Yay! Glad you were able to get it! :highfiveblob:

Hopefully that previous battle with customer service for the first purchase ended or ends with you getting your refund.

I can take some time during my lunch break to test things out. Fingers crossed that latency won't be an issue with 3 folks from different parts of the world but I'm feeling pretty confident that things will go well. :)
I hope you and FunktionJCB will forgive me for this missed opportunity. I was starting my first solo mission. Still getting my feet wet... and head crushed by an ogre :face-with-head-bandage:
(I took my revenge in the training mission :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye: )

Sooooo, a bit under an hour in I'm enjoying Oninaki more than I thought.
I like how it looks.

The textures have this painting-like style that masks the low-poly look nicely.
It also helps that it runs at 4k 144fps, but that shouldn't be surprising since it's bog standard Unity (still, I keep being surprised when I run into Japanese games without FPS locks, haha).

The 2D art is also very good.

I like how you basically fight with stands :p Each one has a skill tree with lots of active and passive skills - as well as memories that give you backstory of the ghost that possesses you (I really like stuff like that) and unlock more parts of the skill tree.
Can't say much about the story so far, but I'll probably be happy just collecting and training my stands :D

I have to use a HP cheat in Ion Fury at times. It's a really good game, but very difficulty at times.
it is SUCH a good game! Its a real shame it was surrounded by that controversy and therefore got attention for all the wrong reasons, and not for the fact that it is just a great game. But yeah, it can be difficult...I probably played it on easy like most of my games. I think I mentioned this before... everything thats not an immersive sim I tend to play on easy. Immersive sims I usually play on the hardest difficulty. Ah I would love it if Eidos Montreal made another Adam Jensen Deus Ex.

No worries at all! As Funktion said I'm sure we'll all get together again soon. Whether it's one of our co-op events or some random day I'm always up for playing some Dragon Marked For Death with you two. :heroblob:

That's why I don't like Origin: You don't fucking find old games to buy. I wanted to play Fifa Manager 14 (the last entry in that series) and no one sells it. Except for some amazon and eBay seller for 200 bucks.

Finally preordered Command and Conquer game on steam (The first one)

I used to able to remember all the game I've preorder, I really did. But now I don't give a fuck

E: The wildest thing I've encountered is people on C&C sub reddit having good memories of Tiberian Sun. Red Alert 2 I understand

But Tiberian Sun what the actual fuck. Muddiest game I've ever encountered

What do people like about that game so much? Every time I see that character for some reason his art turns me away.
Same. Also it smells of potentially unearned gravitas and due to the presentation I have this prejudice that it's gonna be like a middle schooler trying to be profound. But it might be fine...

The more time I spend playing Battle Chasers Nightwar, the more clear it is to me how much less I would enjoy the game without a turbo toggle. I now have ~10 hours more in-game time than Steam tracked playtime. That's 10 hours I would have spent moving slooooowly over the world map or re-re-re-re-rewatching battle animations.

Gotta say, making a collection of Steam called "Games I need to remember playing" where I put, mostly handpicked games, all "one and done" games have helped me a lot on clearing my library for one and done games.

I just create yearly COMPLETED folders in my library to help me sort everything I need to play or have played (or even replayed) like this....

So there is still a bunch of stuff in my 2020 folder I've yet to play and if I don't complete them b4 the end of the year I'll just move them into a newly created 2021 folder next year. Or just toss them out if I don't see myself ever playing them.

Its like a never ending delayed backlog.

Truly this the case for so many games. RPGs and TB games in particular are guilty of it but there are lots of others with unskippable repeated animations or whatever. After I've seen it like 10 times, let me skip it! In some games they can be used well (thinking stuff like intentional slo-mo in Tekken 7 at end of round or X-Com when taking a crucial shot), but generally they are an annoyance and a large part of the reason I use Cheat Engine so I can skip that stuff or fast forward it!

Praise be the Turbo mode! Put it in everything!

Yeah, EA could easily be offering way more of their own older games at least, but they just don't for some reason, and it sucks. I'd really like to have The Sims 1 & 2 digitally, for example. Or SimCity 1. There's many more they could be offering and aren't, and it sucks.

There's a Prologue (basically, the word everyone is now using for Steam Demo ;)) available for the upcoming RPG, Zoria: Age of Shattering:

Oh, I have this on my whistlist.

I like the visuals, but there's still much work to do, like the animation and UI. Also, I know it's the prologue, but the encounters seem pretty uninteresting from what I've seen. The enemies go down in a couple of hits, so the ranged party members can just use all their APs in a single turn to kill one enemy at a time. There's still time for the full release though (but I have a feeling they're going for early access instead).

Also Wow, credits. The Uncharted 3 credits lasted something like 12 minutes (I'm guessing that the Last of Us and Uncharted 4 credits are even longer) and then you look at Valves Credits in Alyx and Dota Underlords and they are less than 3 minutes.

There is a lot to it, but the credits for that sort of stuff is sort of a stark difference.

AAA is not worth it.

