Dunno. There's not too many. Some of the very earliest exclusives have gone/are going elsewhere, from Mage's Tale to Chronos.

Speaking of Mage's Tale I forgot inXile is meant to have received a 4.5 million budget from gumi inc. for another VR RPG before being bought by Microsoft!

Lolwtf. And yeah I don't like how they're "marketing" that BR thing, it doesn't inspire confidence, but who knows.

Some more Theta Legion stuff, first seen in that holiday showcase.

And a nice if small Karnage Chronicles update. Good little dungeon crawler this (not a rogue-lite like others)!
I also added the Down the Rabbit Hole and Low-Fi holiday showcase stuff in that recap post.

i was wondering - is there a complete(!) list of oculus exclusives somewhere?

google gives me nothing (i don't count that wikipedia page since it only lists a handful of those games)
Never found a complete list either, but there are (probably) only a handful really worth talking about. The interesting ones to me are:

Edge of Nowhere
Lone Echo
Arktika.1
Stormland
Asgard's Wrath
Robot Recall

Lone Echo is really good. Maybe the best VR game out there currently, at least the best I've played so far. I understand why people call this the first AAA VR game. Worth the 40€ entry price.

Robot Recall is well done, has fast and nice visuals. Gun mechanics are better than in Arizona Sunshine, but worse than in Raw Data imo. It's an arcade shooter, there is really not much depth here, but many VR shooter games have that problem. Still, a good training game to get used to VR 30€ are a bit much imo though. 15-20€ and I would recommend it.

I'm very interested in Asgard's Wrath and Edge of Nowhere, but I can't buy everything.

For me the biggest problem with Oculus isn't that they are developing, financing and distributing their own games. The problem is that my current game sales are going to lock down, at least influence my future hardware choices. There is no final PC hardware, VR headsets will evolve. What if Index 3 is going to be better and cheaper then Oculus Rift Quest S2? Revive seems to work, but already not perfectly so...?
Instead of happily spending money on their shop, I'm rather careful to not buy something that is also available on Steam.

If they'd open their shop to other Headset, I'd not have any kind of problems with them tbh.

If you care for Edge of Nowhere why not Chronos (Darksiders dev., they're both games that'd work out of VR kinda, third person before Touch was a thing)?

Unless you excluded it because recently it became known it's going to other stores (not known if it's only non-VR edition or also VR compatible there).

Wilson's Heart looks pretty good too. And of course we're gettng Lone Echo 2 next year.

Similar node teleportation to Arktika but a pure adventure game rather than a shooter with some pretty decent actors in the various character roles too.

Drop Dead is a pretty decent lightgun-like game, the closest to a real game of the genre imo, though nowhere near all time classics a la the HOTD series.

Robo(no t) Recall is somewhat modable mind you, there are free locomotion mods and stuff but I haven't tried them to know the quality.

For the same reason I didn't include Luckys Tale: I really didn't invest much time in researching Oculus exclusives tbh and Edge of Nowhere sprung my eye because of the setting. But I'll keep Chronos in mind, thx!
Also good to know about mods for Robot Recall, I had no clue about that too.

More Playhouse stuff from another dev twitter account I hadn't found before. This looks so promising to me. Last couple are older tweets from the main.
Stormland is good, but the gameplay loop is repetitive to a fault.
True, I had high hopes but in the end lots of complaints for the game. Still, I played it in 3 hour sessions until I finished the main part in about three of those and have now reached 20 hours total play time after also finishing the so called "post game" stuff (to me they're not post-game but a natural progression) once. I'll probably still complete that twice more to get the true ending or whatever eventually too (completing it on escalation level 2 results in this). Overall worth it.

Exactly.

It's almost like buying a game that only works on a particular monitor. And then when you eventually get that future tech 8k / 240Hz HW you can't use it with your software. It's really stupid.

If you like puzzle games. But for 25€, it's an easy recommendation.

So a few pages back I asked about getting into VR this year but have to cancel it due to financial reasons. I plan however to get in sometime next year.

Would love to get an Index but don't know if that is feasible. I am eyeing a more midrange version. Is the Rift S my only option for that? Or are there options on the horizon? Because if possible I would love to not give my money to Facebook.

Imo, yes, Rift S (or Quest if Link proves good enough and you counter the lower hz and comfort with its stand alone capabilities per your preferences) is the one mid-range option. Then there are Windows Mixed Reality kits with further reduced tracking accuracy/range and controller quality on the low-end (though some have better screens or higher resolution or whatever as HMDs vary they all employ the same 2-camera tracking and Microsoft's own controllers). Maybe HTC will have improved the Vive Cosmos tracking and pricing by then or some new product or WMR 2.0 with more cameras will exist and you can go for that or look into buying used Vive components to eventually upgrade to Index controllers (but dealing with the limited Vive wands should be avoided and Index controllers alone cost close to the Rift S). That's assuming your IPD is ok with any, S and all WMR except Samsung's only have software IPD correction limiting the range.

