You should give XI a try. Its a top 3 JRPG of all time imo and easily the best of this past gen. Its a very long game tho that many don't fall in love with and appreciate until like 50-60hrs in.

I'd highlestly recommend giving it a shot. It's damn good.
Not that I used or know of. The default difficulty is kinda of easy tho so crank up some of the combat/battle settings if you want a challenge.
At this point I've tried 3 different highly recommended Dragon Quest games, and each of them lost me after 20 hours at most.
I can deal with glacial pacing if the story/setting payoff is good enough and/or the combat system is sufficiently interesting. Both of those are the case in e.g. Trails games -- which also suffer from terrible pacing -- so I can (grudgingly) deal with that in that case. But none of the DQ games I tried grabbed me story-wise, and their insistence on extremely traditional JRPG turn-based combat without much tactical choice doesn't do enough to entice me either.
As a potential Steam release? I think I disagree with that. IMHO it could well do better than anything else they have.

It's actually tough saying which would be the biggest. Bloodbourne will be massive no doubt just because of the legacy.
God of war as you said will sell well, also its a very good entry point and scored well (my personal fav)
GoT is new game and no previous games needed to get into it, so could sell well.
UC4 is a weird one for me, as it is an incredible game but very much a continuation. And 1-3 have aged in my eyes, but would still be the best to have all 4 in one bundle. (I can already see threads though saying they are overrated).

Counterpoint: Dark Souls 3 was platinum-tier on Steam in its release year, outperforming new major entries in the Call of Duty, Doom and Tomb Raider franchises.
Of course it's unclear how much of the Souls audience would transfer directly to BB. But I'm still rather confident it would match or outperform anything else Sony would decide to port.
Counter-counterpoint, DS3 had a lot of hype behind it but as a game disappointed a fair few fans. Sekiro also further created small waves in that it was a very focused game that wasn't for every Souls fan. Bloodborne at least is a known quantity compared to Elden Ring.
I guess we'll see because at the end of the day, it'll sell well and people who love these games will get to play them without them being sequestered on obsolete hardware. At least that's assuming From and the companies they have contracted to port the games have done due diligence and... I'm still annoyed that I had to use Cheat Engine to play Sekiro with proper camera controls on KB&M.
I guess we'll see, again it doesn't really matter anyway. They will all sell gangbusters.

Good on Innersloth for getting that EGS giveaway money, but goddamn people are raging with dissapointment everywhere.
DS2 certainly disappointed a fair few fans as well (it's an acquired taste).
If that didn't dampen the hype for DS3, why would the comparatively minor gripes with DS3 dampen the hype for Bloodborne PC ?

I think you're vastly underestimating how well DS3 did. The game shoots up to the top of global top sellers every single time it goes on sale, is still one of the most played games on Steam and reached 10 million sales last year lol

I tried playing Bloodborne on PSNow (that's a measure of how desperate I am for it), with a controller (very desperate), because there is no choice. Could only endure 5 minutes. The way the camera is handled, in particular, completely separate from movement, felt terribly wrong. I usually want to look where I'm going...
If you are used to a controller, I imagine going the other way can feel just as wrong. Glad CE provided a quick fix to make it endurable.
If you are antisocial, you can pretty much ignore it. Nobody actually dies. Juste use a drop to advance a quest and don't worry about anything while everybody endlessly coughs their lungs out.

DR still prevents you from completing quests and honestly feels like it punishes you for dying. It's in my opinion bad design and I had no qualm about removing it since I was using CE anyway.
I disagree. Again, this is a discussion about the relative success of these games compared to other Sony games. Judging by the first-weeks sales and on only PS4 for those exclusives, I think GoW can outperform it. GoW sold 3.1million copies on its first 3 days. BB took 5 months to sell 2 million copies. Those are the only solid facts I base my reasoning on. There's a lot of empirical too such as the exchange I had with Durante, but those are a matter of opinion informed by reasoning at best, and he's got a point as well.
Either way it's like arguing how wide the bath of money Sony will be soaking in will be. I have no issues being wrong, PC wins anyway.
Bloodborne will live or die based on the price. Ain't paying more than 2o bucks for a 6 year old game that IMO isn't even that good.
Honestly Uncharted 4 without Collection is not that good. Going through adventures with Nate and the crew means a lot coming into Uncharted 4, especially ending.

I need to try getting into TiTS... Apparently I have 7.5 hours on the save file I last played in 2018.
The writing and all that was good, but the combat didn't make any impact. In particular, it never really justified the whole isometric tactics bent it had going on. Maybe it does something with that later, I dunno.
One of Dragon Quest's big things is how it uses every element it has in some meaningful way. There are very few things that I can't see the purpose of, or would say could be removed to objectively improve the game, which is something I can't say about a lot of other RPGs like the few FF's I've played. It's one game that I can say with absolute confidence that it has never appealed to me. Story, characters, gameplay; all of it.
They are technically impressive, though. And I suppose a lot of the lessons learned in creating the mechanics for the third-person shooting in Uncharted carries over to The Last of Us.

Oh I don't disagree that's bad design. Sekiro is full of that IMO, including regressions from other Souls game (eg the way XP and sen are handled, much more punitive than the soulstain).
? Perhaps I am missing something because it's been so long since I had to consciously think about the buttons I press, but whether it be in Souls, or a 3rd person game like, say Tomb Raider (2013+)
1° I move the mouse to move the camera towards my destination
2° I press Z (or W on QWERTY) to move in that direction. The character is unaffected by camera movement until I direct it to move, and then it uses camera orientation as compass.
2'° If I move the camera while moving, the character follows the new "north" automatically.
3° Then there may be variation from game to game on whether the camera repositions itself behind you, if you move straight south with S. Souls do not, so you can look behind you.
Apart from 3° I don't see a difference.
I'll test the next time I boot in windows, in case I grossly misremember what my muscle memory actually does in those games. If so I apologise for the noise.
