Don't mind me
Posting quality writing from a quality Final Fantasy game with quality voice acting (granted they had to speed up so as to match the JP dub limitation but still, quality~)

This is hilarious. Just saw the DF video of the game running on Xbox One, that is some rough shit. Not only is the frame-rate permanently in the low 20's with drops to the teens, it can freeze for over a minute when driving around. When you ship a game in this state you just don't give a fuck anymore.

Going from this to XIII sure was a trip.

Not only witcher 3 had poor performance and bugs, visuals they advertised were almost cg quality and the final product was some ps3 nathan drake.jpg.

Also update routine was total shit with 3 gb patches, or maybe it was witcher 2. It took years before w3 actually started resembling a finished game. People just have amnesia or something.

Steams privacy settings seems to be kinda fucked. Details such as if you own it and if it's in your wishlist is shown on the storepages. Also if you buy something, it is shown on the activity page.

Cyberpunk definitely is worse than The Witcher 3 at launch.

I think the problem is that game only simulates what's in view of camera, so when camera moves it causes massive drops.
(or maybe they just do something funny with mouse)
I don't have any drops at all with mouselook, never mind massive ones. The chart is flat. I actually have more inconsistent frametimes in most other open world games.

Finished Cyberpunk and also went back to check out a few different endings (most are naff imo, just there to show you have choices, and some drag on too long, we'd get the point with less of that tbh, I have a few more different choices to make but dread going back, it took me like half a day just to try different choices from my last save already). Maybe they do this to somewhat hide that you basically decide most of it at the end and much like push a button for this or that almost, but it's pretty transparent regardless. I think it's a 7/10 at best game, but still I finished it so I guess it's worth your time but I'd wait for a discount.

I alternated between controller and mkb but mostly stuck with mkb though it makes driving so much worse, driving isn't the core of the gameplay even if there's quite a bit at times (though I guess you can always fast travel with the transit system if you don't care about things like the racing gigs). It took me 40 hours before trying the different choices though I also left it running and took calls/did other stuff so it was probably closer to 35. I ignored almost all gigs unless they popped nearby and I felt like checking out some loot and just did the main story and some of the big side stuff (romanced Panam btw). Not deliberately or anything mind you, just what I felt like doing organically as I played through and in the end saw that I barely did any of the gigs.

My dude was level 23 with most of his implant slots empty and evenly upgraded skills by the end but still the game was easy (on normal), I can't imagine being even more powerful even if there's level scaling going on so that it throws more of the advanced dudes at you with all that super speed and auto dodge stuff some did by the end of it (the quick hacking skills wrecked them anyway). I was basically wallhacking all over the place, getting headshots through walls while they took cover so I was often killing higher level guys that dropped loot I couldn't use for 10-15 more levels so I just dismantled it all, mostly at the side stuff, perhaps the main story scales more or is just lower level to begin with, I dunno without testing that aspect further and for now I don't really care to go back.

I think it would have been way better as a finely tuned 15 hour per playthrough Deus Ex alike than this open world RPG/GTA stuff (the original Deus Ex that is, which just took you to areas of interest the story demanded and had them all meticulously designed to accomodate its gameplay and story goals rather than have a whole city where most stuff are naff and repetitive and you might as well be playing it like Borderlands just going through the motions of shoot and loot and only the big story areas are well designed in a similar way). More focused and balanced in gameplay and story. Maybe even like Syndicate (the FPS) instead of an RPG at all. The story in the end is V and Johnny's story with Mass Effect-esque branching paths and other minor variations, not a fully open create your unique character/live your cyberpunk life thing (which Bethesda does better most of the time, even while having a main story as much as I dislike those broken games of theirs, they can hook you). The bosses weren't anything to write home about but they showed up at the better designed levels and advanced the story and such so they were cool moments overall. Though often enough bugs ruined the impact of cut scenes with my character showing up bald instead of normal or general equipment style weirdness where it tried to force some stuff but failed. Anyway, it's not a trainwreck on PC but I'm disappointed still.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon still the GOTY.

Edit: I wanted to post in the rate the game you finished thread and expand on what I wrote here so I was editing it as a base but accidentally clicked save, lol.

Quoting myself for the new page.
I wish I could help you but I'm too old and my latest brilliant euro-jank recommendation would be probably a bad suggestion for today's standards, "Gothic II". Maybe Risen could fit better in your description but I'm not sure to be honest.

