I have a couple of days off work.

I want to play a few games, but since I'm struggling to complete long games, and I kind of want to play different genres, can anyone please recommend me a couple of short games in the following categories:

-a "Zelda-like" adventure game;
-a recent point & click adventure game;
-a hidden object game with an actual plot (ideally a mystery/noir/horror game).

thanks :)

Oceanhorn for your Zelda fix, maybe? It was recommended by someone here some months ago and seems pretty good.

Ittle Dew
Frog Detective
Look up that Detective bundle on Fanatical

I second the Ittle Dew recommendation.
I have 2 hours playtime on the first one and completed it, so it's certainly short, and it's fun too.
Can encourage replay to try and
Sequence break and beat the game as fast as possible

Just finished the thing. Those last 5-6 hours were incredible.
I was almost expecting that this would be Uchi's best game since 999 due to it being a fresh start again and i was not left disappointed.
It almost feels a bit like a spiritual successor to 999 because of that even.

By that i mean that the game again has a more local, personal story instead ot the apocalyptic nonsense of VLR/ZTD, as well as the fact that the game again takes only one concept and focuses on that one, (i.e. Morphogenetic field / Psyncing) instead of throwing tons of things into the hotpot like VLR/ZTD did (Aliens, Time Travel, Mindhacking etc.)

That said, i think the humor will be a bit divisive.
I really enjoyed it most of the time, but occasionally it went a bit to far into the absurdist direction for a game that was still serious at its core. Mostly i mean everything that involved
shootouts and porno mags.

Can you answer my question now? :blobeyes:

A short Hike was a recent nice quick cheap game. Explore a mountain collecting a few bits and bobs.

More people should too. :cat-heart-blob:

Funny you both mentioned Ittle Dew, because even before asking for recommendations here on Meta, I installed the game to give it a go. :giggle:
I'll be playing it for sure.

And Tizoc, Frog Detective is indeed very enjoyable, but I already played the game. ;)
What is the Fanatical Detective bundle you refer to?

Thanks for all your recommendations, Line, MJunioR, Knurek, Tizoc, Durante, Joe Spangle. :highfiveblob:

What was your total reading time? And how would you compare it with 999 in terms of length?

Ascheroth I just saw that you finished WoFF.
Now please join this little chorus of ours that's trying to chant a second game into existence.
A second game would be awesome.
The only problem I have with the game is the 30fps lock, the actual game was all around fantastic.
And the story opened up a ton of potential follow-up material towards the end.

One thing I don't quite like about the new steam update, I can no longer just see the games that are on Mac, that used to be my default library, just the Mac games. Now it's all clumped in together. I can't even make a dynamic collection to keep track. I have to go to every individual game and see if I can play it.

so i just realized that my Rage 2 doesnt have the deluxe edition items even though thats the version i have and steam says is installed. I open the store in game and says to upgrade to deluxe edition.

how do i get this to recognize my deluxe?

With the new steam library, does custom art need to be using a specific file format? all the games I've tried just show blank rectangles.
They're in 900hx600w dimension so im a little confused
