it's driving me nuts and I hate it.Why the hell do reddit video embeds autoplay, with audio. Every time that screws with me as I try to find the video on here that's yelling for my attention.
Man am i glad i grabbed the originals on steam prior to this debacle. Will peruse pcgamingwiki for the best way to get them shiny cause that definitive edition needs more time in the oven
After watching latest Bond movie i was again left disappointed because i am one of those people who really liked Q and crazy gadgets on top of kinda wacky set pieces and plots (i mean tell me that bond in space is not better than Bond in abandoned WW2 complex). So because i doubt that we will see too much departure from established grounded Craig Bond in next iteration of the character in the movie i realized that game will probably be more on the less series side than moves. I mean gadgets are kinda must from gameplay perspective and levels and setpieces have more chances to go to crazy places than the movie. So yeah i am more excited for the game than for the next movie.
Gotta say, I really enjoyed No Time To Die. Felt like a great way to end Craigs run, and didn't expect to see such a great film after the pretty abysmal Spectre. After watching latest Bond movie i was again left disappointed because i am one of those people who really liked Q and crazy gadgets on top of kinda wacky set pieces and plots (i mean tell me that bond in space is not better than Bond in abandoned WW2 complex). How. Did you went ham or is it not that long?done with first playthrough of SMTV
amazing game, but i got lied to about the endings, so i'll do a new game + to get THE ending
there's a great number of reasons:How. Did you went ham or is it not that long?
there's a great number of reasons:
- i have gotten 12 hours of sleep these past 3 days in total, that accounts to an average of 4 hours a day (the estimate made before on another post was wrong, this one is right)
- i didnt want to use a lot of time grinding (this game is VERY GRINDY HOLY CRAP), so i levelled up quickly with mitamas
- i have thrown away all responsibilites out of the window, the only things i have done is play smtv and watch impractical jokers
however, if i'm fair, the game feels a bit "short", but it was mainly because i didnt do side quests, which is a big regret as these side quests actually expand a lot on the plot
i suspect that, even though my new game + will transfer all of my stuff from the first playthrough, that this new game + playthrough will take longer than the first one in terms of playtime alone, for also a big number of reasons
- a guy is currently attempting to fight demi-fiend; he has end-game demons who are all at level 99, he has specialized loadouts and moves, he has basically everything prepared, but here's the kicker; he is at attempt 41 and is on the game's easiest difficulty
- i'll do a new playthrough where i get the cliche "true ending where there's an additional boss fight", which then implies doing a ton of stuff
you can always trust the japanese with great character design
Mine just arrived and will proceed to play it until March or something.Meanwhile I still haven't opened my copy of SMT V.
My copy won't even arrive for another 4 weeksMeanwhile I still haven't opened my copy of SMT V.
some tips without context:Mine just arrived and will proceed to play it until March or something.
I nearly binned my Jack Frost keychain thing i got as part of the pre-order. I had the poster, game and steelcase and was about to bin the padded envelope it came in when i thought it was a little heavy for paper and bubbles. Good job i checked because the Jack Frost keychain was down in the bottom corner.
It's now in a drawer with the Monster Hunter keychains and the HoloEN penta-trinket key fob.
We're still spoilt for choice in terms of pixel graphics games, but since N1RV Ann-A has been delayed indefinitely and World of Horror only recently emerges from development hell, there's not much development with games in pc-98 style.God, I want more Pc-98 lookin' games too. I would very much like for the large swath of PC-98 games out there to be saved with modern ports.
guess what , this is solved righ before week's end
I hope this is true. But at the same time, if the MP is plagued with issues, it's gonna be a rough holiday for Xbox.
Gimme Gimme Gimme Halo Infinite MP. I'm so excited.
If the mulitplayer does release tomorrow I'm guessing it's in a pretty good state, otherwise they would probably use the extra month of development time to work on it.I hope this is true. But at the same time, if the MP is plagued with issues, it's gonna be a rough holiday for Xbox.
Haha, same here. And I probably won't start it until I finish both Nocturne and Xenogears. So maybe early next year, when the PC port is already announced...Meanwhile I still haven't opened my copy of SMT V.
I have Chinatown Wars but as much as I tried to play it on phone it's not for me. Driving is issue in particular for me. There is simply not enough granularity or feedback like there is on gamepad. Basically anything that has standard controls with virtual gamepad i avoid on phones for that reason. All this talk about GTA has made me curious about the android ports. Anyone who has played them with the touch controls? Are they good?
How is Chinatown Wars? I've heard a lot of good stuff about that one....
