Well, that yesterday the PS5 event was... Quite something. I couldn't have ever imagined that Sony will mess up with messaging so bad. As I've said before this event, I was intended to accept that my info was wrong, shut down my channel, and never talk about it again if Bloodborne won't be there. But after this whole mess, I feel like I can't leave without a trace anymore, so I'm going to talk about Bloodborne for the last time and face the consequences.
I'm saying it right away, I'm not intending to give you false hope regarding this stuff. I agree that it'll be better if everyone will consider this rumor as incorrect and won't expect to see Bloodborne PC port soon. I just want to try clear things up about what exactly I've heard about it before leaving this topic for good. People will blame me in making "clickbait YouTube comments" again, but I hope that at least this time major gaming outlets won't take this comment and run with it as some big story. I'll say it again, TAKE EVERYTHING BELOW WITH A HUGE GRAIN OF SALT, I CAN'T CONFIRM THIS INFO AND IT MIGHT END UP BEING FALSE.
First of all, I admit that I've made a mistake and mixed up the info that I've got about Bloodborne. I was saying it right from the start, it was not a single person who told me about BB PC port, but 3 different sources, which are, from my knowledge, are not connected with each other. They were saying different details about the whole thing but were agreeing on one thing - that the BB PC port is real and will be released eventually. I got this info with a promise that I'll keep their identities anonymous so they won't get into trouble, but this is what each of them told me:
1. Bloodborne PS5 launch title and somewhat related to backward compatibility + BB PC port
2. Bloodborne PS5 remaster + Demon's Souls remake at the end of June event + BB PC port (with some NDA stuff shown)
3. Demon's Souls remake is full PS5 exclusive at launch with the possibility of a PC port later + BB PC port
+ 2 other people came after I published this video and confirmed the BB PC port info independently.
As you can see, only one person was giving me some sort of timeframe of when it'll all could be officially revealed. So I've made an assumption that looked logical for me back then, that PS5 launch and remaster stuff is the same thing, and remaster and PC port will be officially revealed this year. The problem is, #1 never said anything to me about remaster stuff, and now #2 has claimed to me that BB remaster is a separate thing, that it's not related to the PS5 launch version, and the remaster with PC port will launch later. I know that sounds weird, but after recent Sony stunts, I won't be surprised that they are actually going to do this.
The bad news is, it means the remaster probably won't be revealed before the PS5 launch, so no announcement this year, and no PC port soon. The last update that I was given today about the state of PC port is that they were doing a bigger wave of tests in August that was supposed to be final, but with a higher range of playtesters they found new unexpected critical bugs. And Sony didn't want to repeat the same mistake as they did with the HZD PC port, so they insisted on continuing to actively test it to make sure everything is good. Again, this is all only about PC port stuff, I have no idea what's going on with PS5 remaster, considering if it's real after all. In any case, looks like stuff was delayed again thanks to messed up HZD PC port, which was mostly outsourced as well and only overseen by the Guerilla at first.
As for Demon's Souls Remake, I've always said that it's going to be a full PS5 exclusive, at least for now. It's not a secret that Sony is always considering now PC ports for their first-party games, they even officially confirmed it in their recent corporate report. Today Jim Rayn said once again at the end of his interview that "Sony has also expressed increasing interest in porting games to the PC" -
https://www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/2020/09/16/ps5-retail-units/ Moreover, I've been told that from now on, most of their first-party titles are built with the PC version in mind in case Sony will decide to port them. It's easier to have PC port ready right from the start of development instead of trying to port an old game that was built only for specific hardware like HZD was. And after that whole mess with the DeS Remake PC announcement and Sony backtracking about it, I believe that the PC port will definitely come out later, probably in 1 year after the PS5 launch.
To conclude this whole wall of text, I'll repeat again that you shouldn't take my words as something granted. I wrote this final comment because I admit that I've made a mistake and mixed up the info that I've got. And to be honest, if I knew Bloodborne backward compatibility and Bloodborne remaster/port is not the same thing, I wouldn't have made this video back in June. I understand how long it's been since everyone, including myself, started to tease it for the first time and how frustrating it is to wait for an official reveal that keeps not happening. I won't deny that maybe it was not just about dates, but this whole rumor was fake, so despite some parts of it being correct, I insist that you don't get your hopes high about BB PC port.
So please, don't ask me about any updates anymore, because I've promised that I won't spread any rumors about this topic again, and I'll keep my word. I know that it probably won't stop some people from giving me shit for reporting about those rumors, but I can only blame myself for this and it's too late to backtrack. I can say you one thing, I highly doubt I'll ever make videos about speculations around unannounced games again, even if the BB PC port will be confirmed someday, so please don't subscribe to my channel if you are here for more rumors. I never intended to "troll" anyone for views, I haven't monetized this video and never will, so yeah, I'm going back to deal with my personal issues and will disappear again for good.