Who knows, maybe Valve will create an Index Lite that is basically more like a Rift S with the Index form factor and input layout (I doubt the controllers would retain all touch/force sensing specs as it would increase the cost and it would kind of defeat the point of a Lite option if you just save the cost of the base stations and tracking hardware within the rest of the components while also making it all unable to mix and match with/upgrade to the main Index parts).

But I wouldn't hold my breath, it seems like too much of a compromise for them to make (yet, if they support lower end stuff with their games anyway...).

It's why I buy all my VR games on Steam despite owning a Rift.

I'm a couple of hours into Trover Saves The Universe and if you like Justin Roiland and like Astro Bot then it's a no-brainer really. I've only played it "flat" but i'm going to give it a go in VR after my thrown together mongrel of a lunch.

Yeah, it's not Astro Bot but it works in a very similar way but i don't think you can 'lean' like in Astro. I might replay it in Kiddy mode to see how the censorship works because there's A LOT of swearing but hey. it's Roiland so you know what you;re getting.

Already on my wishlist but NetEase... anyway it supports both VR and Monitors so it might be worth finding out how the MP is handled and the cost. Might be able to get a Meta-Nostos crew together in the Co-Op Thread if the stars align.

Be interesting to see if you can mix monitor and VR users in the same group etc.

I don't see a reason to limit interactions between VR and non VR players, there's nothing competitive about it, is there? Anyway, it already doesn't sound too promising with those 10 hours of play (that devs often exaggerate). If you're only gonna do 10 hours why even try to have all these different side elements like the various vehicles and RPG stats and not focus on a few basics to make them as good as you can? Also, I thought this was previously reported as an MMORPG that you can play in and out of VR, but again there's nothing Massive about it after all. 10 hours sounds great for a linear FPS style campaign but not so great for something meant to be a grand open world or whatever else. The art style is nice. I hope it's solid anyway, it could be expanded later if so, but if it's bad, meh.

Edit: This is sorted then.
Nostos is NetEase’s first self-developed VR multiplayer online game with an open world setting, supporting players on both PC and VR platforms playing together.

I refunded Asgard's Wrath early on myself and explained why here, maybe if it goes on a sale similar to Lone Echo's 15 off or more I'll commit to it then.

Asgard's Wrath is nothing mindblowing, but i's a very solid game. Currently playing it.

Currently, my most anticipated VR games are Boneworks, Saints & Sinner and HLA.

I love physics based games. Blade & Sorcery is currently only a arena fighter (the devs are apparently making a campaign), but it is so much fun. Boneworks seems like B&S on steroids + a campaign that mgiht be very long. Brandon (one of the devs) stated on Reddit that people who likes games like Gorn and B&S can have 100+ hours in Boneworks in not too long time.

Boneworks will have a bunch of "areas" and I can easily see myself using a lot of time in each aerea just be playing around with the physics and using different metods to solve puzzles/problems and killing enemies.

I hoped for Asgard's wrath to be a bit better than okay tbh.

AFAIK they have an arena sandbox mode, where you can spawn enemies and have access to all weapons in boneworks. Maybe it is good, but I'm already a bit bored from arena shooting in raw data... It's too repetitive, at least there.
I really hope the campaign isn't going to be to short. I don't expect 12h from a 10 person dev team though, but maybe 6h?

I bet he's just running it in mirrored mode to his monitor with a bit of cardboard covering up one of the fishlens views either that or he's got his monitor strapped to his face like Google Cardboard Mega!

My Index randomly showed up today even though Steam still says it’s “shipping soon” 🥳

it’s my first time trying VR so played around in the lab for a while and what a trip. First impressions are amazing.

In that robot repair factory demo when the door opens and the busted robot walks through it was kind of terrifying ngl. Archery was my favourite so far.

Glyph has a paid DLC level pack if you like it too. It looks well done but I don't see why it's limited to VR, though I've yet to play it.

I followed lashman's example and finally played A Fisherman's Tale (I got it months ago).

It's surprisingly polished (ran at 144 FPS with good image quality throughout), it uses its gimmick well and in a variety of ways, and it doesn't overstay its welcome (took me a bit over an hour to complete). I'd recommend it, but only in a sale if you are concerned about game time / money.

MS are way behind the field in Console VR and the majority of their market is probably too "Hardcore" to want it.
They have WMR and HoloLens to play with and experiment so they are keeping their toes in at least.

That's where I'm at. I happily pay for games but I have a hard time to spend money on games that I might not be able to use with future headsets. I haven't paid for the few Oculus exclusives I've tried so far and I don't really feel good about that since I could afford it. But I don't want to get locked into an ecosystem, that's why I play on PC.

As you mention, Revive is an option but I'd rather not spend a lot of money on games where I depend on 3rd-party software to get them to work in the future.