What do you mean by blowtorch effect? Making certain things too bright? To my admittedly untrained eyes, Win11 HDR handling seems to be all kinds of busted, unfortunately.
You activate HDR and the first thing you realize is that it applies to windows globally, so say hello to blowtorch mode. You get used to it, no big deal. Then you notice that the blowtorch effect isn't always present, the monitor seems to still acknowledge the HDR so meh, ok I guess.
Then you discover that sometimes, on a single page of Meta for example, the blowtorch effect comes and go depending on where you are on the page.
I was beginning to really like HDR, even on my 400 nits monitor.
Can't you do something right with windows for once Microsoft ?
Actually bought it some days ago and I agree. Driving's a beach.I have Chinatown Wars but as much as I tried to play it on phone it's not for me. Driving is issue in particular for me. It is also good opportunity to drop Xbox emulator for PC...Although not owning a Series console yet, I am pretty excited towards the upcoming Xbox anniversary stream. Seems like a good time to review the console history as well as give a glimpse to the future.
I wonder is there a way to play it with controller in Windows 11 now that it supports Android apps.I have Chinatown Wars but as much as I tried to play it on phone it's not for me. I don't think there's much point in having this auto HDR active outside of games, as it's clearly something that's been designed with dynamic content in mind. That doesn't feel like useful criticism of this feature. To my admittedly untrained eyes, Win11 HDR handling seems to be all kinds of busted, unfortunately.

On my PC the transition from sdr to hdr clearly comes with a general brightness boost. What do you mean by blowtorch effect? Making certain things too bright?
Hmm ? Yeah, not sure I follow you, I would have preferred for hdr to not be a global setting that messes with my general windows IQ outside of games. It’s not the case.I don't think there's much point in having this auto HDR active outside of games, as it's clearly something that's been designed with dynamic content in mind. Hence the ‘even’ part of ‘even on my 400 nits monitor’.Also, not to be an ass here, but 400 NITS are nowhere bright enough for HDR to even really matter. You want a screen that can do ideally per-pixel-lighting (like OLED) or at least have a huge number of backlight zones (miniLED), and be able to maintain 1000 nits in local hotspots.
Nothing like that exists right now, OLED can do per-pixel lighting but can't be bright enough, and we probably wont see monitors that really perfect HDR until we reach the point that microLED becomes technologically and ecnomically viable for monitors and TVs.
Until then, I'd rather focus on getting a monitor that has a decent PPI, high refresh rates and decent VRR.
So it's not possible to set it to turn on only when full screen applications are running? Don't have Windows 11, so I just assumed it would be more than just a global "on/off" toggle. That's pretty dumb if that's how it currently works. MS should enable more options there.Hmm ? Yeah, not sure I follow you, I would have preferred for hdr to not be a global setting that mess my general windows IQ outside of games. It’s not the case.
I seen it on some high-end OLED screens, and it can look quite stunning, though even those can't really sustain high nits value for very long (as it risks burning out the OLED pixels).Hence the ‘even’ part of even on my 400 nits monitor.
I will be the first to admit in not being blown away by a lot of new tech, like hdr on my 4k Sony LED (never tried an oled though), so I’m not shilling for HDR. I just like what it does on my monitor, it’s, yeah, nice.
Anti-trust EU pls.
No, but afaik this wasn't an option in 10?So it's not possible to set it to turn on only when full screen applications are running? Don't have Windows 11, so I just assumed it would be more than just a global "on/off" toggle. That's pretty dumb if that's how it currently works. MS should enable more options there.
To be honest I didn’t try unchecking HDR in windows and activating it in a game settings. I suppose it wouldn’t work because windows is dumb like that with hdr, but maybe. So it's not possible to set it to turn on only when full screen applications are running? I think once we reach microLED, in a decade or so, where can have the same infinite contrast and essentially limitless brightness, HDR will just become a new norm on all devices and people will look back on images from LCDs as dull and overly dark in comparison.
The idea is that you would not use anywhere near the full brightness level very often, only for occasional effects. HDR is basically "less is more". You want to be able to create huge contrast momentarily, but you don't want to hurt people's eyes. Just as with audio, just because you want something capable of a wide range of sounds, doesn't mean you want to blast the user with a huge bass or crazy loud noise very often.About the screens not being adequate, I would just wonder about a full on 1000 nits screens with the viewing distance of a monitor. Wouldn’t that be too much ?
Yes, that's the PPI of a 27" 1440p monitor and it's plenty sharp at normal viewing distance.is 109 PPI good for a monitor?
