I wish Valve made it easier to buy Steam gift cards. I got given an Amazon gift card because that's usually considered the catch-all for these sorts of things, and there's literally nothing I want to get with it that also wouldn't require me to spend more money on Amazon. So I basically have money doing nothing.

I've been looking for a way to convert the gift card into a gift card for another store that I can then convert into a Steam gift card, but I'm drawing a complete blank. No one seems to sell Steam gift cards in the UK anymore - even the list of retailers on Steam itself is out of date because none of them seem to stock any.
Humble seems to accept Amazon Pay as a payment method. That's one way to use this gift card to get Steam games!

We’ll see if I can use my Amazon balance to make the purchase. I suspect it only works with cards on my Amazon account.

But worth a shot!

Update: Looks like Humble doesn’t take Amazon Pay in the UK.

Interesting -- when I'm at the supermarket here in Austria I'm frequently surprised when I see Steam gift cards available for sale (right next to Amazon, PSN, Nintendo etc.). The reason I'm surprised is because I don't really think of Steam as something "mainstream" still, but the cards have been available here pretty broadly for years now.

They used to be available at Tesco, but in the last 18 months or so you can’t find them anywhere.

The only place I can get them from is GAME (stores only), but since Mike Ashley (the new-ish owner of the chain) is just incredibly smart at business, there actually isn’t a store in the capital city of Wales because he shut the dedicated store down, moved it to House of Fraser, then proceeded to close HoF down earlier this year.

Galaxy brain level stuff.

In a local store in Vienna I always noticed how those gift cards were nearly sold out during summer and winter sales. I imagine lots of kids who don't have a bank account yet would spend their allowance there. That and maybe people who might not be comfortable with giving their bank data to Steam, although that's more something I associate with older generations.

Epic business sense! :D Have you tried Morrisons? I know the large one in Sheffield used to sell them.

If still no luck, how much is the card for? And can it be used for Kindle purchases? If it's not too much, we could look into doing a 1-1 switch: I could buy you a UK Steam Gift Card and you could throw me the Amazon UK code? (Assumes you've not redeemed it yet. :p )

Not too long ago I was converting MS rewards to Steam by using the points to redeem a Currys voucher and then ordering a Steam card from them but I haven't seen them in stock there for months either.

So it's not just a US thing I see. Steam cards were never available on amazon officially from what I can tell only 3rd party vendors that charge more than what the card is worth. I used to cash out MS rewards for some retailers like wal mart to get steam cards with it but every retailer I check lately has stopped selling steam cards online. Some still have them in store only but that doesn't help me with digital gift cards....

That's unusual. I know that in the US it's very easy to get a physical Steam gift card in places like GameStop, Best Buy and I think also at Walmart as well.

Yeah they're pretty easy to find in the US in retail locations. Those stores have them, Target usually has them as well. I was actually at Walgreens, which is a large pharmacy chain, yesterday to get the new flu and covid shots and saw some Steam gift cards there on their gift card display. It is weirdly hard to find them online though in my experience.

So the decided, okay let's call it Moss Panda because it's a Panda covered in Moss. Okay now let's take some inspiration from Totoro and also from Slaking. Nice.

I do look forward to the game, it looks fun and I like the whacky idea behind it, but I also wish it was just a bit more polished. I feel like when you fight them that it more or less will feel the same, which is a shame and that they will be bullet sponges.

I poop you not, I have been listening to that song a lot in the past two weeks thinking that it's such an amazing song. The algorithm knows my brothers, it knows what songs to feeds us.

The only other song that I find not talked much about that I have been listening to a lot is this song as well.

I live in a rural town in America and Steam cards are easy to come by. They even carry them at drug stores like CVS and Walgreens.

Oh man, that was hilarious. Major kudos to whoever came up with that one.
I finished it. Took me about ~4 hours and was well worth the $10. It was more RE4 and I'm happy with that.

If I'm using a Gsync monitor, is there a particular importance to the connectivity I use ?
To be clear, can I swap the Display Port for an Hdmi ?

Totally not asking that because the fucking Steam Deck dock firmware is bugged with hdmi and support has been remarkably bad. I could use DP with the Dock and Hdmi with the GPU, if and only if that changes nothing for my PC.

It's going to be launching in early access in January. so there will be plenty of time for polishing and community feedback.

If you have Gsync you should go with Display port.

Only HDMI 2.1 makes use of VRR from what I remember (which would include Gsync stuff) . If you have a newer monitor released in the last year or two and it supports HDMi 2.1 then I don't think there should be much difference (Display port is still the way to go for it at least since this would leave HDMi slot available to your monitor in case you ever need to hook something else up to it like a console.

Finished Nier Automata Route A. Overall i liked game and i would rate it around 7.5/10 after finishing Route A. I will take a break before i go and play it again for Route B. i am not fan of this gameplay concept of finishing game multiple times to see true ending or whatever. i didn't like it in Hades either.

