This is uh, something. Also no Switch version is baffling considering the popularity of Smash and how a lot of the characters probably resonate well with average Switch users.

I saw someone said Red Five straight up disappear after the update. :(
He still shows up in my file, but I never use him on my team so I'm kind of scared to see what happens if I select him.

My personal expectations for CD Projekt Red games is the perfect example of why I stay away from things like the stock-market.

When they announced The Witcher 2: "I don't know about that... instead of focusing on the storytelling side that was the first game greatest strength they are now going full action gameplay and really investing in graphics. This doesn't appear to be the best way to go."

Then The Witcher 3: "Ok, they pulled it off on last game but the maps were still very closed. Going full open-world is going to take a lot of resources, and how the hell they are going to keep up with the story side. A lot of what made the series special is going to be lost."

And then Cyberpunk: "Fine, they earned my trust. I can't wait of what they do with it!!"

100% failure rate in predictions :p
Just invest in stock for things you are sure will fail. If your 100% failure rate is consistent, you are bound to make lots of money.

Warner Smash Bros. looks alright for a clone and they certainly have varied characters but, you know, they aren't Sakurai, just imitators.

The animated Batman and Superman skins look really good in that multiversus trailer. I guess that is how they will be monetizing it. There is a lot of skins they can do. And ofc probably battle pass stuff as well for the grind.

Battlefield community is the worst tbh, i would've throwed everything away if i was in charge of Dice. Dealing with this kind of fan its impossible at this point, they are unreasonable and will never be satisfied
Remember when battlefield V was the worst battlefield game to the point that Dice removed a couple of customization thing because of the community? Now its the best battlefield ever made apparently
Its ridicolous.

Sounds like 2042 is less bloated (but the portal stuff seem like a pretty weird try to please everyone inclusion or something). I don't need a billion guns, they aren't shlooters. Also I hear most people complain about the gunplay but to me it sounds good, with the cone of fire spreading crazy in movement, less standing, less crouching, less prone, like the tactical FPS of old so that tactics, positioning etc., hopefully end up mattering more than pure twitch skill.

Every community has it issues but DICE took year off, they removed SP to make best MP BF game, and then continued to remove things that peope liked from previous games. What they released (will release this friday) really looks like early access game.

Yeah what dex said, sure the community can be bad but I don't understand why they removed so much of what one would take for granted in a BF game. It feels like they are trying to make a game for another audience instead of for those who love BF.

Its been YEARS that such a community ask for single player to be removed, one of the reason was to avoid having to deal with, so called, cod type of player. Now they want single player back? You see that there is an amount of hypocrisis that its unbearable?
Lot of things are simply different, others have been canned for gameplay reason, others are just absent because incomplete. I mean if we would do such a pointless 1:1 comparison for every sequel out there you would have such a list for every game available. Halo, doom, CoD, everyone
But its pointless because of how different the core gameplay of each game is from the predecessor. If you, community, just think that 2042 is just battlefield V with larger map than im sorry but we have a problem, and its not on dice

To be fair, I was hoping more of a return to form, like BF 4 or even like Bad company 2. From the trailers I got such a BF4 vibe so I was hyping so much.

As for single player, I never cared for it and didn't at all mind that they removed it. Biggest for me is destruction. And of yeah points for distance and headshots.:D One of my fondest moments in Bad Company 2 was getting a sniper shot from almost other side of the map, not only hitting the target but getting a headshot AND a double kill headshot. Seeing the points multiply like crazy was so sweet!

This is list of removed things not list of things that should be in the game at all cost. And again DICE removed SP part of the game to dedicate more resources to MP, took additional year and still delivered mediocre product that lacks basic features. And that's the point of that list. If the most popular thing in your brand new game is people playing recreation of your 10 year old game you messed something big time.

Oh fuck is this for real is it coming today like it shows in released list but doesn't yet have price etc. please don't be a lie I want my cake 🎂

Also please don't suck with that remixed campaign shit instead of offering both the PS1 and Saturn version variants exactly as they were

Edit: well, it's now removed from the latest releases list, I guess it was a placeholder date or whatever that they only bothered changing now it arrived and listed.

Crowdfunding gets a bad rap, and it's easy to understand why.
As soon as they get the funds on their hands, most developers quickly forget about whatever "promises" they made.

Undungeon just launched today, by developer Laughing Machines, and they are off to a great start.
They promised Linux support, and as it's becoming usual, Linux is nowhere to be found, and they are telling people to use Proton.

But what's best is that they had certain tiers that promised a number of exclusive in-game content, at a cost, and without any information they will not be offering this content. People paid a good amount to get these tiers, and they won't be delivered.

Their response on Kickstarter?
"Unfortunately, this reward will not be delivered."

And that's that.

Wonderful chaps these developers. :disapproval-blob:

Yes, I hope it doesn't suck with that mix and match deal instead of just offering both separately as they were. They weren't 2 games to combine in one now longer adventure and keep them intact, just different variants of 1 game with smaller and bigger changes here and there. Will they keep all the instances bomb jumping was useful on Saturn, or keep it in yet keep most of those level sections as they were on PS1 so it's a useless feature you don't even consider that one leftover time you need it (or alternatively make it so you accidentally break PS1 sections that didn't account for that ability), will level geometry still hint at the secrets and paths, or the stiching together make them more out of place, etc. Hopefully it feels seamless and right (I'd still prefer both but oh well).

Edit: well, it's now removed from the latest releases list, I guess it was a placeholder date or whatever that they only bothered changing now it arrived and listed.

Do we have a Linux thread?

I could not find one, but has anyone actually gotten Clip Studio Paint to work with Linux? I have seen various posts around the internet that have claimed to have it working , but most are older posts.

I was making a short list of programs that I use and looking up compatibility.

Well, you don't have to go far, they could have used Mafia 1 Definitive team too :p (2K Czech I think?)
thats pretty much just a shell of the former glory and both former 2k Czech studios has been renamed to Hangar 13 Brno and Prague
All these lackluster remasters makes me appreciate Vicarious Visions so much more.

Even though they're tied up with Blizzard, imagine if they were hired to remaster the GTA Trilogy

Instead, we ended up with GTA Reforged :negative-blob:
pretty sure they arent just tied up with blizzard ... they were dissolved into blizzard

I'm still excited for BF2042 myself, as soon as i can afford it i wanna get it. BF games just need a patch cycle or two usually. They always launch... bleh, but work out in the end.

I was still playing BF4 this summer from time to time, and people say that one had the worst launch ever! :p

For my open world needs, what should I get? I was considering maybe AC Vikings, or maybe FarCry 6. I do like guns more than melee. Maybe Watch dogs legion?

What I really want is a new Fallout.:(
They may not be what you're looking for, but two of my favorites in recent memory are Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Kenshi.

The former really excels at immersion and quest design. It's such a great feeling when a game rewards you for making logical assumptions (without the game telling you it's there) on how to proceed or take alternative paths in quests, and it does this in spades.

Kenshi on the other hand features an incredibly alien and dangerous world that I couldn't help but love. It's also a master of emergent storytelling.

Did check out Kingdom Come, always wanted to play it but since I'm limited to the xbox series S and it seems to only be 30fps there I have to wait for my steam deck. Already have it on steam.

I've recently been playing some State of Decay 2. Open world, survival where you have to keep your community safe and well-fed. Also has perma-death for all characters.

Also, it's not quite as unrelenting as State of Decay 1.
Ah yeah been playing that quite a bit! Finished the main portion of the game. Loved it and hyped for the third one.
