It really is a genre & generation-defining experience.
A thing that struck me while browsing RPS' top XX games from XX genres is how recent a lot of the classics are.
PC games are very much alive and kicking. Time will tell if this or that endures, but it's nice to see a best of with many new games and not just, hmm, good old games.

I keep wondering if I should pick up AoW Planetfall standard or the Premium Deluxe. Standard and Premium Deluxe are both 50% off, Premium Deluxe includes the season pass which is only 10% off and costs therefore almost as much as the Premium Deluxe itself.

I wish Steam would let you add categories to your wishlist or a separate "just keeping an eye on" list. I add games that look like they might be kind of interesting to my wishlist so I can follow-up later to see how they were received. The problem is this makes my wishlist pretty useless for tracking actual games I want in the near future.

Have a sneak peak at March's releases

This one is already out, and a great short experience. The ideas it has how tell the story are incredible. It is sad and funny and forfilling (but only 1 hour short for 5€, so be aware of that).

Pick and Mix 3 games for $10. It includes Iconoclasts, Shadow Tactics, Book of Demons and more: Fanatical
I was wondering if Mudrunner was good, but I see there is an older game in the genre ? How is Spintires ?

That would be great. I have my wishlist sorted by "not released / released" and then by "must buy next sale / can wait" and then by genres but it is cumbersome with 400 games on the list.

Would be nice for us wishlist maniacs. Just the other day I wishlisted a bunch of diablo-like and sure could have used a folder.

When will Iffy put CollarXMalice on Steam? ;_;

I got it on my Vita, it's on PS4, soon on Switch. ... I really want it on PC tho and they just seem to have no interest in putting it there despite porting literally everything else.
After Amnesia sales? Never.

So 1 game made 50 million dollars on Steam in about 1 year and 4 months. And Witcher 3 was on many deep sales on Steam.

In comparison the total revenue of every 3rd party game on the Epic store for 1 year (I think) was 251 million.

Damn, Steam doing well.

Also, this shows that if you want continous revenue you should release your game on Steam.

Yeah I hope Valve adds some sort of folders or something for wishlists.

I just go through my Wishlist 2 or 3 times a year and update my # ranking order for my top 25 or so to keep titles of most interest on top.

It's not that hard to do and serves as a reminder of games I've completely lost interest in over the years.

Hmm, 300ko/s to download Plague Tale on Game Pass.
I guess that you get what you pay for, but this is not funny.

Wonder how the console and GOG versions of W3 are doing.

Crazy to think they are bringing in over 100 million probably on a singleplayer game 5 years after release.

The netflix stuff really helped. Imagine if they were releasing Witcher 4 this year instead of Cyberpunk. The hype along with the show would have pushed that game to so many sales.

As much as it annoys me you can take Tim's cheque and release on Steam later with some degree of success.

Metro Exodus seems to be doing fine despite a delayed launch. There is no doubt in my mind Borderlands 3 will do rather well whenever it launches.

Financially EGS is very attractive for devs since they guarantee profitability, any sales is therefore a net positive.

I think the games that have done somewhat well on EGS are Blands 3, Exodus, WWZ and Satisfactory. The rest? Not so much is my guess.

So pretty much the first exclusives and Blands 3 which would have done well even as a timed exclusive on Desura (does that even exist these days)?

How long will Timmy open the moneybag, though? Especially now that the companies KNOW that they can ignore EGS and the customers will buy the game on Steam 1 year later.
Thats like telling your rich friend you will always be there for him, but going to parties without him/her.

Tried AoW Planetfall again on game pass, need some stuff ironed out before I buy it, so will wait for next sale.

However, I will most likely pick up Rachel Foster before the discount ends, it's apparently like Gone Home which I really liked.

many indie devs would froth at their mouth if Valve would implement something like that. They are against the fragmentation of eyes on the wishlist. I can already see the twitter threads about devs moaning about the new wishlist feature because they are now on the "can wait" or just "keeping an eye on" list and not on the prestigous "BUY NOW" wishlist.

It’s still one month away and I’m already sick of Animal Crossing
Animal crossing can be pretty annoying yeah.

Add me to the list asking about Shadows Awakening: is it good?
Knowing that I reeeally hate Diablo-likes when the loot is meaningless stat sticks.

But the game seems to be more story/puzzle focused?

Huh, have you played Grim Dawn at least?

No, and I don't intend to.
That's why I ask, if the Diablo part is light enough to not be a bother.

Ennemies exploding into dozen of useless pieces of gear with +0.3% to wank a rabbit are not for me. As in, that's an insta-nope if it's not incredible on every other aspect.
Can't stand the stat sticks upgrades, "replayable" missions, and worse, the ones with added level scaling.

So clean browser and I still get:

Cannot load tweet. Disable your adblocker and tracking

Nothing is enabled lol
Firefox just recently updated their tracking protection to be on by default, previously you had to enable it. I've disabled it (just for Meta), there's a little shield icon to the left of the lock icon to the left of the URL you can click to interact with all of that.

Do we have a retro PC games thread ?
I’m wondering if I should try to make Dawn of War and Vampire more palatable graphically. I likely won’t do anything (Vampire patch obv excepted), because I’m ocd and dumb that way, but it can’t hurt to see suggestions.

Got interested in trying Long War mod in Xcom 2 for the first time, haven't played it since april 2019 (cool by Steam to show me the last time I played a game).

That's why I like to buy games instead of subbing to a service despite that the service might be good value.

Cause I know that I can get back to Xcom 2 now without worrying the game might leave or that my sub lapses.

I've changed my mind. I do not want Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch. I'm playing the Wii U version and know i'd buy it on Switch but i want to play other games. :worried-face:

Li Kao Try this for Hi-Poly, Hi-Colour and to skip intro videos.

There's links for the various Expansions on PCGW too so look them up if you have them too. I haven't played for years so that's about the depth of my knowledge.

I'd say it's sort of a toss up

I was going to say skip spintires but then I saw people saying it was getting updated again (I thought it was abandoned)

Turns out it's yet another issue of kickstarter shit with devs basically backstabbing each other over money!

TL:DR: Spintires split in two/seperated and thats why there's Spintires/Mudrunners but the original game is actually being updated again and getting DLC and stuff and they're basically shitting out sequels for the subsequent other game.

So which one is better? uh.. No idea! They're both pretty cool from everything I've seen and play fairly similarly. I'd probably go with spintires when it's cheaper but that's my gut reaction after looking into stuff (And i might end up being wrong)

Been hugely sucked into Frostpunk lately from humble. I love this kind of management/building stuff. Nearly finished the scenario, but got caught without enough coal at the end. Definitely going to buy the DLC.

Kingdom Under Fire II being 40% off is tempting.

Has anyone here played it that has also played the previous ones (specifically Crusaders and a Circle of Doom)? If so, how does it stack up? Similar? More strategy or more musou?

And there looked to be some kind of pay 2 play thing. Possibly unlocking characters? Unless I misunderstood completely.

Do we have any confirmation on Doom 64 being available to buy on Steam normally (without having to preorder Eternal)? Can't find anything on it.