You haven't finished the game and you don't replay the game.
It's crazy how this misconception still exists so many years after release.

Changing 20% of the second playthrough is not enough to claim that it is not replay. in my opinion.

thing is it's not just 20% of the playthrough, it opens new ways both in-game and in terms of narrative lol in fact, all what changes will be seeing in route C

Now that Diablo 4 is coming to game pass I sold my copy of it for 30€ and bought expansion pack for cyberpunk! Hyped!

but how the fuck am I supposed to juggle bg3, star field and a replay of cyberpunk?!
Don't juggle between them? Do as I, focus one one game at the time. Does it work? Of course, Im super active in the finished/retired game thread here.

The point is, that you haven't seen the actual ending. Route B does go over the plot of A again (albeit a bit faster) from a new perspective, and only after that, are you allowed to play the actual ending of the game. Route A is by design incomplete. If I stop playing an RPG 10 hours before the actual ending, would you consider that a playthrough? I doubt it.

All this leads to the question of why Nier Automata is structured like this, and it boils down to Yoko Taro being really weird and okay with having bits in his games that are super excruciating to play.

Nier Automata, a game Im sure I will love and know I must play it, started it TWICE, but never seem to actually play it.XD
It's a game you can only play for the story and even then you have to tolerate the anime bullshit and tropes of the first 20h before it says anything worth paying attention to.
If you're trying to play for the gameplay you'll be severely disappointed.

Typical I upgrade my PC every 4 years. I first got my PC in 2014, I upgraded it for the first time in 2018 and I had plans to upgrade it by 2022 again. That didn't pan out. I still have a GTX 1070ti with an AMD Ryzen 2600 with 16GB of RAM (I can't even remember the speeds) a lot of storage (a mix of a 2TB Intel 660p drive, which cost me $220 back in 2019, and other drives) all on an ASRock X470 Taichi motherboard, and a 500W Corsair PCIU. Because of cost and things I mainly plan to upgrade everything minus the graphics cards, just to save on cost. Typical I would have gone for something more mid range but I think when upgrading this time that I will be spending a lot more money on this upgrade. I may even try to get a RTX 4090 founder edition. One of the issues will be size of course since I don't want a full tower (I currently still have my NZXT Phantom ATX Full Tower) and I want something that is as small as it can be. Hopefully it goes well and hopefully by then, there will also be better OLED computer monitors as well.

Just got my Wooting in

And now, as a bit of post-nut clarity, I wonder how much it "really" matters. The review that made me decide to buy this did mention that pretty much every "Pro-Level" Counter-Strike player is playing on shitty D-Tier technically mechanical keyboards during tournaments out of Contractual Obligation since Logitech and Razer are (were?) the Big-Ticket-Spenders on eSports sponsorships; So realistically how much of a difference will this even make for me going into CS2?

Besides that though I sorta had to replace my Glorious because it has some really annoying Grounding issues that I was starting to get paranoid about.

You see Mivey ! A numpad !
That's a real keyboard. You can do your budget on it.
I tried a 60% once and I can't ever again.

I play MilSims, and NumPad is always traditionally Radio Channels. Where the hell do I put my Radio Channel controls without a numpad.

Squad 6.0 on Wednesday everyone.

Though number-entry when doing my normal SQL Admin work is also important too.

Oh man, being able to analog-move in Starfield instead of the shitty digital-mode movement is NICE.

Still though, whoever is responsible for the "Slower walk than NPCs, Faster jog than NPCs" vanilla movement in these games should be punished by the gods to have to endure such movement in real life.

I have nothing against numpads, I own several. Just don't need them as a fixed part of my board, as that's a waste of space. 75% keyboards are where it's at.
And I’m truly envious. Those are things of beauty and I even read a piece that said hand placement was more natural on smöl keyboards. But I know the second I do my daily budget I will renounce God and start hunting preys under the moonlight.

Finished NG++ in Armored Core 6. I think I have now armored as many cores as I am going to. The only achievements left involve either grinding for S ranks or money and I'm good on that.

Great game. Shame so many people didn't give it the chance it deserves. The story is WAY more straightforward than every souls game I've ever played and they actually make good use of the need to replay the game to get all the endings. Unlike all the souls games I've played the replays actually evolve the story and progress the characters as the game goes on. Hopefully if FROM takes anything from this game, its that concept into a new Souls game. That and like... maybe tell some stories that aren't just completely obtuse.

It’s fine in starfield
Yeah 30fps is fine for Starfield. My bigger issue is when the game momentarily freezes are the audio is out of sync for a few seconds when ever I talk to an NPC. When it zooms in to the NPC face is when it is out of sync but after that it becomes normal for the remainder of when I'm in the dialogue tree with the NPC.
