Yeah we could see that one coming. Not a deal breaker for me but I could do without.

So 1h48 min till more HLA info from IGN.

An unfiltered interview should be one of the things.

Wait......ONE activation ?????

Does that mean if you change your MB the game won't activate again ?

Am I reading this right ?

I am triggered by the fact that the ear on the right is cut. Damn, Valve!

And fixed by myself.

Voices of reason !
But then again I can get a Rift today, who knows when they will available again :thinking-face:

Edit. I mean maybe I'm a tad pessimistic with this and my fear of new consoles delay the other day, but look at that.

DAYUM :sweaty-blob:

Anyone who still believes that the consoles will launch in November or December should stop dreaming.
MAYBE they do a paper-launch. But the consoles need hundreds of different parts, even if they miraculously jump ahead of Samsung AMD and Apple in getting those parts, there just needs to be one part that is still not available to tank the whole show. They can't just use another part like a PC manufacturer, and if it is a nand or RAM supply issue, goodbye until middle next year.

Better buy that 9900k I guess

So, Death Stranding on EGS is getting the HL cosmetics as well, what If the game on EGS activates on Steam? It has online components right? All the 3rd party Key sellers have Steam keys, Maybe ia easier Just to have one sku for the game on PC.

That would be hilarious.

Unacceptable. Really, really unacceptable. This is why I was against that particular form of DRM in particular, and the potential for this kind of abuse of its capability.
This is insane, PC gamers change their system all the time. Surely that can't be lifetime activation.
It's all too common to change motherboard or reinstall OS on PC, no PC game can lock you out of this for that.

I can't believe it. I just can't.

My monitor shows a grey screen. How fucked am I?
Worked just fine yesterday evening.
I already tried driver reinstalls, changing the port on the graphics card and even using a different cable (HDMI instead of DP), but no dice.
Is there anything else I haven't tried or will I need to send it back and get a replacement? (It's 2 months old)

It's also a method that is inherently hostile to virtualization unless I'm mistaken. Say you are using GFN or another cloud provider : each time they spin up a new VM, the underlying hardware ID is going to be different since your data moves around based on availability.

If you are like me and have to use virtualization in order to play demanding games, then you will not be allowed to play this game at all by denuvo.

It's just anti-consumer bullshit that makes a crappy monday worse.

Having played the FFVIIR demo and it is quite good. I hope it gets something like the Gambit system of FFXII though

Also, the boss fight in the demo is super tedious. Maybe it is me not fully getting the combat system but there were instances where I couldn't use items. The combat system is better than ATB which is absolutely dogshit. But that bossfight felt needlessly long.

When the government is more preoccupied of the impact of the narrative on the population than the actual issue...

Not surprising after what happened to Li Wenliang.

Li Wenliang (李文亮; 12 October 1986 – 7 February 2020) was a Chinese ophthalmologist at Wuhan Central Hospital who on 30 December 2019 warned fellow colleagues about a possible outbreak of an illness that resembled severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), later acknowledged as COVID-19 on WeChat. He became a whistleblower when his warnings were later shared publicly. On 3 January 2020, Wuhan police summoned and admonished him for "making false comments on the Internet". Li returned to work, later contracted the virus from an infected patient and died from the disease on 7 February 2020, aged 33.

That guy from Hinterland (Long Dark) has pretty much confirmed what we were thinking, btw:

Also, something is probably coming this week on Steam? There's only 2 weeklong deals, indicating a sale later in the week (tomorrow?) of some sort. Anyone has an idea what it could be?

I also think It's basically going to force the question about licensing with stuff a lot sooner, by licensing I mean do we as players actually own anything when you buy a game (However confusing that is) you're simply granted access to the game and content but you don't own it.

Like how Adobe does it with their licenses and other program companies. John Deere does it with their tractors, you basically own a giant hunk of junk unless they continually give you access/get paid.

I know who gives a shit about tractors

And this is why copyright law should get renewed for 2020s.
