Every single one of riots games are just ripoffs of other games with minor changes. Valorant being a huge blatant copy paste of CSGO. On that basis alone i refuse to play their game. Nevermind the god damn permissions u have to give to their anticheat to install their game. The only riot game i can honestly say is worth getting into is runeterra. Which is unfortunate because thats the riot game that has the least exposure.
I've been seeing a number of ads for it.
So people are learning about it.

Is that Valorant game even fun? I mean, it already compromises most of the innocuous programs on your PC just because they can't think a better way of combating cheaters. It'll be like adding insult to injury if the game is mediocre at best.
Some of the YouTube people that I watch said that they liked it since it was CSGO with a new coat of paint.

There are some that say it's a lot better than CSGO but the overall view seems to be that it's CSGO but easier to learn. The main difference of course being the abilities which is where it's different than CSGO and that seems to be were the praise is coming from.
I finished watching all of HLVR AI and boy is it something else.

The half life 1 story of relatively simple but it's crazy how you can (if you wanted to) also make up your own story to go along with it.

Ahahahaha. I was cleaning today and found my OLDDDD phone! (It's an HTC One (M7) ) Goddess above I forgot how sexy that all metal shell was, and those dual front-facing speakers. 👌 It freakin' reeks of incense lol. Since thats where it was this whole time, buried in my incense drawer. Battery in surprisingly good shape too, all things considered. Though it definitely feels slow compared to my S10+.

Anyway that's not the point. This old bugger still has my Square-Enix token app on it, and more importantly it's still linked/working. Which means...

To the FFXIV Players.

- I last left off somewhere around the middle or maybe 3/4 through Heavensward. How much stuff has been added since then?

- Can you still play with a controller? I felt like it was getting harder and harder on a controller to do full rotations (at least as a DRG) with such limited buttons. But in the end, it's still the most comfortable way to play for me... Nowadays, probably (just a guess) even more skills got added? If that is so, playing with a controller seems even more nightmarish. orz I would have to order a new mouse with lots of buttons to learn KB/M I guess.

- I heard they added bots to play dungeons with? Is that for old content too or nah?

- I'm not as social or free as I used to be. Is it possible to solo the story and side-quests?

That would be cool if that came as part of trading cards. Or would it mainly be limited to Steam events type of a thing?
not limited to events, if anything the first time might be limited but over time it would be added as an standard thing.

Two whole expansions.

Controller is very viable yes. Skills got pruned, less bloat now compared to HW. In fact total number of skills these days are more or less the same as back in HW.

- I heard they added bots to play dungeons with? Is that for old content too or nah?
Currently only for 70+ dungeons.

- I'm not as social or free as I used to be. Is it possible to solo the story and side-quests?
Yes, but you still need party for story dungeons.

Edit : for Shadowbringer, you can do dungeon with NPC.

I started playing Celeste the other day and the game is wonderful
but
I can't play for more than 1h before my hands start cramping from gripping the controller... This never happened before with any other pixel-perfect platformers like SMB or The End is Nigh. Fuck getting old. :suicide-blob:

I think clutching the controller as if your life depends on it is a near universal experience of playing Celeste 😅

Is this different from Project Stardust? How many of these fan project X-Wing games are going on?
Yes, this isn't just for VR and it will work like daggerfall unity and underworld unity, importing the original data files etc. (to the point modded missions in the original will appear modded in it). It's been in dev for ages. I don't think Stardust attempts to be a remake, it just is a game that lets you pilot an X-Wing in VR.

After a quick glance, defo go for FreeSync support. But one thing I noticed. Aren't there any 1440p options?
Not sure about pricing in your region but there ought to be. Well, at least I hope.
Those prices for "just" 1080p at this time seem like a bad decision. Good luck on finding the right thing tho!
Yeah, but sadly, I'll need to return the monitor I'm using as a replacement, at best, on Monday, so I need a new monitor, fast.
With some stock shortages, and huge delays, I won't even risk ordering something from an international retailer (I'm waiting for packages that shipped in March).

That website I linked to is located 2 minutes or so from my home, that's why I'll probably be buying from them.

I think Phoenix Point was a day 1 GP, but MW5 seems to be new.
Ugh don't remind me of that shit show that was phoenix point. I still have nightmares about that game. IMO the biggest flop in gaming history after no man's sky. This is why i no longer trust any product that advertises as "From the original creator/s of XXXXX game!". Julian Gollop may have been an xcom collaborator in the past, but his development skills obviously did not translate through time.

Guys, going back to my monitor questions, I need to order one until the end of today, so I can have it tomorrow.

I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to monitors.
People keep mentioning FreeSync, and I had to look for what that was. :giggle:
Do note I'm using a Nvidia card (GTX 1060 6GB), with no plans to upgrade it any time soon.

