Community MetaSteam | November 2021 - Bienvenidos a Mexico. Sombreros no incluidos

It's nice they went back and showed Hellblade some love but:
1 - That game can't really be replayed so I'm sure this isn't for returning players. It was a hell of a first experience though;
2 - Can't they make a trailer without spoiling half the game?

Hot take: people should play games cause they're fun not because bar doesn't fill fast enough
I agree but I think the main complaint is that the progression is not skill based at all.
The game is super fun and I'm enjoying it a lot, but it's kind of a pity not seeing yourself rewarded when you score a good match

Here's an upcoming shmup, coming next year to Steam:

Does Steam support the Gyro of the DualSense natively?

How do I set it up?
I think it's best to experiment yourself to get an idea how it works. There's "native" support in the sense that you can use it in any way you want, but since there's no universal standard for all games you'll essentially have to configure Steam Input how the game should handle the gyro. Some uses it for camera, aiming, driving or cursor navigation so it'll be down to the specific game.

Start by having the controller connected (wireless or wired) and enter the configuration for your game here:

From here on, you can either create your own configuration or use a template. There's one for gyro aiming but it's predefined for using gyro when L2 is pressed (so it's useful for typical shooters). From there you can change it as you wish, how it should be activated, sensitivity and such.

There are probably more detailed guides out there on YouTube or in the Steam Community if you'd like to know more.

That JRPG port (Mary Skelter 2?) Ghostlight announced last year is now in beta so hopefully announcement soon
For context:

Let's see what obscure Japanese game they are bringing over. I would certainly take Mary Skelter 2.

Just checked it out, and they added Ray Traced reflections and shadows. The reflections look nice in scenes where you can see the water, or any kind of puddle on the ground, and the ray traced shadows sure look nicer, but neither effect changes much about the game's overall look and is actually pretty easy to miss.
Of course, the game wasn't really designed with ray tracing in mind, so I wonder whether the sequel will make more impressive use of the technology.

good news and nothing news

good news is, the laptop with windows 11 kiiiinda got fucked up by some memory allocation thing in our programming (appaaarently the TAs thought it was just an excellent idea to not tell us to use free(); when we do memory allocation BEFORE we start messing with it), so i managed to make an excuse to find this wretched laptop which has a touch screen, some clacky keyboard, probably runs slower but that won't matter, and some other stuff, but best of all: it has windows 10, so i'm all good and set there

nothing news is, i've reached the superboss of smtv that isn't the demi-fiend, and basically, i'm getting my ass kicked hard, so i gotta figure a way to do that

It shouldn't surprise me that Pathfinder wasn't nominated for GOTY since very few journalists seem to care about PC exclusives, but the fact that it wasn't even nominated for the RPG category is just...
I don't even know why I get annoyed about this when people only watch the Dorito awards for new trailers and announcements.
Usada Pekora deserves to win content creator of the year, but obviously they keep ignoring the existence of vtubers.

Ywah it seems the problem is more that I don't know how steam input works, seems I will need to deep dive, thanks.

Also wth I don´t have that button in any game.

All these LoL games are weird, but I guess someone has to use all that lore esports games load themselves with for some reason. Might get the turn based Battlechasers one.

The controller config option only comes up with a controller connected. It also might be hidden if Steam's window isn't wide enough, there should be a [...] button on the far side of that bar that you can click to show any options that're hidden.

They could have at least nominated one of leads from Guardians for best performance It was such a strong point of the game.

Also kinda of torn between it and Psychonauts 2 for best narrative.... but they will probably give it to Deathloop, which I thought was the "worst" of those three.

And now to get ready to hear/read "World Premiere" a lot (don't do a drinking game about it).

From what I remember Valve was trying to do some stuff where they make other games to expand on the Dota lore.

Yeah, I agree with you. I think we have been programmed to want gratification of a reward for doing well in games, so it definitely feels weird when it doesn't happen.
I mean yesterday I played one of the modes where you carry an orb for as long as possible - I ended up being the only one on my team to hold it (around 4mins) for victory. Got nothing, which is a bit of a downer. I have a feeling they will do something like 3rd place 100xp - 1st place 300xp in the future.

All these lackluster remasters makes me appreciate Vicarious Visions so much more.

Even though they're tied up with Blizzard, imagine if they were hired to remaster the GTA Trilogy

Instead, we ended up with GTA Reforged :negative-blob:

Thirty ... fucking ... seven ? But how many more studios can they embrace ....
Lol I'd imagine they just buy a company get the IPs re-release a game in HD for the new consoles that is at least more passable than the shit that's getting tossed out by TakeTwo or ActiviBlizzard or whathave you and they get their money back the little company that could stays in business and they're golden by farming nostalgia

I went 40/11 with 1m35s holding the skull on a game of ball mode, and still lost because my team was playing tdm and not the objective. :neutral-face:
I am so used to that kind of defeat in Splatoon... Some people just want to kill rather than sticking to the real objective.

On game awards talk, FFXIV deserves to win both categories it's nominated in easily. (Best Community Support and Best Ongoing Game)

Competition is stiff though, just by sheer numbers of players. Apex, Fortnite, Genshin... Even if you believe FFXIV deserves it, it's hard to believe the enourmous playerbases of these other games won't just drown it out.
