Speaking of Switch games, just now I was looking to purchase Donkey Kong longtitle, be it digital or retail, and I can't find it for less than 47 euros anywhere. A 2 yo reissue of a 6 yo game. :yul_sad:

And the officially suggested voice chat option for cross-game groups is to use your cell phone :p
it would be magnificent!

Thank you all for your suggestions! :cat-heart-blob:
I'd say the Tales of games, a few of them are now available on PC.

If you prefer turn-based, check out MS Saga.
I have Symphonia and Berseria, I dunno which one to check out.
Couple that come to mind (on PC):

Atelier Sophie (or one of the other Atelier games on Steam, Ryza, Arland and Ayesha are first games in their respective sub-trilogies, though I've only played Sophie so far)
Nier: Automata
Tales of Berseria
Tokyo Xanadu eX+
Trails in the Sky
World of Final Fantasy
Xanadu Next
Ys VIII
Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection
I've yet to buy an Atelier game. I'll be sure to play one when I get around to buying them.
Tales of Berseria, I've yet to try it. I had stopped Nier A because I was a little burnt out. I'll play WoFF after I've played a handful of FFs (mostly 7 and 9)
Rest I don't own.
SMT: Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga, both run and look great on an emu
That's actually a good idea... I've never properly played a mainline SMT game besides few hours of SMT II Fan Translation
Dragon Quest XI, doesn't get more JRPG than that.
I wish I could buy it, but Square Enix's pathetic regional pricing was a big turnoff.
I really want to get it, but always online feature kept me away.
Koudelka (unnecessary, just if you lightly hate yourself)
Shadow Hearts
Shadow Hearts II
And forget there was a thing called SHIII.
Yeah! I've heard a lot of good things about Shadow Hearts. Looks like I'll have to try this next.

Next up in my "to play" installed library is Remnant, Ion Fury and Dawn of War 2. Still, have no idea when I will get the time for my Switch backlog (Luigis Mansion 3, Cadence of Hyrule and FE Three Houses). I also have a bunch of 3DS games I wanna play.

Im actually pretty much done with my PS4 and Xbox One backlogs, only use them for for games that are not on PC.

Both games releasing on the same day on October 13th. On console physically both will be bundled together for $60 so its likely that they'll be $30 each on PC.

Crazy that they're releasing 2 never before localized titles with day 1 pc ports on the same day for that price but hey I'm not complaining.

Jumping into emulation, it makes me really hope that Sony will bring their older games on PC.
Ratchet does not like PCSX2, neither does Jak and Sly Cooper. Framerate wise there's no issues, but the mipmaps are glitchy as fuck, and fixing that is reeeeally annoying... and it defeats the purpose if you do it in software mode, it doesn't run well and you can't use most of the extra stuff brought by an emulator.
Weird ass rendering techniques from first party games, eugh.
:anguished-face:
Yeah I know what you're talking about. However, I've recently tried all of those titles on the latest daily PCSX2 builds and most of those graphical glitches were gone. Even in hardware mode. Try giving it a shot.

€1 for Octahedron is a no-brainer. Seriously people, buy that game. It's awesome!

Not a bad bundle, but it's mostly just repeats from the previous Square Enix Collective bundle.
I wish they'd have a Square Enix Japan bundle one of these days, but that's probably not very likely. Unfortunately.

I really enjoyed both Octahedron and Boundless. Turing Test was alright too. Never tried anything else but own most of this bundle already.

I believe there are four new games from the previous bundle:
Oh My Godheads
Fear Effect Sedna
BATTALION 1944
Boundless

The rest are same as before, there are no games removed from the previous bundle. Plus it's cheaper than last time

Forgotton Anne is very good.
Tokyo Dark is decent.
Goetia looks to be decent, but I haven't played it much yet.
Haven't gotten to Children of the Zodiarcs yet

Is Robotics:Notes Elite a remaster of Robotics:Notes?
Might be a good entry point for me if so since I never got around to that.

The fact that it was Japan exclusive might have something to do with it.
(The anime, as usual with SciAdv adaptations, sucks)

I don't know how to mutate :lampblob:
I am a simple man.
I just punch things.
Gimme dinos and I will rush them
Gimme badass knights and I will rush them
What if your dinos were also flying cat-shark-bears with lifelink and trample (obviously dinos have trample) and maybe deathtouch. (Deathtouch plus trample is particularly hilarious in MtG because 1 damage kills so the rest tramples over to HP).