I'm looking for a monitor below the 200€ range, or, if the difference is worth it, I may consider going for a little over 200€, but I'm not looking at paying 300€+.
A few of the monitors below rotate to a fully vertical position, which is a good plus for guy that likes shmups and pinball games like me.

Any opinions on the following:

Or, if you want to look at what's in stock at the store I'll be using, below the 300€ range, you can check this link:

Any comments are welcome. ;)
Thanks

My monitor broke down at the end of March, so I had to buy a new one in urgency.

Bought this one :

Because it was only 140€ and was available in stock, but I'm sure there's better choices in your budget.

Plus there's the fact that Gollop sold his backers to Epic "because this would lead to a better and more polished game". That idiot won't see another cent from me, that's for sure.
lol MechWarrior 5 is up on PC Game Pass out of nowhere. Microsoft is cleaning up these 🥚 clusives.
Must have sold like hot cakes on EGS. 😊

I'm losing my mind over which motherboard to purchase for my Ryzen 7 3800x build. I had my mind set on the MSI B450 Tomahawk etc.etc. board, then noticed the cheapest x570 board by Asus is just 40 euros more expensive. I've spent pretty much the whole morning looking for comparison between the two boards and finding a whole bunch of useless answers ("sure, why not" or the opposite "a well-priced B450 is better than a cheap x570). I like to keep a build for around 6 years (GPU aside, which I usually upgrade every other gen). Welp.

Thanks for quick reply. One more small series of questions though.

1: Does Shadowbringers ever go on sale or should I just grab it whenever?
2: Does Shadowbringers include Stormblood, I can't seem to find a seperate page for Stormblood on Steam so I am assuming so.

I keep telling you AOC 24G2U!:D Its fast, IPS and a great price!

Like I explained, that monitor isn't in stock. Not at that store, and not at any local stores I'm searching (only an older variant, that is 75hz, is available).
Since I have some urgency, I have to stick with what it's in stock (which are the monitors from the last link I posted).

Go for an IPS monitor. The only IPS monitor you listed seems to be good enough. Geforce GPUs should have support for Freesync. I might be wrong, someone else needs to correct me if I am wrong
Thanks. I'm interested in knowing if Freesync works on my card as well. :)

So, based on all the comments, I'm tempted to go for this one:

It's more or less on my price range, it's IPS, it has 144hz refresh rate, and is freesync compatible.
Plus, I can rotate the screen.

I've seen some good comments on the monitor.
Any feedback?

Most important difference is PCI-E 4.0 on x570 vs. PCI-E 3.0 on B450.
Which is not really important right now as Gen 4 NVMe drives are still expansive and not necessary and Graphic Cards do not really profit from the faster PCI-E 4.0 connection. But those are things that will eventually change, especially over the course of 5-6 years.

For "cheaper" X570 boards the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite seems be to pretty descend.

1: It got a 40% sale a month ago on Steam and 50% sale in the winter sale. Other stores have gotten 50% sale as well. But you gotta make sure you get it for the platform where you have the base game, for example, if you have the base game on Steam, you can only get the expansion on Steam, or if you have the mogstation version, you have to get the expansion for mogstation (which includes 3rd party stores).
2: Yes, it includes all expansions so far.

I think I'll go for this one.

I've seen better monitors, but we are talking about a 400€ price range, which is out of my league.

With all that's happening, I won't risk ordering from abroad, and there's lack of stock for many products.
If I had more time, I would search for better prices and or products, but I need a monitor, fast. :)

Ah right sorry. But yeah I looked at a TUF first also but the one in stock wasn't an IPS after all. The new TUF fast IPSs are getting some great reviews!

I hope you get good use of your new monitor.

It makes me also want a new monitor. Currently using a 24" IPS FullHD monitor. It still works, nothing wrong with it. But I want bigger monitor with higher resolution. Not sure if I even need an upgrade :D

1 - :doubtblob:
2 - Like 90% of the content that will come to the market? IN WHAT REALITY DOES THIS PEOPLE LIVE IN? again, JUST LOOK AT THE FUCKING NEW PAGES THREAD and you will see that except for 3-4 games the rest is coming to Steam

I mean, MAYBE that person is talking about AC:vikings in which case, yeah, won't be playing until it comes, but still....laughs.

Thanks for your reply. the Gigabyte board was actually the one I was looking at right now. I now noticed that the MSI x570 Tomahawk board should be hitting the shelves in the next few weeks and they're getting pretty outstanding reviews. I might actually wait for that one to be available before I decide.

I don't understand his "point" either. But hey, if he's having fun with EGS only games, good for him. Unlike him, I don't judge people who don't play the same games as I do (except for anime games, of course :cat-heart-blob: ).
