A name I don't hear nearly enough.

Christ Loaded / Re-Loaded captivates me unlike most genre-adjacent peers.

I just can't explain it. Maybe it was a time & place thing. '95 was many moons ago.

I look at all the modern iterations and just nope the f out.

Even if it's an intelligent evolution in the Hack & Slash genre like Hades (gasp!).

So strange.

Maybe if they had a 0.50 Speed mode I might sign up, lol.

Prob not.

I am currently at the part of Valkyria Chronicles 4 were the game turns from a strategic/tactical game into a puzzle. Just as in VC1. Ambushes and superpowered units galore.

EDIT:
BTW, is anyone using HLTB to sort their Steam backlog? Any thoughts on it?
I used to have Backloggery but that had too many manual steps, since then I've resorted to a Google Sheets document to keep track of expenses and My Game Collection (Track, Organize & Discover) - Apps on Google Play on my phone.

I've now skipped 5 Humble Choice months in a row. December 2021 was the last one I considered "worth it" and that was only because I sold off some of the high profile keys to subsidize it to justify keeping the few games off my list. To be fair, I maybe would have gotten this month IF the C&C key had been Steam, but I have no interest in replaying those games again when mods are on the table except not for me. But I'm not going to get it for 2 lesser-known indie games off my wishlist.

I have a yearly plan so still a lot of months of credit to use but at this rate it will be 2-3 years before I used the remaining ~10 months. I renewed in September, then skipped Oct/Nov, got December, and skipped next 5. So actually at that ratio it would take me just under 4 years. Oof.

Remember when you got stuck in a game and there was no internet so you had to... talk to friends for help :fearful-face: (or find a magazine with a walkthrough :face-screaming-in-fear:)
I miss the days of old school magazines, especially the likes of zzzap 64 or Super Play (who are responsible for my love of Japanese games, anime and manga). With the fan submitted maps and guides.

I will try to sum it up regarding sales and performance expectations and reality.

  • Coffee Stain "Valheim" achieved a breakthrough success, with sales exceeding 10 million.
  • THQ Nordic "ELEX II" failed to meet management's financial expectations following its launch.
  • "Deep Rock Galactic" exceeded 10 million accumulated downloads.
  • Invisible Walls game "FIRST CLASS TROUBLE", exceeded 1.5 million downloads on PC and PS+.
  • Saber Interactive "Evil Dead : The Game" was released on Friday, May 13, 2022, with 500,000 copies sold in the first five days.
  • "Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands" was one of the strongest new IP launches in 2K´s history. Sales exceeded management’s expectations, however, due to the chosen business model, no royalty revenues for the game were recorded in the quarter. IP Owner Shared.
  • Asmodee Digital "Gloomhaven" has been downloaded more than 500.000 times since its launch in June 2021

Embracer Group plans to release 223 games in the next few years, including 25 AAA games that will be released by FY25-26.

I might have missed more interesting things so I apologise in advance. In any case do not worry, we have Mor to cover everything.

I'm kind of tempted by this since I've been in the mood for a strategy game, but I can't decide if I want to buy this, Songs of Conquest or Warhammer 40K Daemonhunters.

Assuming an even split between PS, Xbox and PC, Evil Dead probably sold about 166k on 🥚 so far.

Also is Tiny Tina really considered a new IP? I guess with regards to contracts between 2K and Embracer it is, but that's more of a technicality.

Ok just installed Voxelgram on the desktop again and my progress is still there. Is it a case of steam cloud not backup up the proper save like Scarlet Nexus ?

Today is also Deadcraft day !

Though while I surprisingly enjoyed the demo, it was very very Z (assumed) and I have my doubts about the full experience.
Deck compatible.

A good 10-15 euros games that will evidently be 30-40...

So Epic is now using % off for coupons instead of 10$. I guess they are done with losing money.
Seems that way. UK discount at flat rate was £10 at first, then £8 in the most recent sale. So £14 games, which many indies were priced at, could be had for £4.

To get an equivalent £10 discount you now need to buy a £40 game. Anything less than that will be less valuable than in the previous sale.

This will favour more expensive games for sure. Indies are about to have an even worse time on EGS.

“We are revealing the game now (Project Palianytsia) in this way to simply show people we are pushing on and also as a clear middle finger to those who thought they could just roll into our country hoping to disrupt and ruin our lives,”
“The name Palianytsia is symbolic to Ukraine as it’s considered part of our national cuisine. But it’s also the equivalent of phonetic Dark Souls for Russians who can’t pronounce it correctly when trying to pass off as Ukrainian. And so now it’s often used in the field as a test to quickly identify possible affiliation of unknown individuals.”

Yeah, but with loss leading tactics you’re supposed to price your competitors out of business, not watch them have back-to-back yearly growth while your own store stagnates.

Loss loser, more likely.
They're probably attempting to do so with the exclusives but so far it hasn't turn out well, yeah.

I've been playing more than a few games on Steam again thanks to the Steam Deck. It really was the perfect little device for Valve to introduce and get me back into PC gaming. I've been able to play all the indie fare I've been saving up with no issue.
It is my favorite gaming hardware that i bought since PS4 (PS4 was first console i ever owned). I love it so much.