Mutate is a cool new thing from this set that allows you stack your creatures on top (or bottom) of each other. It keeps text so stuff like trample and flying and so forth carry over to the mutated card.

I played through an hour or so of Dragon Marked For Death, and the game has made a positive first impression. (y)

The game is supposed to be INTI CREATES doing a SP/Co-Op Action RPG, in 2D side-scrolling form, with a 16-bit look.
And it feels like your usual INTI game, in a good way, but with random loot, and a different cast of characters that cover a number of your more or less typical RPG classes.

I'm playing as a Shinobi, a fast and agile character, with high damage but with a relatively low HP, and it basically controls like Mega Man Zero/ZX, mixed with some bits of Strider, and Shinobi. So yeah, a whole lot of kick-ass action to be had.
The character has a fast dash (that can be pulled mid-air), that also acts as a "lock-on" mechanic, wall-jump, a fast-hitting sword, and yeah, shurikens/projectiles. Really fun character.

I decided to play shadow of the tomb raider on PC after taking 150 hours to beat persona 5 royal and ff7r. This was a mistake. The game is as painfully mediocre as I remember and I find myself going through the motions, mindlessly hitting the batman vision button to pick up a bunch of junk that I don't even care to read the notes on. I think I shot someone at some point but the whole session went by in a haze that I'm not even sure I was fully awake for.

I'm surprised you specifically didn't realize the entire Tomb Raider series is mediocre before now

Who says I didn't? You can find posts on neogaf from around the time TR 2013 came out with me going off on it constantly lol.

I was originally planning on starting pathfinder kingmaker but starting another 100 hour rpg after those other games felt a bit exhausting to me.

I mentioned wanting to check out Lobotomy Corp. a few days ago, but holding back 'cause I'm buying more than I'm playing these days.

Well I'm sure the writing was on the wall by that point. Now I'm roughly 10 hours deep and damn is this game fly.

It's a tough game to categorize. Definitely Management. Kind of RTS w/pause. You collect bizarre stories like Sunless Sea/Skies. There's base expansion & character upgrades that remind me of XCOM or Fallout Shelter. Gotta have that Rouge where a team wipe sends you back to Day One but you maintain all your creature research and armor/weapon collections. Add a slight brush of anime with a heavy dollop of cosmic horror. There's a lot of moving parts, yet the raw mechanics are relatively simple.

As a new administrator for Lobotomy Corp. you're tasked with overseeing the collection and energy harvesting of odd creatures known as Abnormalities. Inspired by SCP series lore, these Abnormalities can take on any manner of form. From the mundane like an old grandma in a rocking chair with empty-socket, black eyes to a skin tarp stretched across 4 canvases, each with a different mood-face. Each has unique properties, gimmicks for interacting with and extended backstory lore logs that range from the curious to surprisingly dark. I believe there's over 100 of them.

There's a wonderful day to day, push-pull gameplay loop of gathering energy and creature intel under increasingly dangerous conditions vs. simply getting your daily quota of energy units and punching out for the day. But you always want to stay longer to complete an creature profile (revealing weaknesses, backstory, etc.) or farm unique energy that's used to purchase weapons & suits. But doing so puts your employees at risk as there's a "meltdown timer" mechanic where every time you visit a chamber a chunk is added to the MT pool. Setting it off can be managed but it gets worse where creatures start escaping and wreaking havoc or even worse buffed baddies start teleporting in.

Then with each successive day and each new Abnormality added to your facility, the demands to your daily ops become more complex. Remember how I mentioned each creature has unique qualities or personality quirks? Well some are benign, but others are more of a resource drain. Remember sweet old grandma? Yeah well when you finish her intel research you learn that she's so lonely that if you don't visit her 1:1 against other research chamber visits, then she gonna do the Meltdown Shuffle all over your team real quick.

And thus begins the glorious dance of prioritization & employee management. It's almost puzzle-like and super-fun & satisfying. And while there's the RTS element of "go here before this Meltdown timer counts down" or "get downstairs asap and eradicate this menace that terrorizing the halls", all these antics are fully signposted and triggered by the player. So you have time to think between moves as the player (mostly) initiates drama. It makes you feel in control, only begging the question how far you want to push that line. Expect to lose employees. Expect them to go insane...or worse. That's okay, you can always throw more meat at the grinder.

