looks nuts

I think there's something really broken inside me because whenever I see that kind of artstyle I feel like there's a black hole swallowing me. I don't know what it is, and it sadness me a lot. The game looks like an RPG I would very much enjoy but the surreal art in general shatters me so deep within inside that I cannot express it with just words.

Oh god, I guess a full year of bundles kind of adds up, uh? I should have started idling for cards way earlier, I had no idea I had this many drops. D:

Hylics' artstyle reminds me of an old Speccy game that i just can't quite remember the name of and it's doing my head in.

My first experience with new EA games on Steam is going well (Burnout). Black screen when launching it through Steam, crashes when alt tabbing. Good thing I got this for free.

What was the EGS revenue in sales last year? I think it was 350 million or something like that. So yea its gonna be interesting to see how much they sold worth of games this year. There isn't anything big for them this year too like Borderlands 3 from last year.

Ah, thanks. Will try that out.
It launched okay initially but then I tabbed out and it all started falling apart, so I wasn’t sure what caused it.

Unless Epic Store has some tricks up their sleaves, like the backend making it easier to support subscriptions, which I doubt, Steam is obviously way further ahead as it can support both subscription services and buy games normally like people do today.

As long as Valve never removes the option of purchasing games, Im never gonna have a problem with Valve puttins subscription services on the platform.

I’ve never ever understood the appeal of streaming. But that’s because I dont like watching people playing games I guess.
Only time I watch streams is when ther dev/pub streams gameplay on the game's steam page and wathing Easy Allies during press conferences/showcases on Twitch.

so if they're only going to tease it in August, what exactly has Rocksteady been working on for the past five years? I guess their first post-Arkham Knight project must have been cancelled, especially given that WB Montreal was developing its own Suicide Squad game for part of that time

A Justice League game would have been better than Suicide Squad. Especially as direct competition with Avengers game.

Maybe if this team up formula/design works for them they will follow it up with Justice League down the line. If not just make an ambitious Superman game pls.

I just don't know if Rocksteady can make a fun game out of playing as a bunch of C-tier villains. Hopefully the Joker is part of the game in some way to drive all the chaos. I know people were sick of the Joker being such a big part of their trilogy but I really love what they did with him in Knight.

I don't understand the following some streamers have but I'm kinda like an alien that doesn't partake in the idolization of celebrities so common in todays society.

As for streaming I use it for 2 things:
  • Dota 2 tournaments;
  • Watching some unedited gameplay from some random game I'm considering buying;

Today is when I go back to work for the first time since the end of March.

This time around I did have time to do some stuff. I wanted to maybe play either Last of US part 1 or P4G. Instead what ended up happening was I ended up playing Animal Crossing and watching YouTube videos while doing it. I think I'm going back to Xeno and getting further in that.

I ended up buying DQB1 for N/S. I never finished the game on Vita and while DQB2 is a lot better overall I still want to finish the story of DQB1 for myself. One of the main reasons as to why I never finished DQB1 on PS Vita was because of trophies. I want to get all of the trophies in one go on one run type of a thing and that sort of "ruined" the game for me. DQB1 is a lot shorter than DQB2 and because it doesn't seem like you can take items with you to other island that should make it a lot faster for me to finish up.

------

Also I need some help. My nephew wants to get some Star Wars Clone trooper figures (preferably 4 of them if possible), so that he can make a "clone army". The issue is that I am not too sure about price and how much something like that would cost. He was looking at this one old set up I told him he can't pose those ones. He wants to get some that he can pose. Do Star Wars figures typically cost about $20USD or something? Since I want to get them for him but go for more of economic approach because on eBay it looks like I may need to end up paying $20 per each one.

Is this mainly because some of the figures that I saw are from the 2006 era when Clone Wars was pretty big?

This is like one of the least suprising acquisition I can think off. They made Lone Echo for Oculus, an amazing space adventure game, Echo Arena, an MP focused f2p game which is great with a combat payed addon (not bought that one) and they are making the upcoming Lone Echo 2.

Facebook is crappy, but the VR games RAD has made are fantastic.

