Forgot to pick it up on sale during Halloween but it's all good, was only a couple dollars savings so decided to pick this up today and shiiiiiit this game deserves full price :love: only played 15 minutes and I'm already in love. Also, any game with a grapple hook is an instant winner

I was tempted to grab Harvestella. Reading some of the previews is putting me off grabbing the game. Or at least until there is a decent discount/sale.

The issue I have is that it is a JRPG as well. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good JRPG. However, one of the things I love about Stardew Valley or My Time in Portia is that once the game starts it doesn’t get in my way. I can just focus on my farm. Or I can just focus on mining. Or I can just focus on trying to romance half the village. But when I have played games like Rune Factory the story just kept getting in the way. I really didn’t care about saving some dragon (rune factory 4 or 5 I think). I just wanted to tend to my crops. I just wanted my bigger field. I just wanted my improved farming tools.

Now, reading the previews it seems to be more an ARPG with a life sim bolted on. That may well be something I will be interested in further down the line but not what I was hoping for when the game was announced.

Plus, you know, S-E and PC ports and about £10-£15 more expensive than I would like is kind of pushing me away as well.

But it seems like it's actually a good game, you don't see many... rail shooter GaaS that's for sure. No stamina system involved, right?

Doesn't seem to be, no, at least nothing like that has been introduced by chapter 3 yet.
And ye, it being a shooter makes the game feel quite different than other gachas

I'll certainly play both AC Valhalla and that Fenyx game when Ubi comes back to Steam. Thought at a discount of course.
Can't really think of any other Ubi games that have come out that I would want. Maybe Ghost Recon Breakpoint? I genuinely enjoyed Wildlands as a checklist type of game, and though I know that Breakpoint wasn't exactly well received, I think they patched it quite a bit. So I would be interested in trying it out.

  1. Tom Henderson's reporting of Overdose was correct, with this being the footage that was supposedly shown to him. The footage is just as he says; Margaret Qualley walking around in a blue dress in a horror filled environment. EDIT: Something to point out is the player in the left-bottom corner of the screen, holding a device that looks like a phone. This was also in Henderson's report, and is most likely active footage taken by this player.
  2. Even more interesting is the fact that the guy filming this is not only showing off his face tons of times, he's also literally fucking half-naked.
  3. Some mysterious text on the top-left saying "CAMERA PLAYER 1" (pic doesnt show it, but later in the footage it becomes clear). However, what's more interesting is the fact that this game doesn't look all that good, once again hinting at Henderson's report of it looking like it was being played at a mobile device.
  4. The mobile device part is more so supported by the red dots that appear on screen, hinting at a touch screen.
  5. At the end of the footage, which supposedly shows Margaret being captured (and also our filming protagonist in even more half-naked glory), it cuts to a "GAMEOVER" screen...
  6. ...Only for the "GAMEOVER" screen to remove the "GAME", and instead put "DOSE" at the end, resulting in the title "OVERDOSE" - confirming the Henderson report, as well as the icon leak

First impressions from the footage is that it doesn't look all that great. I'm not sure what the footage is; if it's active gameplay due to the touchscreen, or if it's just cinematics based on the whole "sense" of the footage. However, as Henderson says, this will most likely be the Xbox Cloud title that Hideo was developing - due to it being most likely played on a mobile device, as well as, well, it not looking that intriguing.

He is just trying to breathe, thats all.

This does line up though with Kojima saying he is trying to cross games and movies in some new form, so some sort of Quantic Dream style game with a Kojima twist.

I completed Death Stranding yesterday and I think Margaret Qualley performance was the weakest of all main characters and it doesn't help that
Lockne
was very cringy, especially with her weird face touching. It looks like in Overdose she might be the main protagonist which somewhat kills my excitement.

I remember Jeff Gerstmann streaming this years ago and being so gutted there was no modern hardware port.

OG Elevator Action was 1000% my jam back in the early-'80s arcade days.

I have finished Soul Hackers 2, I enjoyed the game and my next glut of Atlus games will be in december.
That said I think I'm finally in the mood to replay yakuza 0, kiwami and kiwami 2 to then jump into 3-6 (maybe, I keep changing my mind)

Makes me feel a little better about selling my PS5 and skipping the game for a non-determinate time.

Diversity and inclusion is so important, especially in big name games.

And anyway, it’s not like Europe is a gazillion miles away from Asia and Africa. There were no doubt Africans and Asians in Europe during the medieval times.

Even stranger when a combatant you fight, shown in the pre-release material has clearly darker skin.
Can't have non-white people, unless they are enemies.

Yeah I think this was the final straw for me. I was holding on for its release but now I’ll get it when it’s dirt cheap on PC
