What do people like about that game so much? Every time I see that character for some reason his art turns me away.
That whole game is one big love letter to video games. The graphics are very charming pixel art, and the gameplay, story, dialogs, humor and characters are superb! It's incredible how much love the devs have put in this game!

For some reason I decided to read TLoU2 spoilers, honestly, it sounds like a bad revenge porn. I hope the execution will make it tolerable, but damn it's some uninspired grey and grey moral wankery.
I like fiction telling a story with "grey moral" over stereotypical good and evil. In the end it depends on how well it is written and enacted. Hard to judge a story by a couple of paragraphs tbh. You can portrait the best stories out there in a terrible way while summarizing.

I like more complex story too, but I don't like the direction it took, there was so much to explore in dynamic between Ellie and Joel, instead they decided to go Jason Statham's "I'll avenge my brother" route from Furious 7.

I just hope that execution is better than premise.

Yeah, like BlindRhythm already mentioned, we can play at any time. :)
Of course, since I'm level 22 or something, and BlindRhythm is around 17-18, lower missions will be relatively easy for us. ;)

Was the entire script leaked? Just asking because I've only read general plot and ending spoilers. Maybe 10-15 paragraphs long. And it is really hard to judge anything from that other than that the it is not a straight forward good and evil story. Just like Tlou 1 wasn't, especially the ending. It was a matter of perspective.

What I'm trying to say: I don't know anything about character development in TLOU2, which makes it hard for me to already pronounce that TLOU1 was better in that regard.

That's true. But at least from my perspective even the general outline of the plot and twists shows that they went into direction that is uninteresting to me. Again, the execution might ended being great and nobody is going to complain about it, time will tell.

PlayWay, the publisher who has a lot of those "simulators" available on Steam (Thief Simulator, Cooking Simulator, Car Mechanic Simulator, you get the idea), and who frequently crowdfunds their games on Kickstarter, has an upcoming game that might be more interesting than their usual releases:

Now that you mention it, do we know more about this Polish publisher who floods Steam with all those Simulators ? Who's working there, how do they release so many games at the same time ?

Are they going to make not a racing game again? Republish Jericho and Turning Point too while at it.
seems like they are not :-D , this is probably gonna be DiRT related
Prepare to see something new roar to life in the world of DiRT, very soon. Developed by a separate Codemasters studio to the DiRT Rally team, we’re incredibly excited about what’s around the corner. We invite you to be part of a brand new experience, while also continuing to enjoy our definitive Rally offering.

From what I understand, they don't develop the games themselves (at least most of them), they just publish them. :)

They sign them, make a kickstarter campaign (to test waters, and to get some additional funds to improve the games), and then publish them on Steam.
They actually have a few enjoyable games, if you like the genre, like 911 Operator.

I was talking about this shitload of simulators all made with the same engine and looking all alike (and if I'm not mistaken 911 Operator was published by Games Operators at first, not PlayWay ?).

And Commander '85 is published by Ultimate Games S.A., not PlayWay :steam_cleanseal:

Ultimate Games, PlayWay, and Games Operators are surely connected.
Probably, like THQ and it's whole bunch of labels (THQ Nordic, Deep Silver, ...).

Many of the games I mentioned will feature more than one of the above companies as publishers.
And, while Steam lists Ultimate Games as the publisher, do check the Kickstarter campaign. It's from PlayWay. ;)

I forgot to mention: the game I posted above (Commander '85) is done by the developer of:

Jericho costs more than Fallen Order on grey market, not sure I'm willing to throw that much money because of it.

Turning Point is the game that teaches you how not to make a video game, but I honestly enjoyed it in "so bad, it's good" way.

Thanks for the info about Commander '85 being made by the devs of Bohemian Killing !

yep quite similar:
in case of Nordic there is "mother company" Embracer , that has subsidiaries THQ Nordic, Deep Silver and Covfefe Stain with each having their own suibsidiaries and teams.

