Sounds exactly like how I roll in souls.... exactly like that!
I actually tried that blue tank strategy and failed miserably! Then I've read somewhere about a build that focuses on quick healing and being able to move while healing. I was very skeptical of it but I had nothing to lose so I tried it. It ended up making that fight so much easier that I kinda felt dirty about it afterwards
I used a magic-focused build with no healing at all after trying out many different things.
The game does give you a lot of options!

The Gears Tactics price is legitimately laughable,, LIKE 70 FUCKING EURO?!
You gotta be a real special game to make me drop such an amount of munny on you

If Doom Eternal was DMC wrapped in FPS controls, HL:A is definitely some kind of RE game wrapped in a Half-life skin, and to me at least it's worse for it. Just add more combine enemies to create more interesting fights and give me some goddamn ammo, I don't know why TWO major FPS follow ups in a row decided that heavily restricting ammo is what is fun about shooters.
DOOM Eternal doesn't restrict ammo tho, the infinitely respawning grunts + chainsaw give you an infinite supply, they just restrict the total ammo cache you can hold at a time in order to force you to switch weapons more often and to create more micro decision making.

And in my opinion, that was very fun.

Day late, but happy b-day to Square-Enix. The merger of the two at least, April 1st 2003. Can't really name a publisher/developer combo with more influence on my taste and preferences in games.

I even like their crappy games for the most part. 3rd Birthday? Ok in my books. Type-0? Easily a top 10 FF to me.

I just wish they would use their in-house CGI team even more, and also I wish their PC efforts were a bit less wobbly.
I really wanna play 3rd Birthday one day after all the things i've heard of it, too bad it's locked to the PSP.
It's about time for them to revive Parasite Eve!

That's stretching the definition of "restricting ammo" a bit. Chainsawing involves finding a grunt, getting in close and staying there for the duration of the animation. It stops you shooting, and it makes you do other things which is what running out of ammo does.

Whether that's fun or not, you can't really say that Eternal doesn't restrict ammo. That was pretty much the centerpiece of the new design.

Some people just really love Gears...

Well lashman dropped 70€ on the game (Steam says he owns it), so MS might see it as a good price.
...See?

I hope he posts impressions if he really does own it. Want to see if it was worth the investment

You remind me of that failure of a game, Star Ocean 5. It bombed hard on PS4 and yet until now there is no news about PC port.

It hardly feels like a restriction if you make full use of your tools, since you can always quickly generate the ammo you need and the process of doing so only takes a second, as it rewards you with plenty of ammo for each type. It only feels like a restriction if you insist on using only your favorite weapon or two and thus have to chainsaw more often.

By the looks of it S-E updated FFIX and literally deleted the game

So here I was enjoying my time with Black Mesa and suddenly I can't load any of my save files... :suicide-blob:
I'll try to reinstall but if that fails... I dread having to replay Surface Tension from the start...

You can also search for savegames online.

I played Black Mesa last year without me realizing that the Xen Chapters were still missing. I then just downloaded a savegame for the original Half-Life and finished it in glorious 90s graphics.

Has anyone here bought the Humble COVID-19 Bundle?
It looks really nice, but I have a third or so of the games and another third is not interesting at all. Add also that I have already bought a few new games the last couple of months which I haven't had time to look into.

You know what I was saying. Eternal is very stingy on ammo and requires you to play the way you described in order to get any. The game is fun for you because it requires you to manage your resources very tightly. That wouldn't be possible without ammo being restricted and maybe I'm wrong but I recall Hugo Martin making that point during the game's demonstrations.

Anyway, I think we're going to argue in circles here and I don't want to annoy you, I'll let it go :).

DOTA 2 and DOTA Underlords are way too hard for me. Can't win a fucking match at all, even against bots (DOTA 2). Kudos to people who are able to play those games, cause I just keep dying and yes Ive read and watched guides and tutorials.

Actually, Heroes of the Storm is the only MOBA game I've actually kinda got workign for me, but I didn't like it much, sadly.

FFIX is downloading 3.6GB of stuff, it’s fixed
They rolled back to an older version of the game, but I think they rolled back to an even older version than the public version before the failed updates.

Public version's id before the failed updates: 1658148
Public version's id after the rollback: 1554481

EDIT: After further checking, basically they rolled back into the beta version of an update from 3 years ago instead of the public version of that update. xd

Btw, even if FH3 and 4 didn't hit Steam, you all should play it despite of the trash that is the windows store. Both are fucking amazing. According to the Xbox stats, I got 36 hours in FH3 and 37 hours in FH4.

PS4 and PC (nothing on Steam or EGS).

Edit: nevermind, I guess it's the whole game.

Turbo mode is a godsend in any jrpg but in Trails games in particular I love being able to speed up those endless camera pans they do every time you enter a new area and in most cutscenes.

Yeah that does sound plausible since I've seen a streamer once nuke this boss with multiple successive attacks that probably depended on such build. So many nifty little details in this game!

This is totally unexpected but absolutely cool.

Good move, Bethesda.
It's the right thing to do for those players at the very least, but it's also a move that allows Bethesda to try and salvage their GaaS product. I'm not sure they would do this should 76 be less of a disaster.

I guess you can (?)
It's a bit vague but it says:

From now through 11:59pm ET, April 12, if you have already purchased Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net, you have the opportunity to get the game on Steam, including Wastelanders.
so I think it's too late..or maybe not...
Someone should give it a try...

Made it to the Clockwork Mansion in the level called "Clockwork Mansion" in Dishonored 2. I already feel too stupid for that but the animation looks cool

Someone at Square Enix: Those fuckers are still demanding a Nier: Automata patch, boss.
Boss: They want a patch? Let's give them a patch, then. That'll teach 'em to not bother us.
Someone at Square Enix: patch ready for Final Fantasy IX, boss.
Boss: RELEASE THE PATCH

I'm curious what the launch price is for Fallout 76 Steam.

The CD Keys link for a $10 Bethesda key doesn't work in USA and the next cheapest is around $20 at the other stores (GMG, Fanatical, etc.).

Trying to figure out if it's worth my time to dive in now or just wait for Steam launch. I bet it's $40 on Steam if I had to guess.

I hope the Fallout 76 deal is still good if you buy it now. Has anyone tried it yet?
I did but I won't know if it works 'til Steam release. What's strange is that cdkeys says you gotta redeem through the launcher and not beth.net. Aynone know why?