All this with the glorious backdrop the truly bizarre living in plain sight. That's the interesting thing about cosmic horror. People aren't running and screaming over some weird creature. They're just part of the landscape. Yes strange and otherworldly. But the unexpected is expected. Gives the whole setting an attractively sideways vibe. The unique creature art and backstories are a big part of the appeal. Kinda like Sunless Skies where you can't wait to discover the next scrap of story, here each new creature feels like opening a new present.

In the end Lobotomy Corp. feels unique & scrappy. Kinda janky (dodgy Korean to English translation). But with a sense of identity and charm that you just don't see outside of the indie space.

Certified gem.

I've been playing Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods and its very weird to see a settlement of 50+ NPCs where less than 5 are interactive, unlike G3.

honestly not sure if anyone is interested hasnt really been the case in past but eh ill talk about it here.

i made a mod years ago for titan quest which involved me changing how damage is calculated. titna quest has a hidden stat for physical damage which is x pshys vs x monster vs x chance to hit monster in arm body leg or head. you dont see this stat and it completey unbalances phys from pierce and magic. so i basically overhauled all the damage calculations. in doing so i also changed how strength and other stats of percived, and how many points you recive per level up.

i also made it so legendary items (normally purple and cannot have relics on them) now roll as a green item, this means a purple item for instance take axe of tereus it now can roll something like ferocious axe of tereus of annihilation. which adds multiple stacks of phys damg and other things. what makes this mod even more fun is something the base game does and something no other arpg i can think of does is the monsters have a chance of dropping the exact item they was wearing. so if a monster is using the for instance the ferocious axe of tereus of annilation they have a chance of dropping it but are also a shit ton harder than say if they had something else.

i also reworked how the skill system worked fixing multiple bugs in the skills and also kept the side skill bar in places (instead of 32 levels it has 124) bnut the top tier skills now unlock after 10 points thus meaning you can get to your fav skills earlier, every skill now has higher level count and scales differently. the side bar also gives different levels of strength etc and the reason i pumped it to 124 is due to the fact for someone like me i only invested in a few skills so i had loads of skill points in original game without having nothing to put them in.

you probs also wonder how this balances things or makes thing not too easy. well it doesnt. everything i do mod the philopshy behind it is fun first and foremost. which leads to the next point and why i really do rate titan quest as a top tier arpg.

remmeber earlier how i said monsters drop/wear gear. well thats part of the balance too because well every monster can have all these items so when you run into a pack of 10 skeletons each of them all wil be wearing different weapons and items with all different affixes and suffixes which have all been changed in my mod. they also benefit from the damage calcuatlions and the strength and skill changes. i also increased monster density and made bosses spawn as 2 instead of 1.

xp gain was increased by alot and so was money. vendors also can now stock green items.

if people do want this ill have to dig it up and see if it still works regarding titan quest atlantis, i may have to update a few things but i will be willing too.

this also moves into another mod im actively working on and im not sure if interest is there either

the original doom and doom 2 and dookm 64 this will work on im working on versions for each of them,
the summarary of things is

so i change damage values of every weapon. regarding doom and doom 2 i have added the unmaykr into the game. with the alien laser power ups scattered into a few select levels to then get the final result.

the rocket launcher has a secondary type to turn into a tri rocket launcher.

the main part of the mod is monsters. they now de evolve until a simple pistol guy i like to call them. so a cyberdemon for instance you meet one of those its a nightmare because he de evolves through every other monster. so you kill a cyberdemon and he will de evolve into a mancubus on death. the mancu will turn into a hell knight and baron of hell, up death the hell knight goes into aranatron same for a baron then a cacademon, so when you have a hell knight and a baron of hell it becomes alot more interesting :D

ive obviously accounted for things like this im a slowly going through levels and changing spawns so things dont turn into a half hour battle and im changing other things aswell

Footage on the ideal spec:

I imagine it's max settings 60fps at some resolution...
Really wish I remember where I got it, because much of what I had was not shop bought, but I definitely had an original cassette version of what must have been v2 for the C64. I remember liking the clam shell box it was in.
New version is 150GB HD space required, wonder how many cassettes that would be. Which I guess boringly would come down to how fast could data be reliably read back off the tape storage.

Nioh is really fun. The mission structure is so vastly different from the Souls series but it works really good actually.
Currently at Hino-Enma and it's brutal. Just as expected. Did 2 tries and noticed that staying close and luring her melee attacks is much easier than staying far away. Her paralyze spells and flying attacks are much worse.
Still, I realized that exploring the level and beating the regular mobs is much more fun to me than the boss fights.
Also doesn't help that I haven't figured out how to summon other players for help.
