I’m save scumming so much in Hitman I must hurt Jake Solomon‘s soul an ocean away.
Good :evilblob:

Not my fault every motherfucker in this fashion show likes to wander around while I’m on the clock playing ‘Where’s the Cheikh‘.
I always save scum excessively in games like that :p

but it can be fun to do a run where you just let the chaos cascade and work around your mistakes, especially when youre getting to know the level.

for some dumb reason IOI has decided to put the Stadia servers under maintenance until Hitman 3 comes out, which means I can play it there but wont get progress, and Im still uncertain if my Steam progress will count, so I'll just play more Cyberpunk instead.

Yeah, I imagine once you have a hang on the levels, the game changes for the better. That being said I joked but this level of save scumming is annoying to my play experience. The loading page and me, best buds. But hey, like I said, lots of people walking in halls when all you want is a cool disguise. Guard, uninvited guest, Agent 47 with a rage face. That’s me.
I also did a no disguise run on the Cuba tuto, and it was surprisingly fun. But that’s Cuba, I have no earthly idea how you can do that in the first real level.

Aaah finished Wolfenstein Youngblood and bloody loved it, despite some changes to the formula that I didn't like at first. Can't wait for Wolfenstein 3!
did they change the formula in later patches or something? it felt really awful to me, i wrote my only negative steam review for that game -- Steam Community :: *** :: Review for Wolfenstein: Youngblood

no disguise runs are probably easier if you dont do silent assassin at the same time, but if you do both, it becomes quite hard indeed! but its possible in every level, you just really gotta know the level well. thats why i can only recommend to play through your mistakes a couple of times before you attempt the Silent Assassin/Suit Only run

Also, do those who are uninitiated, check out Auzziegamers Hitman videos. He usually does Silent Assassin run (not always + Suit only, but sometimes)

Don't think they have changed anything and I agree with all you are saying but I don't mind many of those things. It's a different game than usual Wolfenstein and plays different, it took me awhile to find the flow, for example in Wolfenstein I like to be precise with my shots, so I prefer scopes and such but here I tried that first but its useless, here the best part is to be able to fire as fast as possible, the joy comes from being able to take down bullet sponges super fast, so I just run around like crazy, just double jump a lot and just rain bullets down on everyone.

Ah thats a shame. I was hoping they changed stuff around. Re-reading my review brought back memories of how much I disliked Youngblood and how much of a letdown it was after The New Order and The Old Blood (and The New Collossus, even tho that was was already a step down). BUUUUT its great you enjoyed it! seriously, happy when people like their games.

I hope that some day, at some level, publishers will realize that games don't all have to be action/adventure/fps. Space sims are more than a niche and always have been.

I suspect that the real concern is that the technology to make one doesn't already exist and requires a lot of ramp-up cost and time, hence they neglect the genre and pretend there's no demand there.

Their loss. Good on Rockfish.

Hitman scoring question -
If I understood the little mess right, score and mastery aren’t linked ? I gain mastery xp by doing challenges and the score is just for leaderboards and immersion ?
I mean, I can murder 30 people in a mission and this won’t change my unlocks or anything except for the final score ?

Not that I want to play it that way but maybe knowing that I will reload a little less :cold-sweat:

Challenges are repeatable I suppose ?

Going through the trouble of installing and modding FFXIII-2 was worth it in the end because I still like the game a lot so revisiting it has been worth it. I'm glad we can restore the dlc costumes that were taken down, they're really cool.

About 6 hours into Prey and enjoying it a lot. Really scratches that Bioshock itch. Great game.

Correct. Score is just how good of an assassin you were. Best scores end up being speedruns because after you get silent assassin, the only way to increase your score is to do the same, just faster.
You can do challenges again, but I'm not sure you get mastery from repeats.
A good way to increase your location mastery and not spend too much time on repeating tasks is to stack different types of kills on the same run with some save scumming. Like, if you know you can get the target to puke at a toilet and you also have a gun and fiber wire, save before you drown them, do that, reload, headshot them, reload, and then garrotte them.

With all this talk lately I was interested in actually playing the Hitman 2 game that I somehow have in my library, but now I'm kind of reconsidering. :grimacing-face:

I don't know that this was Facebook and that you were trying to Poke some one.

