The date for Battlefield 2042 in the GeForce leaks matches the release of the beta.
Either it is a huge coincidence and the full game was planned for release on September 22 at one point in the past.
Or:
- it is not the release date of the full game, it could be the start date of beta-tests in some cases,
- it is recent info. Indeed, a deleted tweet from July gave another piece of information.
The latest piece of information was from August 31 "when multiple insiders reported that the beta could begin on September 22". Since the GeForce leak happened on September 13, the info may have been added after the release date was reported by insiders. Still, it shows that the database must have been updated recently, at worst after July 22, 2021, for some entries.

Guess the plan to release the rest of the game at once has changed then.
Not sure I should play this now or wait for it to be finished. Chapter 1 was kind of a prologue thing, I guess the next chapter will have bigger story moments and it would suck even more to have to wait years to finish it.

Yeah, I hate, HATE, Discord bug report/technical help. It is not searchable, and even if discord chats could be searched by Google, 90% of all tech help and bug reports are in private messages.yup, absurd to see kotaku make a good point, but i agree with them here. i dont like discord, and a chat will never really replace a good forum.

Instead of a 5 minute search, I have to go to a discord, ping the bot, wait for an answer, which can take hours if the people doing the support are not working right now.
Also, it is questionable if the support is still available 2 years, 5 years or 10 years down the line. I can still look up answers in Forums 10 to 20 years later, it is not possible with Discord.
Also, most answers in Discord are vetted and approved by the company, answers and workarounds that are not liked by the company will never be mentioned.

- nintendo is gonna attend for business, nothing released yet

I am kinda pessimistic for a new SW game because (1) it's way too soon for another game and (2) I doubt the next game will be a RPG.What if....
Let's see, at least it has presence at TGS (the concert) so I am excited towards it.

Controller support is in (through steam input, just remapped keyboard controls, didn't try it), widescreen, UI size, but no AA or mipmapping (unlike old version with dgvoodoo), also its still pretty stuttery for me :-/

Yeah, it's in the back of my mind with every potential purchases these days. To expand on what I said in a thread on ERA, there are still 3-4 releases that could trigger my impulse purchase, but I will try to not buy shit. The main thing is it's just out so i'd wait a day or so to see how the reviews settle out as many seem to be placeholders which happens a lot on steam. Most of the negative reviews aren't in english either so is that a "Please release in my language!" bad reviews thing?
Anyway as with all things, check the discussion threads for a general overview of the game's state too.

It's a 2D game, right? Don't really see the issue, assuming the game is designed to show you a fixed view, then what you want to do is upscale the image in integer scale, which you can just set your GPU to do anyway. Output resolution could be 1080 but the image still looks a bit blurry to me, so maybe it's rendering lower internally. Might just be all the post processing and jpeg artifacting though.So:

That image doesn't look native to me.
(Even for what "native" entails for a 2D game obviously)
Don't think there's is much you can do at 1080p if the source image is a 2D pixel art game at 720p. The next integer scale upres (2x) would be at exactly 1440p, that would give you a sharp image again. And the next one after that (at 3 times the size) at 4k.
Alternatively the developer could try to literally increase the view you get at higher resolutions, but that might introduce tons of issues if it's possible at all.

And they all complain about a 60 fps / 720p limitation. Nothing wrong with that, and I feel bad for them. I hope it's just an oversight in the Chinese version, which can be easily and quickly fixed. Just wondering if the same is true for the other localisations? As I don't see non-Chinese...

The games does run on the Steam Deck but it does have some little freezes here and there when choosing options, but that's why devs kits are being sent.
