I think its obvious that Nextlander is trying to be the "cozy streams" side of Giant Bomb that is incompatible with big growth targets and chasing huge views. Which is honestly the reason I want to watch Nextlander and Waypoint to a lesser extent over GB these days. Jeff G alone isn't interesting enough, and despite their plans for "cool new shows" with all these various creators, I don't really need that. The scrappy start-up crew of a few people is enough for me.

I certainly agree though that I would never want into games media for the exact reason you state. It isn't fun, its hell from my perspective.

Like anything else, you don't have to like the job to do it. Most people hate theirs so that's that.

I feel that the "no visible damage" mantra is damaging (*snicker) the appeal of racing sims, maybe even more from the enthusiast and hardcore racing fans angle.

Anyways been stuck playing Strive and HZD when I need a break from Strive. I've managed to get a few matches in when the lobby connections weren't shitting itself but it's pretty fun as a beginner to fighting games. I've ended up at around Floor 4-5 which feel right for my skill level and even played someone with 300 ping and it went great. It's a pretty amazing game. Amazing netcode, amazing soundtrack. Thinking of learning to play May now because of her character theme.
