Im really keen to get Crusader Kings 3 but just noticed that i have CK2 in my library (seems like its free to play). Is it worth playing 2 or has 3 improved things a lot?

I knew the Xbox design reminded me of something I've seen before. I think they look fine though.

CK3

I must say that it can get very confusing with equal inheritance law and additional 3 spouses.
You can have a spouse that has another title, be the ruler of that title and your spouse can also have 3 other spouses which in turn can be rulers of their own title.
Their must be wizards working to determine which baby belongs to which parents and who inherits what titles.
I could even marry my own son (from one of my co-wifes) to one of my other wifes!

tried a little CK3 this weekend since it was on gamepass and even with the tutorial

Also me. I skipped the tutorial, thought "fuck it lets just go" and then I spent my time on easy mode just faffing about. started a war with my aunt, later reconciled and fought wars together; later spent a lifetime just attending feasts and dying of obesity. also saw england just vanish from the map, getting replaced by denmark ;)
its a lot of fun regardless :D

out of keys already
whenever that happens, i say "obviously" out loud, in the voice Jim Sterling used to open a video once (I looked it up, it was this one: )

Anyone know what this is referring to?

Seems to be this. Dude made a game called Waking, it bombed and got a 44 on metacritic and one of the devs got pissy and made this. Definitely NSFW

There's also a blog post on the development of Waking thats pretty depressing to read.

had to look it up but I recall Waking, intrigued by the premise and art direction but didn't bother because it's a Soulslike/roguelite, neither of which interest me much. anyway, thanks for the context, I'll check the game later

I'm late to the discussion, but Oneechanbara Origin is probably worth playing just because of the merit of its character design alone since Enami's art is godly.

Although I probably love her designs for Trails from Zero the most.

This song summarizes what today felt like in my town Ya.... It was sort of scary in a way.

Also if I had any authority or something like that I would pass a law to ban any form of explosives at gender reveal parties for those unaware one of the current fires in California was caused because of a gender reveal thing and it caused a lot of damage and the same thing happened last year as well. I fear that next year the same thing will end up happening. If people want to do this they may as well pay to have the fire department on standby and to also rent a helicopter (that would likely be a lot cheaper then what they will have to pay for damages).

I'm not sure if the fire was that strong that the ash made its way to my town but ya the sun was a bright red orange (blood sun) and there was ash (white dust) on people's cars.

I don't fault the guy. Actually, its the people who don't understand self hatred mixed with rage and are judging him that deserve the 'fuck you' Like that person in the fucking tweet. You've never felt what it was like to fail like that at a dream huh? Go fuck yourself and I hope YOUR career fails.

I felt this one down to my core.

NGL, I would do much of the same thing. MIght not highlight a single reviewer but then maybe I do.

What pissed me off even more is how fucking 'wounded' the game reviewer from IGN is acting on twitter. Reminds me of all the times a bully got sympathy from their larger circle of friends after I told them off in my life. Fuck him too, drink moar whiskey.

I couldn't disagree more strongly Trisolarian.

I can totally understand the urge to lash out at a person who you think has wronged you, but that action doesn't usually lead to good outcomes for you or the other person. Thinking about doing it and wishing bad things on a person are wholly separate from actually doing them and then posting the results online as happened here. That shit shouldn't be tolerated and this person clearly needs help. There's no reason to do things like this online or IRL.

Even if you don't care about the results for the other person, then think about what it would do for the person lashing out. These sorts of actions reflect badly ON THE PERSON DOING THEM TOO. Any sane business person sees this outburst and will stay FAR FAR away from this person in the future. So now they have effectively blackballed themselves from any job in this industry. Acquaintances all of a sudden revert to strangers and don't want to be associated with either person. Further isolating them and keeping them in their bubble of sadness and pity. These sorts of actions DO NOT WORK. Don't go down that road. Its bad news all the way down for everyone.

We can all fantasize about doing horrible things to an enemy, but actually doing them ends up being bad for you too. Perhaps worse. Karma is real, never doubt it. I hope this dude gets some help and figures out his life, I pity him.

I'd love a "time of purchase/activation" sorting option in the library so I can stop burying games I purchased recently and forget about them.
Super delayed but, if you sort by "Recent" it includes unplayed games too based on the time they were added to your library (keys or purchased on Steam). I can't find a way to filter out based on time played (because then you could filter out games with like > 5 minutes play time) but it's the closest Steam has to this at the moment I believe.

Played (and finished) Sheepo over the long weekend, it's a great little platformervania that's fairly charming. It looks ready made for speed runners but I think it's worth checking out if you just like platforming-heavy metroidvanias (there's no combat, boss "battles" are mostly just platforming challenges).

Also finished first campaign runthrough in Chronicon, which is probably tied for my favorite ARPG to play now. I'll have to keep exploring the endgame and messing with builds and maybe other classes but it's great. If they can ever add online coop via Steam services it'll be a slam dunk, but local / remote play together is still a good alternative.

I've tried to start Plebby Quest since it was on sale but I'm having a tough time getting through the tutorial. I appreciate they were trying to tell a story during it but it is making it hard for me to follow and I'm never sure what's a specific mechanical term vs. story fluff.

Haven't been able to play VR since I moved over a month ago - don't have room in the room my PC is in, and my "media" PC hiding in the living room with the TV can't actually run it. Problem with moving is everything looks like potential when you see the empty space, then you try and move in and nothing fits right :I I'm glad to have a stable home but still, it's been a lot more of a stressful mess than I expected having a house. When the most realistic solution to missing something I could do in my old 500 sqft apartment is "buy a better backup PC" it really makes me question the worth of the place :p

I have just skimmed at the screenshots of both games, and the NSFW one looks way more original than the previous one. I don't get why one would spend much time on developping a generic game if they have the talent to do the NSFW game out of a fit or rage. Dude, use your talent to do something SFW and you will be able to sell it, I am sure.

Yo! Just realised that Apple Arcade is a thing and I can get one free month! Bunch of games there I want to play, so after my month with game pass is up I probably will go there.

Anyone play Beyond a Steel Sky? Or Ocean Horn 2?
I played Beyond a Steel Sky, definitely worth a play through if you enjoy adventure games and want to see what happened after Beneath a steel sky. Was buggy when I played, but I am sure it has been patched by now.

The only games I’ve played on Apple Arcade are Grindstone and Card of Darkness and both are great (on iPhone). I wish they would let me buy them because I don’t want to pay 5 euros a month for 2 games :disapproval-blob:

At least Grindstone is hitting Switch. Maybe they'll consider other platforms once that's done.

Sounds like society at large. Somehow most people's reaction is not to side with the person defending itself and establishing boundaries, with the victim but with the bully. I have no idea why people do that, and it's supremely hurtful, especially younger when you don't have your own two feet firmly on the ground and know what's what.

People always think from the perspective of what would "look good" and always, absolutely always ignore the victim's side. What it felt like, what it has cost them and that maybe if they hadn't been stepped on, they would have needed to trip the asshole by standing up. How dare someone do that, right?

I'm rambling but people are really, really bad at dealing with victims. Hell, even giving them the space to exist and be listened to instead of blaming them. Always judging based on appearances and how someone can carry themselves, ignoring that suffocating distress, anger and terror are some of the things it makes you experience and speaking up at all is a heroic ordeal, let alone in the composed and calm manner people seem to expect of victims.

Grumpy morning. Nice Genshin shots though!