Also I do remember you mentioning the Pocket Monsters thing, but I can't remember if you said it would be the Moba game or of it would be a new thing like a MMO game that people on N/S,PC, and smartphone can play on.

Session is now being published by Nacon.
Just how bad is Nacon? Are they worse than EA type of stuff?

I have written a small app
Neat little tool, thanks for sharing! A little suggestion: It would be nice if clicking on the image takes you to its Steam page.

I tried running the app on the two Atelier Ryzas.

I find it curious that it didn't bring up other Atelier titles, except perhaps Shallie, as above. Also I chuckled a bit because it brought up the CLP-published Cold Steel Kai instead of XSEED's.

If you go to steamchina.com, you get redirected to store.steamchina.com as well as a 403 error. A few days ago it redirected to the main Steam homepage. The Chinese launch might be imminent.

I finished Black earlier today. I give it a 6/10.

The ending makes it seem like there is going to be another video game but there was not.

Maybe I'm an idiot but the game movement was just so slow. There was no jumping or running in this game at all. The first half was boring but the second half was better.

The story didn't make a lot of sense.

The guns were okay. I both like and disliked the depth of field affect when ever you reloaded. But it was terrible when fighting enemies because you couldn't see them.

Even if I played it back in 2006 it likely would have been okay.

I'm told it's ong one of the best liking fps games on the OG Xbox and PS2. The PS2 had more issues running the game though.

Will I replay this game? I highly doubt it. The only reason that I can see myself for wanting to play it again is so that I can play the Xbox 360 version and see the difference between that version and the OG Xbox version.

Some of the visuals of the game do hold up and enemies falling off stuff is pretty cool (they will even hang off balconies before falling to their death).

I would have seen it as a 5/10 game but the second half did improve my experience with the game.

Fun for the whole family !
That being said I like poison, must be my French ancestry, call me Mr Poison.

I was telling my mother about my run, just for the sake of it.
’I poisoned the lady, waited for her to go to the toilets and drowned her. And the man, what did I... oh, I guess I poisoned his drink, waited for him to go to the toilets and it was garrotte time.’

If I remember correctly, a lot of the buzz was the destructible environments. It also had quite a good soundtrack I believe?

It's funny to think that it was the Burnout devs who made that game. You don't really see that kind of genre shift today.

I mean you have respawn who did Titanfall and Apex and all of a sudden they release Jedi Fallen Order.

I looked up the MC scores for the game (PS2 and Xbox). And it got a 79/77. Which is not "great" but also not bad. So it's a little above average.

I also looked at the Xbox Live store reviews and it has a 4.something.

I feel like some of that is nostalgia at play.

Some of what the reviews say I do agree with and other parts, I very strongly disagree with.

Some people seem to like the "story", which is by far the worst part of the game.

Did consoles really not have any FPS games? I guess people just want "realism" in their games. If anything the realism was the most annoying part and if so why was there even health backs that you can carry and stuff? Why not have it like Far Cry 3 and such where you have to take the time to heal yourself and it's not an auto thing.

Looking at the reviews some more I think that a decent amount of them are for the PS2 version in which case I guess that the PS2 just really didn't have any fps games.

Some of the parts that I do agree on in the destructive stuff. I guess that back then that was seen as impressive. And in a way yes, some of the parts that I did think we're cool was when bullets would be flying and stuff is coming apart, when glass is getting shot at and then you see it falling apart and the sound it makes when it "hits the ground" (which just seems to be a delayed audio thing because it sounds nice at times but bad the rest of the time).

Some users reviews have said that pretty much everything is destructible, which you really don't notice. It's mostly in the last part of the game where you notice this stuff.

One game that would have really cool destructible stuff would be Battlefield Bad Company 2 that would release 3 years later.

I just don't see the appeal of the game.

The music was nice at parts since it did sound like something out of a movie (which also felt out of place for the setting of this game).

It felt like they were playing James Bond type stuff even though you are an American Black Ops. Which is just strange.
-----------

Since Journey to the Savage Planet will not be releasing on Steam (I highly doubt that it will given how the dev is now owed by Facebook)

I think that's the next game that I'm going to play on my XSX through GamePass.
