Im not sure exactly what happened, but Steam reached a bit over 29m ccu today, which is what it had before the ukraine-russia war happened, when that happened, Steam sorta lost 2 million ccu. The war is still not over and the different restrictions in Russia is still there, so the extra 2 million growth must have come from somewhere.

Watch this one carefully because it is one that won't happen again in a long time, all main big Playstation games have been featured in this week's top 10, HOLY SMOKES!!!!

Spider-Man holds at top 10 for 9th consecutive weeks.

Last week (in which MS & Playstation shared top 10 hehe):

It typically declines in the summer and climbs back up in the fall and winter. Assuming no externalities (i.e. China ban, Russia ban), it could hit 30m CCU by the end of the year.

Looking at that top 10 (and also Steam review counts for all the Sony games) I want to note that Spiderman (while obviously doing well and making them tons of profit) is not really exploding in popularity beyond everything else that Sony offer.

I've previously argued that Bloodborne would, in fact, outsell anything Sony could put on Steam -- and part of the counter-argument was that Spiderman is an infinitely larger blockbuster franchise. I'm sure that is the case, but that clearly doesn't mean that a (late) PC release of an associated game on Steam would outsell a (even later release of a) critically acclaimed Fromsoft title.

Deck already sold 2M in japan! :shlooter:
Where does that come from? I'm asking because those numbers seem really out of track for what we saw here in the west so, if it's not a joke, could you share the source? Even if that's Japanese ^^

At this moment I think Bloodborne would outsell everything and become the second biggest From Software release of the platform in terms of CCU and sold copies (would it outsell Elden Ring? I have my doubts) so yeah, that one should be an interesting one.

However, the one that I think will exceed expectations is Ghost of Tsushima as the Assassins Creed formula sells extremely well and Japan setting is extremely popular.

It is the price issue for Spider-Man. If they went with 50 euros for Spider-Man and Miles Morales like they did for Uncharted it would sold way better. Uncharted Collection will have other issue and that issue is number 4 in the title. Gears had same issue when it arrived on Steam with 5th installment (together with crazy price in Europe).

And bit off topic i really like tinkering with this 3D printing tech :D

HEY PEOPLE!!! GET IN THERE!!!

Let's enjoy some metal this fine Sunday!

We made it roughly half way through Metal: Hellsinger on Friday and there's a good chance we might finish it off today so I understand if folks don't want the later stages or ending spoiled but if you're in the mood for some rhythm based metal action then feel free to stop by! :cat-heart-blob:

Also, a quick heads up that I'll be promoting next Sunday's stream off and on so I do apologize if it becomes too annoying. For those that might not have seen it mentioned the first time, I'm going to be doing a charity stream on the 25th to help raise money for The Trevor Project. Being a tiny channel I know I'm not going to raise a ton of money but any amount helps and it's going to a great cause. :cuteblob:

Elden ring's massive success on Steam (even though it was not a good PC port) pretty much confirmed this IMO. Don't get me wrong, The Last of us part 1, miles morales, returnal, and ghost of tsushima are games that will be successful on steam without a doubt. But demon's souls and especially Bloodborne? They're going to blow any other Sony pc port out of the water, and I'd argue they'll do even better than GOW Ragnarok once it comes to steam.

More Steam Deck information

Here is the "end of it"

Also this the break room that Lawrence talked about

It seems that the Gundam Skin Panel was cancelled because of lack of travel visa approval on time.

More stuff: if you went to the Steam Deck booth right away when door opened then the wait time was only like 30 minutes but if you went later on the wait time actually did explode to 2 hours wait time.

It seems that the both as as big as that of SE, Konami, and SEGA

Dang Dorrito Pope forget about the Steam Deck Booth (I'm guessing he didn't make the connection with Komodo)

More importantly 29 million Steam Users sure Is a lot of people.
-------

The next exciting thing that I would be waiting for would be the official launch of the device.

I doesn't have to be like this, but I mean given TGS, who knows what can happen next

------

Wow it's a good thing that there were restrictions.

Oh the disaster those kids would do?

My wild guess is that prior to TGS, there may have been at least 10k units that got pre-sold in Japan.

I can't remember what the number looked like for the western launch. But within less than a week Komodo had "order numbers" of 40k. But that is likely shared with those regions in Asia that they are providing for.
this was helpful :)

Good price for the collection. The ROMS can be extracted as well.

I didn't even know isopropyl alcohol can destroy old plastic. I used it on a gameboy color lens and it just cracked. :(

Guess I need to order a few aftermarket replacements from ebay.
I'll have to give Edgerunners a watch soon, but I'm still waiting patiently for that 60% off discount for CP2077. :flare_mogu:
Me too, but I am waiting for the DLC before jumping in.;)

In case you all missed:

After the latest update, Steam app will let you remote download any game from your library on any connected device you are linked to. This comes in handy if your computer, Deck or server is running, to be honest, I think I will use this more than once.

I just learnt that Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure has built-in CRT filter and it actually looks good.

To the people who bought La Pucelle: Ragnarok, could you check if there's a filter in this game, too?

Before the beta of the app, you could already do that =p

None. But this game doesn't have many options to begin with. At least they have the decency to leave the character sprites unfiltered.

Thanks for checking! A bit disappointing that they didn't make one for La Pucelle. Filter on character sprites gets a huge no from me. I will wait for someone to make a mod for Tactics Ogre to restore the sprites.

Can you pick which drive a game goes on? On my PC I will definitely want to pick what drive it goes on without having to move it myself (which kind of defeats the point as I will then need to navigate away from Playnite to the desktop Steam UI with kb/m to move it).

On my Deck it’s be handy to let me pick between SSD or SD too, but not a big deal as I can move it in the Deck UI.