Quick check about PlayWay Group:

+ they own 39% of Games Operators

One of my fans was making an annoying rattle noise so ive just unplugged it (Im lazy, cant be bothered to unscrew everything to get to it). I was a bit worried about temps so to check I ran FarCry 5 (the game that seemed to cause the fan noise) and recorded my max gpu and cpu temp...

GPU - 62 C!

CPU - 68 C!

I should be overclocking. Or I dont need nearly as many fans.

I was "pestering" Degica about releasing some more shmups and arcade titles, and I was asking for releases that weren't visual novels and RPG Maker games. As a reply they mentioned a couple of recent releases, among those a game called Hero must die. again.

Checking Steam, I see that Hero must die. again was co-developed by Pyramid, who did my favourite shmup on Steam, DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours, which makes me automatically interested.

Has anyone played this game (Hero must die. again)?
How is it?

thank you :)

how do they release so many games at the same time ?
they don't .... 80% of their "games" are only store pages with CG "gameplay" trailers ... some of those have been around for years and still are "coming soon" .... they basically do cheapo CG trailers en masse and whatever gets even a little bit of traction - eventually gets made into a game ... everything else just stays in limbo permanently

Oh... That makes a lot of sense... But as FunktionJCB and prudis showed, "they" as a whole constellation are also publishing real games, and even taking parts of Game Operators who publish real games. To do that, they need money in the first place...

Does anyone remember this game?

Several years ago, a quite young (I think) and aspiring new developer had a giveaway of his upcoming racing game. You get his game if you liked something, Everyone who liked got his game.
I just want to see the state of what happened to this game, but I can't remember the name of the game, and for some reason I think it's named Corona, which is most likely not. The giveaway happened maybe between 2014 to 2016, maybe even way back...

But even this "low-key" launch is clearly the next stage of something far bigger. Epic has been public about its desire to build Fortnite into a metaverse - a Ready Player One-style persistent place where people and brands can interact in ways beyond those currently offered anywhere else in our existing digital lives. The next big step to doing that, I think, is getting rid of those guns - making the no-combat Party Royale a significant twitch in Fortnite's evolutionary pupae.

Its one of 4 little ones that i have attached to one of the radiators for my water loop. I went a bit nuts with my latest install. Totally over egged it. My PC sits in the living room so the idea was to get it a quiet as possible.

Its nothing special. You cant voice chat with people that arent in your group and theres no text chat so its not like it can be a social hangout like Tower Unite, VRChat or Playstation Home and theres not really a whole lot to do except drive around on bikes or skydive.

Nothing wrong with a mode like it but right now its incredibly basic. They had a weird Major Lazer concert on it the other day too but it was meant to be a test and it showed.

The more time I spend playing Battle Chasers Nightwar, the more clear it is to me how much less I would enjoy the game without a turbo toggle. I now have ~10 hours more in-game time than Steam tracked playtime. That's 10 hours I would have spent moving slooooowly over the world map or re-re-re-re-rewatching battle animations.
I always wonder why stuff like that never pops up during development or playtesting, because it seems to be a common complaint.
Does noone involved actually mind? Are they aware, but just don't want to bother implementing it or it's somehow really complex?

Unrelated, but I'm incredibly baffled at how utterly terrible Humble is at presenting Choice.
Like, it is literally impossible to get a list of all games available without knowing the direct link if you are not subscribed.
I repeat, if you are not already a subscriber of Humble Choice, they do not show you a list of all your possible choices before you have to subscribe, unless you get the direct link from google or reddit or something.
How fucking bad do you have to be to design something like this. I can't comprehend it.

new Underrail game in the works
So instead of taking a hammer to our beloved game, we're going to improve upon all these things (that we yearned to do for years) in a fresh stand-alone game that will still be based on the same engine core and gameplay mechanics. We call this game Underrail: Infusion.

Which class did you pick ? We are Shinobi Witch Warrior, so the fourth one would be perfect, but feel no obligation to play that one as I'm sure the game plays great even in other configurations.
I think the game is showing a harsher picture of its difficulty than reality with its first mission, the rest as been far easier for me (with occasional spikes and I'm sure it can be though as nail on variant missions).
