Ugghhh I can't wait, it's probably the game I'm most hyped for and the next one where I may just take time off for it. Ya'll can have your cowboy foraging simulators and your Doot Calls, I'll be making the world peaceful whether it wants to be or not :cat-heart-blob:

I have a month of Premier (hopefully EA adds the extra free month asap) with some games I wanna finish and PC game pass with some game I wanna finish asap.

Yet I can't stop playing Disco Elysium. It's so damn good. Never played a game like that as far as Im concerned.

So I have full focus on Disco Elysium forward.

I wonder if Im able to finish DE before Fallen Order is out.

yup. as much as i loved the game all the riddler stuff was way too much. i would do them if i pas them and could figure it out quick enough otherwise id pass and keep on flying
There was also an AR challenge that was the bane(hah) of my existence. You had to swoop down and gain momentum to travel through a long tunnel without touching the ground. The timing was super finicky and I am really surprised that I actually went to the trouble of completing the challenge.

why'd I have to make a twitter poll for which version of AI to buy, just for PC to start winning right when the Switch LE went on sale for $60?!

The criteria for Polygon's list makes no sense to me because it seems to vacillate between personal love for a game, and "cultural importance." If you're going by cultural importance, sure Flappybird and Kim K's game were a huge phenomenon that could deserve inclusion on a list of games from the decade.

Nah, the list is really dumb because of these two blurbs:

Excuse me, what the flying shit?
Its silly to say that this invalidates the entire list. Far more hits than misses and I'm super duper on board with the list taking a wide angle view of gaming over the past 10 years and not just laser focusing on AAA hard core games like a lot of "BEST OF" lists do.

I mean the switch is $300, all of the games are $60 and the controllers are $75. Believe me, there are people who easily have sunk $1000 plus into the switch.

PC AAA gaming requires expensive and require multi-gen hardware upgrades. Basic PC gaming (which is a lot of pc gaming) is a lot more accessible and PC games are cheaper than ever! Almost any rig can run Hollow Knight, Return of the Obra Din, Minit ect.
The only reason I don't still use my 2500k bought in 2011 (I think) is because my motherboard failed and sellers wanted more money for the replacement identical 2nd hand motherboard than when I bought it new. Popularity of the old tech heh.

don't give me hope :crying-face:
it's just the store page, sorry :(

although they DID add the DRM info and the "excluded from family sharing" info box just now ... so maybe they are preparing to put it back up for sale

Made a review on Blair Witch

Wanted to make it in time for Halloween sale, but last was pretty busy for me, so here we are. Also, the serious question now - does anyone know the easy way to create subtitles for the video? Because I've tried to find more about it, but all I saw is a suggestion to manually add all the timings, which is... Not what I want to do honestly, it's pain in the ass, especially for long videos I'm still working on. Maybe there's by chance someone who had experience with that topic?

Eh, probably the page got updated because the game was added to the Remote Play Together category. Same happened with TMNT last week and I doubt that either it or VT4 are coming back. Still, it gave me a bit of hope, even if just for a few minutes.

I spent an hour on that one last night! Just gave up. The gliding is way to finicky and you dont teleport back up when you fail you have to manually go back to the start.

Each time a bad pc port is being released, console gamers spam social media that this is the reason why console gaming is far superior to pc gaming. Hilarious. 😂
Somehow when the reverse happens, people are silent. Funny how that works.

So many people insecure about their platform. Its ok! Hell, a lot of console peeps spent more money on the Xbox X, PS4Pro, New Switch and 4k tv than most everyone ever spent on their "GAMING RIGS!!"

Also, currently playing "Universal Paperclips" for the 10th time in a minimized window while doing work stuff lol. Top 100 game of the gen lol.

First, full disclosure; the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has not been available for press to play ahead of time. With that in mind, this introductory part of our review concerns the game as it has existed until today – on consoles. However, with over 100 hours of in-game experience to date, and with the PC version changing very little of the creative fundamentals that underpin the game, it feels right to discuss why it’s such a monumental achievement.

The technical details – graphical, performance, all of that – will come as soon as possible, once I’ve had some time to play around with everything.

I'm all in favor of lists that have a wider examination of the last decade.

However:

A) The writing on that list fairly low-quality considering what I'd expect from a higher profile gaming outlet. Some of Simone and Colin's blurbs stick out like a thumb.

B) There's a number of cop-out entries that are groupings of games instead of singular games, which I really dislike

C) Quality of writing aside, the content of the blurbs on the list sometimes seems at odds with the title of "best games" when it seems to actually want to say more about "most important games" and "most popular" games. But even that is incoherent at times. Including, as an example, League because of its contribution to esports titles but not Dota is strange.

D) On a list of 100 games, there were literally only 3 entries I was unfamiliar with. Again, I do appreciate lists that have some wider examination of games. That's why I enjoy reading "weird" yearly lists like Tom Chick's or TIME's, because they include some games you might not see on a Top list otherwise. Granted, I'm not exactly a "casual gamer," so it might be hard to find games I haven't heard of, but 3/100 is pretty meh for me.
-I'll give you the writing on some wasn't great, no doubt. I didn't really read the blurbs on the games that were self explanatory.
  • The grouping was a cheap way to get more on the list.
  • As far as the omission of Dota, the only thing I can think of is that enough writers didn't look back on the game or enjoy it enough, as that seems to be some of the criteria. Weird omission.
-My count is 4 lol.

Concerning software? I don't know. From what I understand you usually to pay someone to do it.

Text to speech options really are not great. Especially if you are not a native English speaker.

I got Planet Zoo. Been playing for an hour or so. I like it so far but these games are where comfy couch PCing cant really compare to desk based. I have to turn the UI scale right up to be able to read the text (pleased it has a scale) but it makes all the option boxes massive and obscures a lot of the screen. Also i have a shitty wireless mouse and using it on the sofa isnt very precise so clicking icons etc it a bit frustrating.

I do love builder type games though and this one looks pretty good.

Regarding the hardware discussion, I had a Gtx 660 until three years into the current generation, then bought a 1050ti which I'll probably keep until at least a couple of years into the next generation¯\(ツ)/¯. I only care about 60 fps, not about resolutions and settings so I play everything at 900p-1080p on medium. :coffee-blob:

Yeah that's what I do now.:D I used to be that unless I could max out a game I wouldn't play it and wait till I could. It's such a freedom to not really care anymore and just enjoy games still.

I was that, until the 660ti hit a brick wall in 2017...... So PS4 it is.

I hear the performance numbers for RD2 on PC are pretty rough for things like the 1050ti and 1060, at least as far as trying to take advantage of PC level graphics. This isn't to say that people can't be happy turning down a few settings and settling for a lower resolution but I couldn't drop $200 and be statisfied with checking off nearly every setting.

Weirdly enough, I actually prefer locking a game to 30fps if I can't get 60fps. Which happens a lot. (I played DOOM 2016 on the lower settings at 1080p to get that 60FPS tho)

It's looking rough but I'm waiting on DF comparison for RDR 2. What are the pro and x console settings on PC?

But I guess it had to happen sometime. 1080ti is now getting closer to a 1080p/60fps card. :crying-face:

Not even the same type of game is it?

I thought the Dark Crystal game is an SRPG and this one looks like RPG or dungeon crawler, wandering around dungeons until you meet enemies etc.

It does look better but if I want an SRPG I'll go for something else (like Fell Seal or the coming Fae Tactics, maybe Dark Crystal if it proves itself later).
