It is a weird price: 16.79 €, which becomes 15.11 € with a 10% discount.

Price mistake for us, Europeans?

well that's one way to kill VR, i suppose ...
wow wtf. you currently need an fb account to do any social posting from the headset but i don't bother since i play nothing online and don't keep a friends list.

funny thing is they say developers won't have to use fb and the current developer registration method is just signing up as one on their site so i wonder if i am okay to not have a facebook? i only signed up as a dev to unlock sideloading.

i currently use it mostly for wireless pc vr through a sideloaded app so it seems like i'd still be okay to do that but it would be pretty frustrating if i lost access to the few headset apps i have bought via the oculus store in 3 years.

the article says you'd lose access to "some games and apps" without an fb account but the link system isn't an app, just a function of the headset. so using it for pcvr should still be ok. their cutoff point is 2023 so anything could change between now and then.

my thoughts when reading on this and considering it more are a few things.

1. dev accounts being exempt and also so easy to create makes me think this is specifically targeting the true casual vr user
2. they are totally gonna start charging for dev accounts soon
3. my next headset won't be oculus but also probably wont be purchased for a while cause i can't go back to wired vr

very frustrating all around, especially as someone that has been pretty excited for vr and getting my friends into it too.

Raji is probably EGSxclusive. Sucks, but from what I've read, it's understandable. The devs almost went bankrupt and they were literally looking for other jobs while develping the game.

from their discord it seems like Nintendo helped them a lot in some way and the other version PS4/Xo/Steam still aim for Q3 2020

Decent indies in here, but I just want everreach and vambrace @_@
Same 😅

Guess I'll wait until they trickle down into a BTA tier.
There's also a Zero Escape sale

AI: The Somnium files is 21,59€ if you have the Zero Escape games already.

I wonder what John Carmack thinks of that :).

Also if there are two words I can't bear to hear anymore, they are game and pass. People have been shoving it in my face over and over, completely ignoring the issues with both its method of distribution, business model and the fact it doesn't fix anything when it comes to non-gamepass pricing mistakes.

Which could be intentional, which makes the whole astroturfing nagging about gamepass even more grating.

Cheaper than I expected:
Cellar Door have already stated they plan to raise the Price of Rogue Legacy 2 as the Early Access goes on, and then again at release. So get it now before it ends up at $25-$30, I would guess.

it's very hard to pitch game pass without sounding like a shill 😆 so i just tell my friends who are new to pc to look at the game list and decide if they are interested. i think it's an easy transition for console players cause they are used to paying a monthly/yearly fee to get online and a couple games a year so this seems like a bargain. my friends who have been pc players for years are far more wary of the whole concept especially considering it's coming from ms.

as someone who has an xbox and a pc it's kind of a no brainer for me but i think that's a pretty limited demographic for them, or maybe not since gp ultimate exists.

Hmmm. That’s a really nice price for Rogue Legacy 2. I think I’ll be getting my rogue like fix from Spelunky 2 though.

I have no issue with it in itself if people are happy with it. But when the conversation goes :

"The price is unfair and wrong!"
"Use gamepass!"
"That's a subscription, it doesn't hel-"
"But gamepass is tremendous value for over two hundred games!"
"Yes, but the price on Ste-"
"Please visit xbox.com and sign up for just one dollar for the first month!"
"..."

I kind of feel deeply compelled not to ever get near it or these fellow customers.

oh yeah that's different and just annoying. gamepass is a whole different animal and even though they give you a discount on buying games it's still not even close to the same as a steam integrated title.

i use gamepass as a test service and way to try things i've never gotten into before. if its a longer investment game and i like it, i'll usually shell out for it. if i don't, no harm no foul. a good example is crusader kings or flight sim. there is a 0% chance i try either of those for the asking price but if they are included in a subscription i already pay for i'll try it out and see what i think. it's led to me playing games i never would have considered before and really liking some of them too.

also i so rarely play anything day one anymore that a lot of the games on the service are new to me even though they are sometimes years old:p

The game is endless, will be played for a long time, will leave game pass after 1 year unless Paradox extends the cotnract so you'll lose your save and playtime won' carry over and you also have to buy all the DLC on game pass so you have to double dip on them on Steam.
Ahh I see, that’s a shame

What if I'm too much of a coward?
The game leans more on horror but it still has the dumb funny thing here and there. i’m a scaredy cat as well and I only recall one scene of the game that I was genuinely afraid lol

finding out how/if ms store causes any issues with the game is usually including in my game pass testing process lol. perhaps subbing just for the one game would be a bad call but i'd say subbing for any single game is a bad call cause nothing there is permanent other than first party. gp is best used as a testing/netflix of games situation rather than a replacement game library. if something sticks with you, then buy it on steam/ms/console

Also Rogue Legacy price got updated

I don't own RL1. I should have seen the loyalty discount coming and should have bought it for 2.87€ during summer sales.

I am not optimizing my purchases these days:
  1. I did not buy Meterofall during EA, and I ended up buying it full price after the release of 1.0
  2. I bought RL2 during EA but without the loyalty discount.

In a weird way I'm tempted to get Rogue Legacy 2 because it's cheaper now than it will be once it's done.

And I didn't even like Rogue Legacy, despite giving it multiple shots.

Raji is probably EGSxclusive. Sucks, but from what I've read, it's understandable. The devs almost went bankrupt and they were literally looking for other jobs while develping the game.

Sure sounds like it. The article has many anecdotes of Epic helping them, and then there's the last part of the story:

Will Raji: An Ancient Epic be exclusive to the Epic Games Store?

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the team finds itself relying on apps like Slack and Discord to take the game across the final stretch while working from home. The duo are mum on a concrete release date though it should ship this year, stating it would “be announced by our publisher with their marketing plans”.

Considering the Unreal Dev Grant and Epic’s introduction to its publisher, we wondered if Raji: An Ancient Epic would have any sort of exclusivity to the Epic Games Store or any other platform for that matter. We were left with this:

“This is also something we cannot disclose that you will come to know pretty soon,” says Ghosh.

“We’re saying that with a big smile,” teases Maude. “So that should give you a good idea.”

Regardless of which storefront it lands on for PC, Raji: An Ancient Epic is shaping up to be an interesting title for the Indian games industry that’s obsessed with metrics and conflating video games with fantasy sports and gambling. It’s heartening to see game developers actually go ahead and make games no matter how stacked the odds are against them.
Edit:
Although I now realised this article is from June, so this might in fact refer to the Switch timed exclusivity. It was released there today. Raji: An Ancient Epic Surprise-Launched As Timed-Switch Exclusive