Slightly related to this image, I really wish Opencritic differentiated between platforms. Until then, it will be useless to me. Even scrolling through the reviews at a glance, it does not mention the platform off to the side.

I can easily see the 14 PC reviews on Metacritic for Arkham Knight, meanwhile Opencritic has all 107 reviews together and there isn't even a filter to select by platform. Games can wildly have different performance/UI/control/etc. issues from platform to platform, and why Opencritic shoves them all together, I really do not understand.

It's weirdly inconsistent like this sometimes. Hiding your overall play time also disables achievement unlocks from showing up in the (new) activity feed, I read? It'd be great to have more granular privacy settings. And to disable achievement unlock timestamps. That feature feels a little invasive somehow :notlikethisblob:

Not sure if you played with the Steam Controller, but I was stuck in a weird situation where initially the game was fine with simultaneous mouse+gamepad input on Steam Controller, but then without any updates or changes I was aware of, doing this on the steam controller was suddenly blocked. Thankfully some smart person found the appropriate hex-edit needed to fix it.
Also a nice hex-edit for AMD CPU users seems to have got me enough performance to hit 60fps (bar one central city area).
With all this, mouselook has been great. No drops due to mouselook here either, at least none I can tell

Intersting to know. Since it's a first person perspective game I didn't even try playing with anything other than KB/M FWIW.

The sale has not started yet, this time the sale starts on December 22, 2020.
The set contains 10 cards with a "Steam Awards" theme.
Mysterious Trading Cards: The Steam Awards - 2020

Currently the only way to get a mysterious Tradingcard is by crafting a badge. Instead of the regular coupon you'll get a Mysterious Tradingcard with a chance of it being a Foil one.
If you use cards to craft a badge that are restricted from being traded or sold (e.g. because you bought them recently) it will apply the restriction to the Mysterious Tradingcards with the same timeframe as well.

Hmmm.

...wait, does this mean that DLSS is an RTX Voice situation where it's been possible all along to run it on lower-end Nvidia GPUs but they limited it to the RTX line for what are seemingly marketing reasons? I have a GTX 1660ti, would love to get that DLSS performance boost if it's possible

Jujutsu Kaisen ending theme (anime currently running)

It's a good watch too! But the ending theme is absolutely not representative of its actual content, lol.

Ray tracing has been available for ages long before rtx cards, I'm sure integer scaling can be done without tensor cores too. But shit ain't gonna sell itself.

In this case dev could name any random upscaling dlss.

I'd even be interested if it was anime because it got style
What else could it be

Would have done exactly the same but something always irritates me not having granular speed control of vehicles in a game like this, and I don't like switching input devices all the time, so decided to go with the Steam Controller. If you need it, the hex-edit just needs to be applied to the game .exe
Find: 8B 44 24 54 85 C0 75 26
Replace: 36 8B 07 90 85 C0 75 26
Though it seems CDPR are now aware of the issue, so they'll probably fix it.

The AMD fix was related to SMT and also is applied to the .exe

this trailer makes me wow, so hyper, lets see if they fixed halo 2:a co op campaing!
So I played through Halo 2A Co-op campaign recently and it had only 1 spot that caused us some issues. There was a loading bug or cutscene bug (hard to know which) in 1 mission where if we let the cutscene (which looked gorgeous) play out the mission would glitch out and not load for one or the other of us. We couldn't even let the cutscene start in co-op. We both HAMMERED the skip button as hard as possible and then the mission was able to play normally. That was really it. You could play the level in single player no problem, so it was co-op related somehow.

There were a few issues we had with progression not unlocking on both players' accounts as well, but I believe the latest patch or another recent one fixed that. I thought I saw it listed in there.

It really is a fantastic collection. The games are the games and if you have fond memories of Halo from your past this is a great way to do it. I might recommend people be cautious with the 120Hz stuff as I know some of the games have weird issues above 60Hz (bullets moving at 60FPS, but everything else at 120, etc). I think Halo 4 and Reach don't have those issues tho, so go wild there. It's amazing value for the money though. 6 games that used to be $60 each for $40.

Took me 40 hours though I also left it running and took calls/did other stuff.
Wut. Did you focus on the main quest at the exclusion of everything else or something? Because I have 30+ hours in the game and there's no way in hell I'm anywhere close to finishing it. Shit, I barely touched the three main questlines.