My VR library looks like this at the moment:
  • ADR1FT
  • Batman Arkham VR
  • BoxVR
  • Budget Cuts
  • Call of the Starseed (The Gallery Ep. 1)
  • Heart of the Emberstone (The Gallery Ep. 2)
  • Hellblade VR
  • House of the Dying Sun
  • The Talos Principle
  • To the Top

+ some free stuff like The Lab, Google Earth VR, Spider-Man: Far From Home VR, Vader Immortal 1-3, Lone Echo, Defector and some games I forgot or chose to ignore.

I will probably grab some more VR games from my wishlist during the Winter Sale but these should definitely last me until then.
Look what finally showed up!

Now to find VR games to play! I'm not sure if i even own a single VR game. Is there a way to find out which Steam games support VR in the new library ?

What VR games are closer to a regular single player game in terms of duration?

The Mage's Tale seems pretty long (at least from youtube videos).

Why are you blurring out your installed games? What are you hiding Lashman? ANIME GAMES?!
Hellblade VR
I've forgotten that's a thing. I bought the original game on GOG back then (nothing beats DRM free in my book, not even Steam). I wonder if it is going to work with VR. Or is it like Fallout 4 VR where you have to rebuy the entire game?

So..... just got done installing and setting all that stuff up. I realised that i'll have to move some furniture around to make room. But so far as a first ever VR experience i must say i'm pretty impressed even with just fucking around with the tutorial stuff, it's pretty good. I'm especially impressed about how well the tracking works on both the headset and controllers. I was expecting something way more rough, But everything works nice and it's smooth, no jitters or anything. I was pretty skeptical of the VR, not dismissing it but since i never tried it, i wasn't sure what to expect from a technical standpoint, would it look/work good enough for it to be a good experience ? Yeah, it does, at least for the Rift S and more expensive headsets i guess.

Only did the basic tutorial stuff and included apps so far, but image quality seems decent. I had read text could be blurry/heard to read, even more because of it no having IPD hardware toggle, and the recommended ipd was 63.5 and mine is 61,, but it's pretty sharp all things considered.

I noticed that after taking the headset off and closing the app, the audio is still redirected to the RiftS, and i have to manually switch it back in the windows setting. Is the headset supposed to turn off after some time ? So far the light on both the headset and controller are still white.

For you people with the Rift S or any VR headsets in general, any settings that are recommended to turn off or on ?

Hellblade VR is very good indeed. I'm even able to use continuous camera movement here, unlike in FO4 VR.
I thought "controller" games and especially third person ones wouldn't work in VR, but Hellblade is proofing me wrong.
In all honesty: Hellblade works and a VR mode for Dark Souls could also work.

Not sure if I'm going to continue playing Hellblade VR though. I've already played through the standard version twice and don't feel like replaying it again. It's a good game, but replayability isn't that great, on the other side: it is really cool in VR. Wonder why people do not recommend it more often.

Congrats :)

It shouldn't do that with the audio though, it should auto switch back and forth as needed (you are closing the given game though, yes? you can push the right controller's menu button to bring up the dashboard and the first thing it should show is the currently running VR game/app to close, some games don't have a quit button and for others it doesn't quite work), especially for Oculus own stuff. It was sometimes an issue with SteamVR apps but mostly the opposite, that it wasn't switching audio to the HMD automatically, but it's been fixed on that front since (for most stuff, yesterday I played a SteamVR game that didn't switch audio to HMD so I guess it's not universal yet). The screens should turn off when you take the HMD off, yes. Original Rift also turns the light orange, idk for S.

And yeah the little robot tutorial is just so good to show the basic controls, grabbing and touching stuff, and gameplay potential with all the little devices it has.

People recommended games on page 17 and others when other new users asked.

Also The Climb just got the Quest port released, cross buy with the PC version and also lowered the default price to 30, it was 40 before like other O games.

Decent for new buyers with some through-the-lens recording. Seems like Link is already a success while still in beta and with less than ideal cables, so, cool.

This looked interesting but I'm not sure I trust that recentering action (you just bend the plastic and it returns lol?), control will still be loose as VR games don't do precise calibrating for it either (yet?) given your position clearly differs when just using the controller on thin air as your hand grabbing a virtual joystick than when you angle it to use it as a joystick itself and there's no deadzone or max value, plus it's potentially uncomfortable to reach all the buttons. Also if you don't already have the brand's magnetic cup it's not that affordable, you can get a solid joystick like Thrustmaster's T.16000M FCS for a similar price (without the straps and you'd set the VR controller in your lap to switch to the stick and back when a supported game requires other actions, if it's supported at all).

This currently looks like a prototype for Windlands 1 or something but, we'll see what they can come up with, I do love me some VR spidey web swinging.

Sound like fun,
The best for me was a friend showing off his CV1 with a roller coster demo, but he set it up incorrectly and the camera moved to the left when I turned my head to the right.

Another good one is to stand in front of one of the lighthouses. I did that before a friend had positioned his lighthouses properly and they were sat on the floor with the headset off less than 10 seconds later. There's a really weird experience when the lighthouses lose tracking on the headset, i can't really describe it but it twists your melon something fierce.
