I'm hoping for some TGS surprises. No specific expectations but there’s actually not many (if any) games I’m looking forward to so I want to see some new stuff.

Also hoping for P5R pre-orders to begin.

Going back to the AO rating for Assassin’s Creed, I can't wait to watch the console makers crumple under their principles and do mental gymnastics they otherwise wouldn't consider once there’s money to be made.

Gratuitous violence causing an AO rating? Ban this filth! Won't somebody think of the children?

Porn causing an AO rating? Ban this filth! We care about the children!

Gambling causing an AO rating? Ban thi-- oh, we can make money from this? Well, I guess it’s not so bad if kids get addicted to gambling because shareholder value has increased. And it’s rated AO - kids shouldn't be playing it anyway!

they don't need to do mental gymnastics, they just need ubisoft to add a little bit more violence/gore and they'll spin it as allowing the game for pushing the boundaries or some bullshit

I suspect this is what they might do to slip gambling under the radar.

Still, the console makers will be complete hypocrites over this.

Well, Xbox store now has ability to display AO rating at least. :p

Humble Games

(1) (Do you feel the increase in Japan users?)

Our sales on Steam have increased by about 20% year-over-year for Japan. However, the number of titles released in Japan is also increasing, so there are various reasons for this. If there's one thing that's for sure, it's that Humble Games has continued to support Japan gamers through localization.
Probably the most noteworthy tidbit.

I can believe something was lost in the transition from joyful anarchy to controlled corporate fun. But I'm not sure I would put the loss of interaction between players and bass boosted hip hop as a loss*.
But sure, he has my sword.

* I mean, ffs, in my first use of xboxlive on 360 I was greeted by a concentration camp joke in the first 5 minutes.

Largely agree, but would also add killing off community servers. Edit: Though I suppose he could mean that by his statement, "keeping players from interacting"

Playing games like Unreal Tournament or Team Fortress 2 on the same community servers, where you could start to know regulars, chat about things outside of just the game, and get better against each other. There really is little like it these days. Toxicity was always there, and in some ways worse, like slurs and the like, but now toxicity has definitely been given a focal point like the sun through a magnifying glass with the presence of ranked modes and SBMM.

My Ducky One 2 is pretty much busted. Certain keys don't work anymore (no it is clean FYI). Tried everything and now I am gaming on some BT portable for phones/tablets keyboard.

What should I get? I don't care if it is TKL or 100%, the one I had was 100%..I just need that tactile goodness.

Never been much for multiplayer, but there was something special with say multiplayer FPS games where you could just join a server and play a few matches even as a player that didn't play often or really "knew" the game.

If you install a multiplayer game now as a new player you are immediately greeted with a "Welcome to Season 49: The hunt for gold binoculars" or something. You play a few matches, maybe rank a bit, then leave it alone.
If you get the urge to go back a few months later, you are greeted with "Welcome to Season 76: Time to kidnap God" and all your progress has been deleted and the entire UI has changed.

I might be exaggerating a bit, but this is how it feels...

Shame to hear about your Ducky board.

Keychron is pretty good for wireless keyboards and the offer a line of more expensive boards too with "Q", which you can use as-is but they are built with customisability in mind, so you can pretty much replace everything from switches, to the plate, to the stabilisers, and so forth. Also a lot of different modifications that can be easily (or at least more easily) performed.

Ducky itself isn't bad, and their new Ducky One 3 boards are also hot-swappable so you can even try out different tactile switches, like Holy Pandas (original or the ones from Glorious), Boba U4T, Magic Girl Switches (never tried these myself, but they are supposed to be great) , and many other switches.

I don't really need wireless. I just happen to have some BT thing I can use so I can still use my PC.

Yeah, I also +1 Keychron keyboards, they have a pretty good spread of prices and options. A good portion of their keyboards can be wireless or wired. They also seemingly run a lot of deals off and on both on their site and on Amazon.

I live in Taiwan so..if anything amazon its either shipped ot my mother in the states and I pick it up whenever I visit (which has not been since COVID started) or I look at Japan but the price isn't worth it. They do have a TW site here...I can't really read Chinese though >.>

Also I was using red switch, would brown be a better choice? I like feedback.

Also yeah I can't navigate the local site here ffff its not setup the same as the one in the states.

I finished IMMORTALITY during the weekend, and by finished I mean I got to the credits there are still more clips to unlock, it took me around 8 hours and it was an incredible experience. Anything else that I say may enter into spoilers territory so all I can say is play it if you enjoyed Sam Barlow's previous games.

Baka~~
The lightpaper is full of metaverse and NFT nonsense. It's also not even decentralized, because all the nodes on that chain seem to only be big corporations.
I don't get it. These idiots are all just trying to reimplement the fucking Steam Marketplace, except somehow a million times more complex and expensive for no reason at all.

It sounds like Valve/Komodo

Are going all out, with a steam Deck give a way.

More than 20 game demo.

They will also have Steam Pal merch.

They will also have game creators/YouTubers (vtubers????)

And more and it sounds like it a big g booth

Do we know how long the exclusivity was for Stranger of Paradise? Any chance it could show up on Steam in the next couple weeks or is it still another 6 months off?

It's not know, but looking at how Nioh went I expect the Steam release to coincide with a Complete Edition release, and there is still one unannounced DLC coming up. I wouldn't expect SoP on Steam until at least March 2023

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!! YA BABY!

Christtttttttt am I happy this is finally a thing holy shit I've been wanting a snow plow sim for eons EONS I tell you!

Now please give me a street cleaning sim and garbage truck sim and I can die happy

Street Cleaning Simulator is very real, and for the time it was released, very good.

Never showed up on Steam but I remember getting a digital copy from simMarket.

It shows its age at this point, but I remember the gameplay loop being super relaxing (obviously). With just enough nuts & bolts vehicle operations to keep it from being completely brain-dead.

I think GameSpot famously gave it at 1.5 out of 10, but I remember getting a solid couple-dozen hours of enjoyment out of it myself back in the day.
