It would seem that for the Japanese release they wanted to give sort of the same feel as the west, which is why the trailer uses a Japanese song instead of an English one (I think that LiS1 had the same English songs for it's Japanese trailers).

As Parsnip said, Beetle HW core is the one you wanted for PSX games. For PSP games, you can use the PPSSPP core. It runs quite well and being actively maintained for feature parity with the standalone PPSSPP.

how beginner friendly is the game? Also how is the BP, is it good ? bad. Were the previous ones better, is there enough content for regular to justify buying it sort of a thing?

Unless you've played other MOBAs (League, smite, etc.) DOTa is not very beginner friendly at all. The BP is amazing this year, it includes 2 personas and 3 arcanas and a whole plethora of shit. However to unlock those you either have to grind quite a bit or pay $$$$. It's about $40 per 100 levels, which gets you one of the "big reward" tiers which is ok considering all the rest of the rewards you get. But from everyone i've gotten hooked on dota, they all say they will start casually xD.

Finished Vagrant Story. Still great after all these years. The art style, translation and soundtrack are impeccable.

I think this game sits at the top of the list of "Beloved, yet unfinished" for me. Can't even remember why I put it down, probably the way weapon damage worked and having to swap them all the time?

I was living in Egypt in the late 90s and bought a pirated version of this when it first came out because the original Playstation games were at about 400-500 Egyptian pounds and a pirated version at 50. Go regional pricing GO!
Even me as a foreigner earning crazy foreign amounts of money couldn't afford originals. Made up for it since with the amount of versions of old Playstation titles I bought on various newer hardware over the years.

At the risk of rambling, how very 21th century ! A corporation trying to be human, honoring the fallen with a videogame pic.
It's not even bad, the tagline is nice, the pic well chosen, it's just... a strange world.
A little like the time I was in a semi-mall and there was a speaker talking about the brand accomplishments. It felt so very combine.

What I think is that they want a more polished version of their last update, but yeah, they keep giving hints for a date that won't be.

Basically the multiplayer between EGS and Steam players:

Starcraft 2 or Battlefleet Gothic ?

Very different games tbh, both in mp and sp.
I enjoyed the first StarCraft 2 campaign quiet a lot, but it went a bit downhill from there and I didn't even finish the last one. Gameplay was enjoyable, but the story reached a certain threshold of "bad writing" that I couldn't handle anymore. Multiplayer started very enjoyable for me too, but the third part also ruined that for me. The amount of needed micromanagement went through the roof.

Battlefleet Gothic 2 is a bit like a tuned down 4x space game, with a real time battle mode. It can get pretty repetitive, but it is enjoyable, especially for 40k fans. Still, I'd only recommend it on a discount.

Wouldn't surprise me if the weapon stuff was the reason. Having both affinity and class in addition to weapon type is a bit too much and it might have been a more fun system if they had had 2 rather than 3 of them to manage.

Wonder if Heavy Rain will the first Quantic Dream game I manage to actually finish.
Nomad Soul was fun for a while, but gets too annoying somewhere around the middle, and the less said about Fahrenheit the better

I think Dauntless and Fortnite are the only games with Epics crossplatform system. Both Blands 3 and Satisfactory (I assume) uses it's own thing.

I don't think it qualifies as a deck builder and it barely has any RPG mechanics but the story in Thronebreaker is pretty amazing. Just make sure to skip all the standard non mandatory battles since the game drags pretty much towards the end.

It's also on a historical low until the end of month.

I actually enjoyed Heavy Rain a lot. Beyond was a boring mess tho.
