those, you can take some nice pictures, but you unlock more tools by progressing. Longer lenses, more filters, etc.

The game also has environmental storytelling. Umurangi takes place in the near future, and after a chill rooftop hangout level to get your started, you visit a UN-run military base on the top of a skyscraper, and follow that up with a grimy city block full of memorials to victims of presumed police violence. It's bleak, but compelling. There are lots of little details scattered about, and since the game is all about searching for shots, you get plenty of chances to find all these little details. It really wants you to poke around, and I've already found a couple of spots that seem like they were too obscure to justify putting in collectibles, but the devs still left little environmental details in them for players that explore enough.

Also, the soundtrack is killer. Seriously, listen to the trailer.

I'm not much of a photographer, but here are a couple of my pictures that I liked.

DJMAX RESPECT V is currently on sale.

May I ask:
-does the game have any in-game microtransactions, or is everything available as DLC?
-if I buy it today, have I missed anything (early buyer content, time-limited content, ...)?
-about the DLCs (which I noticed not all are listed on the store page, some like Groover Coaster DLC), do all add content, or are some of them (like the UNLOCK SONG PACK) merely early unlocks? To get all the in-game songs, which ones do I need?

thank you :)
It doesn't have in-game microtransactions (unless they've added them since I've played but I highly doubt it).
You're not missing out on any content, just missed out on getting the Emotional Sense Pack for free.
To get all the songs you ignore the Gear Packs (which are cosmetic), the Soundtracks and the Unlock Song Pack (it might take you a while to unlock all the songs normally, but it's not worth paying for imho).

My favorite songs are Miles, quixotic and UAD by the way.

Worth noting that the game uses kernel-level anti-cheat driver on PC, is online only last time I checked and doesn't allow you to change audio/video sync for some reason (devs said they are scared of Konami lawsuits, but that option is on PS4 AFAIR)

Baldr Sky comes highly recommended. I paid full price for it and it feels like a steal (which it technically is considering it's 2 games in 1).

Might be time to finally pick up Summer Pockets I say as i look at my dozens of VNs in my backlog with Uta Prelude showing up next week.

Might also finally pick up nekopara too.

Playing the map room level in Halo CE was such a frustrating experience last night. Endless copy-paste corridors and empty rooms, only a few different types of enemies and rockets that one-hit-kill you from miles away. The game also refused to recognize a checkpoint after one of the big battles. Aaargh! 😔

If that was already repetitive for you just wait until you get to The Library

Watching SkillUps Minecraft Dungeons review.

Sounds bland. According to him, it's a very simble and basic Diablo-ish game and it's short (he finished it in 3 hours on normal), 9 maps and they are very streamlined. You go from A to B, pick up some loot and defeat the bad guy.

He didn't like it. Will at least try it since it's on game pass. Most Diablo clones can't keep me interested particularly long. I think my favorite Diablo clone is still the first Torchlight (haven't played the sequel) and Grim Dawn never clicked for me.

I did like the little I played of Wolcen, but Im waiting for it to get more fixed.

Guess it's time to finally grab Life is Strange BTS deluxe edition, the card money I have brings it down to 2,53 euro.

You guys still have any hope of seeing Catherine FB on steam?

Family Man launching today

I'll still play it! :p
I like anything Diablo-esque. Game being short is also a plus nowadays for me lol.

True. These are not necessarily bad points. It is merely that one has to have realistic expectations. You are not going to play some hard-core game.

Finished RE3 on hard. I'm glad I had a lot of healing items for the final boss, needed every single one. Anyway, I friggin' love this game. I need more of these versions of Jill and Carlos, a lot more.

The final boss is really easy with the magnum because it one shots his eczema blobs so hes stunned 24/7

If things continue, I think someone who follows these things closely (wink wink Mor for example), should begin updating a calendar for events.
E3 is dead they said ! It's cool, they said ! Now mini-events pop left and right and I have no idea when is what :cryblob:

you're gonna love it ... it's amazing! :)

be sure to grab all the workshop stuff as well - it's all great

I do like a good puzzle game.

I picked up Portal bridge constructor which im enjoying a lot. It reminds me of Lemmings which was a game that my whole family got right into when we got our first computer (think it was a 486 back). We played as a team against my cousins family to try and get through each level first. Happy memories.

nice! :) and yeah - Portal Bridge Contructor is pretty cool too :D

I am in an emotional crisis. Want to keep my wishlist of games on Steam at 70 but it currently is at 71. Normally if it is that I go through it and look if I can toss something of for various reasons. This time though I went through it and wanted to keep everything on there. The other option would be to buy something that is on sale or otherwise. But nothing really is grabbing me currently because it is neither on sale and because I am currently on an old games kind of mood.

So now I have to live with the pain of knowing that my Steam wishlist is both, above 70 and an uneven number.

What do you mean?

I think they mean 'I'd like a calender of sorts that lets me know when an event is happening' made by people who have been following game news.
What he said !
Nothing against mini-events but they are multiplying fast.
I think I remember one announced for late June, then there is the Wholesome Games event for god knows when, and surely another million I'm already forgeting.
