I actually started playing Cyber Sleuth on PS4 but ended up dropping it after a while, the game didn't grab me. I don't know the first thing about Digimon but it seemed like a nice jrpg to play while waiting for P5 and it was on sale so I decided to check it out. I should give it another shot.

If you’re not fighting, you’re walking. You’re walking a lot. There are vast ten-minute stretches of nothing throughout Devil’s Hunt, as if the game needed a thick layer of padding. There’s no platforming or puzzle-solving here either. You just walk from point A to point B, sometimes hitting an interact button to traverse up or down. Every now and again, you’ll stand on a specific spot and look for a location to teleport to. These segments are blatant redundancy, trying to run out the clock wherever they can. It took me about 7 hours to finish Devil’s Hunt. At least 2 of those hours consisted of walking aimlessly. Thankfully, while these sections pop up frequently in the first half of the game, they disappear by chapter 7.

Visually the game ranges from some fantastic character models and environments to some really terrible character models and bad textures littered throughout. The good character models are mostly from the main cast like Desmond, Lucifer, and Agares. Side characters look noticeably worse and can really take from the scene. The use of Unreal Engine 4 provides some high quality visuals at times when the pre-baked assets and textures are used, and the lighting can be well done with some nice contrasting colors. The Hell levels have the most unique visuals with some gory imagery, while the Earth levels and office areas look like a UE4 demonstration video. The textures and particle effects of the assets the devs created themselves can look extremely pixelated and low resolution even with everything on full graphical settings and at 1440p.

Devil's Hunt's weighty combat and at times beautiful visuals are plagued with inconsistency, and lack the level of polish of the titles it borrows from. The result is an unfulfilling teen drama whose flashes of brilliance aren't near enough to justify it's $35 price tag.
A 4 ~ 5 game I guess, dunno what I was expecting to be honest, but I guess I can now wait for a sale on this one

They are not putting a regular cheap SSD in there. Playstation 5 has a sweeping change across the whole spectrumjustto enhance the performance of the SSD, while keeping costs low.

What they are going to do with PS5(and according to reports, Xbox Scarlet) is going to completely blow the PC SSDs away. And due to the nature of the system, such advances aren't going to be seen in the PC for another 5-10 years. You'll see what's possible in a system that's dedicated for one purpose. In the case of PS5 its gaming. Someone was saying that PCs are now going to hold back consoles.
Every single PS5 thread I swear.

Yeah, Sony can somehow revolutionize the industry, invent completely new technology, something requiring billions in R&D, but are then gracious enough to sell it for less than you'd get for 5-year -old laptop.
As I was saying, any semblance of logic and reason PC Gaming is Dead.

Why yes, Sony and Microsoft are just coming up with cutting edge data storage tech that makes the current, still expensive, tech obsolete and said groundbreaking tech will also be super cheap, not passing that cost to the consumer.

That makes perfect, logical sense. The PS5 will be eons ahead of current high end PCs and will still cost 400 USD.

Expected to find an Era thread, but ehhhhhh, slighty disappointed.
Here from that place.
Talked about it yesterday with a friend. I think its growing with next console generation. As a pc player you have to invest to keep up performancewise - not only a graphic card, but also a new Motherboard and maybe a SSD (no loading tims on ps5).
Sony really did their marketing right.

Depends. Have you bought this yet? Just released. No? Too few games then, please try harder.

Thank you for reminding me. Bought it.

Maaaan the control scheme is weird... although I did manage to pull off a nollie kickflip to some shitty-looking grind (probably a feeble grind). I tried to kickflip out to manual but the game didn't register (what's more likely is that I probably used the wrong stick).
I do hope the control scheme is not going to limit the kind of tricks you'll be able to do...

Overall I'd say it has potential but it's super janky (as expected from an Early Access game). I have two complaints that I think they should have fixed before releasing the beta.
1) the ragdoll physics are awful and bailing isn't "fun" nor make you cringe in any way... all that flopping around and knees bending backwards remind me of The Bouncer on the PS2... or Porrasturvat.
2) the lighting is particularly ugly and it looks like they're not using indirect lighting; everything looks kinda drab. I hope they'll be able to improve the look of the game as much as Supraland did (also a UE4 game whose lighting initially looked incredibly dull).