So it's been about 10 years now since the PS3 Uncharted games came out. I was able to finish the remasters of the PS3 games. Prior to this I did play a bit of them on my cousins PS3 but that was in maybe 2016/17 or so but I never got very far other than maybe 20 minutes of game play sort of stuff. So in other words when the PS3 games were still relatively new I had not played them or had interest in playing them. I think it was around the time that Uncharted 3 came out that I had heard about the series (I'm not 100% sure though)

Had I known about this series would I have purchased a PS3 just to play these games? No, I would not. But If I did have a PS3 I likely would have purchased them from Gamestop for cheap.

I thought the games were good but they didn't really wow me. It was not until Uncharted 3 when I started to care about the characters, also the villains in Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 or somewhat forgettable.

Were all of these games originally 30fps? Because when I played them on my base PS4 at 60fps it did not feel "okay" it felt like someone just hit 2X animation speed for stuff. This is especially noticeable in 2 and 3 for their chase scenes.

The story over wall was not that good and I was confused about stuff.

The real highlight were the action pieces those were really cool. They felt really well done in Uncharted 2, some parts did feel forced but overall they were cool.

With Uncharted 3 I do feel mixed about the camera angles that they choose. They do help make chase scenes feel like one continues movement but they also just feel "off" like you are not in complete control of things but it is not to bad because it is pretty easy to tell where you should be heading during those chase scenes.

My copy of Uncharted 4 should arrive by the end of May.

For now I plan to finish OG Persona 5, then either play the Last of Us or Astral Chain.

In 2 I did a lot of hip fire and punching people after and "blind fire" in 3 they made it worse so there is really no point in doing that.

I didn't really "punch" enemies in Uncharted 1, I thought the system was very simple if you id want to though. In 2 they expand on that and make it so that you have to time counters now. In 3 it's basically a quick time event.

Stealth is pretty pointless in Uncharted 1 because of the level design and how it's sort of designed like a shooting gallery, in 2 you have more stealth options and in 3 I found myself using it the most.

As for worse that all depends on how you play the game. Because you might just take cover and aim and then shoot, in which case all three are vaguely the same.

In 1 and 2 enemies feel like they are bullet sponges and feel less so in 3.

I also picked up Dragon Marked For Death per FunktionJCB recommendation. I haven't given it a shot yet but if it supports four players I would be interested in joining in on some games. Do I need to reach a certain level to match up with you guys?
Yep, it supports up to four players and you're always welcome to join us. :)

And you should be good to join us anytime after you finish up the tutorial. We'll have to do some lower level quests for a little while but it's really no problem at all. We'll still get xp and gear. Plus the extra crafting materials are always nice to have too.

That's more to do with the licenses for sports games that use real teams and players than anything to do with Origin. They aren't for more than for a year or two and once it expires the sales the title would be getting at that point make renewing them not worth while.

Valve credits are just every Valve employee too, not just the people who primarily worked on Half Life Alyx. While I'm sure everyone on Valve did something with Alyx, even if it was just playtests, there are probably a significant number of them who didn't really work on Alyx.

One thing to say above Valve vs other companies is that they don't have the time or sales pressure that other companies have thanks to Steam and their GAAS. While it's super impressive what they were able to accomplish with 350ish people (and likely a lot less working on the game full time) you can't directly compare it's development to something like Uncharted.

You get used to the main characters looks (and to the voice acting).

It looks absolutely fantastic

It has a lot of variety

and is just crazy in the best possible way

and that's only a small part of the stuff I already saw, and I'm only in chapter 6 out of 22.
It boggles my mind that this is something 2 developers made. The amount of work that must have gone into the spritework alone is insane (it has a ton of cutscenes and they are all pixel-art).
I also find the gameplay to be very good and it's weird, dry humor works for me, as well as the more serious parts.
I think it's very good.

Shadow harvest: Phantom Ops is one of the yellowest games I've ever seen

Is there a particular reason why devs back in the PS3 and Xbox 360 era wanted to do stuff with this color in some of the screenshots that I recall from Bad Company 2 I think there are scenes that have a color like this but are not this intense. Also Resident Evil 5

Ya, it's just what they always do their "Valve is..." thing. Which I think is pretty cool because I mean you get your name in a game, which not that many people are able to do.

Also the way that they do it is interesting as well, because you just see stuff like Gabe Newell's name in the credits like everyone else and doesn't have some big show off type of thing. There is nothing wrong with standing out but ya the end credits for Valve games are strange because normally it would say "directed by", "produced by" "executives" but now instead it just says stuff like "test subjects" "Valve is", etc. It's a very different approach. I wonder how people at Valve feel about that.

When it comes to credits I do find it strange how they will mention marketing directors and all of this other stuff for games and stuff like that, especially if you are playing the game in one region of the world and yet they are mentioning some one that helped "sell" the game to another part of the world.

I think Pokemon is one of the series that does not have a lot credits list just because there are not that many that work at Gamefreak (or something like that)

I wonder that too. The PS360 era was notorious for its abundance of "brown" games. Resi 4 was also very brown. Maybe it was because COD was very brown and everyone was aping it? but then again, even a game like Bayonetta was rather brown.

In the end I gave "NG+" in Scarlet Grace a try, got a different character (urpina).
I'm still confused why someone thought that locking fast combat/turbo behind NG+ was a good idea.

For some reason I decided to read TLoU2 spoilers, honestly, it sounds like a bad revenge porn. I hope the execution will make it tolerable, but damn it's some uninspired grey and grey moral wankery.