I think subscriptions can make a pretty big impact, but only if someone actually did a "Netflix" for games. Since content owners seem hell-bent on ruining even the success of the OG Netflix with tons of individual subscription services and geolocking, I very highly doubt that anyone will be able to do it for games. And per-publisher subscriptions, while they might be decently successful, aren't going to completely disrupt the "sold games" model.

Come into Vtubers rabbit hole.
I've been spending almost an hour every day watching vtubers lately. It's wild.

Will Oculus titles remain Oculus exclusive? Or will they also potentially arrive on PSVR at some point?

Yes, no sign of them coming to PSVR or Steam. There was that article about 1 year ago where Jason Rubin (Oculus person) talked about trading exclusives with Sony (PSVR), but nothing since then.

Gamepass is already there imo. They went from a couple million subscribers 3-4 years ago to now having 10 million. They are basically near doubling their count every other year. If Xbox gets that number to 20 or 30 million they will be bringing in so much money every year they will be able to pay off all their 1st party development expenses. And still have a lot on the side to moneyhat 3rd parties + do other crazy things to make the service grow.

They acquired a lot of devs too and they will start to pump out content soon. I don't see that service slowing down anytime soon. This year alone there was Ori, Gears Tactics, Minecraft Dungeons, Wasteland 3 and Halo Infinite (maybe). And also a possible new Forza game. Those titles alone are incredible value for both console and PC gamepass cost for a year. And that is not counting all the other 3rd party things you can play.

Microsoft is doing all the things Netflix did. Spend money and create content to the point you have so many subscribers you become too big to fail. I think its only a matter of time until Sony does everything Gamepass is doing 1:1 with PSNow. Nintendo will follow suit too. Covid will accelerate the death of physical media. The future is subscriptions backed by digital purchases.

I don't see subscriptions becoming the "future" instead of a "profitable alternative".

Publishers are too greedy to not want a piece of the pie and there's just too many games for streaming services to hold.
Physical is dead in the water tho. Maybe Nintendo stuff will continue but who knows.

EA games are available through subs, Microsoft games are, Ubi games are. Steam will support sub services.
The Industry is trying to make subscription services the future. Problem is (for better and worse): there are too many of them. Will be interesting to see what sticks, but so far Game Pass seems to be leading?

Why is Activision still on PC again? CoD has exclusive deals with Sony, they don't release Crash and Spyro in time and...well, not counting Sekiro it's basically their entire output. Is Bobby Kotick stuck in the 00s?
Because people have smartphones, duh!

Seriously, it may be my boomer talking, but I sincerely thing subscriptions will change everything the same way VR changed everything.
So shit will stay the same except for a bunch of early believers and company execs
As an Oculus Quest owner who is also subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate I take great offense to this! 😆

Don't worry, I'll take the first steps into this brave new world and let y'all know how it works out.

Definitely. Physical is about to become a niche release type of thing instead of the norm.

That said the last time I bought a physical disc outside of "I need something to play on this brand new console" was about 10 years ago so I'm gucci on that front :steam_pigblanket:

And has it completely destroyed traditional gaming? There were people predicting just that when Oculus or whatever it was that restarted the fad launched.
I have no idea who have said VR would destroy traditional gaming.

I personally view VR as a nice supplement to traditional gaming. I think every game that has a VR mode get's way better when playing in VR and the games that are built for VR from the ground up is way better than traditional gaming.

Like, whenever I will be getting SW Squadrons there's no way in hell I will be playing the game in flat-screen. VR will, unless the devs fuck it up, be a far superior way to play it in.

Is there a way to change from imperial to metric in Burnout Paradise? My game is in imperial for some reason but I’ve seen gameplay where it’s in metric. Can’t judge distances :')

Capcom has revealed that sales via Valve's Steam have surged in the fiscal year ending March 2020.

Its sales came in at 12.888 billion yen, representing 15.6% of total sales. In the previous fiscal year (ending March 2019), it was less than 10%.

This is higher than the 8.583 billion yen in sales via Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).

According to the company's earnings report, its mainstay title "Monster Hunter World: Iceborn" was a big hit. Sales of "Devil May Cry 5", "Resident Evil 2", and "Monster Hunter: World" also increased.
