@lashman how long did the first two episodes take ya? I'm considering playing this next with my partner, as she loved LiS
First two eps are roughly three hours each, maybe a bit longer or shorter depending on how much of a completionist you are
steam tells me 12h for the first 2 episodes, so 6h per episode, i guess :p

but i'm a "wall licker" in DONTNOD games ... i explore absolutely everything i can in them ... so i imagine most of that 6h is me doing exactly that :p

If it's on Switch as well then there's no timed exclusivity and it's KT, so PC seems pretty likely. It's not like there'd be a physical PC release that the retailer could list, it's going to be Steam only.
It's Koei Tecmo, it will be everything but PC will be digital only so yeah, wait and see. :cat-heart-blob:
Yeah, I thought so as well. Going to play the hell out of them. :cat-heart-blob:

Later today:

Apparently, the remaster is crap.
I would imagine if you only played this on console, it would be a barebones but ok upgrade as I believe it was on 360/PS3 so going from 720p to 4k and 60fps is fine. If you played it on PC it is terrible especially considering you have to pay for it.

A tiny graphical improvement at the cost of huge computing power.
That happens more often than it should. DMC4 and DMC4:SE had the same problem. Games looked pretty much identical, but while the former ran extremely well even on toasters, the latter had medicore performance even on high end hardware. Hell, you could even mod out the additional effects SE brought (I think it was bloom and something else) and it barely had any effect on framerate. I have no idea how they manage to worsen performance so much while seemingly barely touching the game. Maybe Durante has some knowledge on it?

Pardon my ignorance but what console is this? I thought the series X was their newest box... Where does this fall in the scale of current gen/next gen and horsepower?
In terms of raw power: XBox Series X > PlayStation 5 >> Xbox Series S.

The Series S price is wild, if they couple it with 1yr of Game Pass there no reason for a casual to even consider any other option.

I think MS is smart about next-gen.

PC and Series X for enthusiasts - high end
Series S for the more casual people - middle end and low end
XCloud for people who don't really care about games enough to buy a console - low end

The Series S with game pass can be a banger for MS if done right. They are going for all the console audiences + the PC audience (game pass and Steam).

I wish liberty faction from Palmyra would stop revolting all the time. The worst thing is whenever they rise up, all the cheap mercs are already contracted and I can only afford one ~1k contract which usually runs out before I can decimate the uprising completely. I was also extremely close to creating an Orthodox Holy Order, but my ruler died about a month too soon and now I need to rack up piety again.
Sometimes the random events are bonkers. I basically ragequit yesterday after:
  • my ruler died
  • new ruler was disliked and had 280% military strength revolt against him in the first year
  • I bought a mercenary force which brought me to 240%
  • I fought strategically for three years and whittled them down one by one
  • I was 80% war score
  • A FUCKING DUEL EVENT PLOPS UP!
basically the choices were:
+ fight for your title!
- 0% chance you win the duel
- 100% chance you lose the duel, you get the wounded trait, you lose your title
+ give up
- you lose your title

WHAT THE FUCK!
I killed the ck3 task in the task manager so hard and cheated my ironman game. Last save was 1 minute before but the event didn't pop up anymore.

Another thing that I don't like generally and that I just found out recently: Primogeniture (heir inherits all) is locked until late game. Even the lesser (liked) one-heir laws like seniority or election are also locked until late game. This seriously dampens my enjoyment of the game.

I'm in the same boat. I get that CK is supposed to be more about characters and such, but I prefer when it's mostly about MY character and improving my dynasty (through achievements of my current ruler), not juggling 10000 titles spread across all my children. At first I thought I just had to increase crown authority (which made sense), but then it turned out you need to be in Late Medieval era and also invent each of the laws. Yeah, miss me with that. The plus is that it's probably very easily fixable with mods.

AAAA just makes me think of two Anti-Aircraft gun placements... wait, wouldn't Anti-Anti-Anti-Aircraft mean they were used to take out Anti-Aircraft guns?
AAAA is a silly term but it amuses me thinking about when the first AAAAA game comes out and makes AAAA look like rookie numbers.

The Xbox One S looks like one of my old Sony Pocket Am/FM Radios, it's fine but does look like a Bluetooth speaker.
I like the PS5 shape, and the next Series X is okay too it's just a rectangular box so yeah, it's inoffensive.

By the way, do we know if the new Observer remaster will be worth it on PC ? Is it looking like a Sleeping Dogs DE ?
People that already have the game have until September 16th to get the new version for 5 bucks.

edit -
Or I guess I could have read the description beforehand.

Veteran Observers can dive deeper into this dystopian reality thanks to three brand-new side cases to solve. “Errant Signal”, “Her Fearful Symmetry” and “It Runs in the Family” add another layer of depth to the game’s story while exploring thought-provoking themes of a future that soon might become our present.

On top of that, System Redux offers expanded gameplay, which includes new game mechanics, new secrets to find, redesigned stealth, additional neural interrogations, and quality-of-life improvements made with the help of the Observer community.

Newcomers get the chance to experience one of the most thrilling cyberpunk stories in all its next-gen glory: boasting 4K resolution, upgraded textures, new animations, models and effects, and transformed with jaw-dropping Ray-Tracing and HDR lighting.
That looks like 5 bucks worth.

I thought the Wii game was pretty fun and this looks similar enough with nice cel shading on top so, judge me, I'm glad it's coming to PC :p

Nice. I expect PQube to do it in the west.

The original two PS2 Onechanbara games were so so bad and extremely low budget so it'll be interesting playing this remake.
Sal Romano said:
It's not PQube.

Check back a little later today.

Also, NiOh 2, Koei :disapproval-blob:
I mean, the first one will happen and the second one is all but confirmed by Koei (IGN even mentioned PC coming this november for NIOH 2 so yeah)

Pretty sure that was Gamespot and not IGN.
My bad, fun fact is that I wrote gamespot but rethought and put IGN.

Well that info came from thin air from the author, not based on anything.
And after Nioh 1 and KT warning about potential delays in the pipeline for some ports you don't believe this, right? :evilblob:

Im not saying Nioh 2 won't release in november, it probably will, just that the info in that article isn't official, pretty much just the authors gut feeling.

Once again, based in the same premise that it's the same deal as Nioh 1 which lines-up with that the author said and pretty much why I said "all but official" cause' OFC it's not official yet

Idk how it’d take much longer than four hours even if you’re going through every area with a fine-toothed comb, but to each their own
