Oh and speaking of bugs, I have the same issue than in No Man's Sky. Every so often my xbox controller goes mad and takes the reins. Changing weapons, moving the character.
I had resolved the issue by disabling something that I, oh fuck, forgot. Steam Input ?

Not exactly the same but I had controller problems when running Jedi Fallen Order from Origin when Steam was running. Closed Steam and problem was gone. So yeah might something to do with Steam Input, try to disable it and see does it work.

Is Caedir and Mistwood considered starting areas or only Limgrave?

And yes, Li Kao , I agreed, make an OT, don't have the time for it currently, doesn't need to be a big and in-depth thing.

I've got an unexpected spare few hours today so am jumping into Elden Ring! Woo.

First thoughts - hmmm its a bit stuttery. Turned everything down to medium/low and its a bit better.

Do you still have the issue with no ghost upon touching blood ? I had the same in the intro yesterday, didn’t check if it persists upon entering the world proper, though.
Im getting this. Nothing happens when i touch a blood stain.

This happens to me, happens in any game, i think its a blutooth issue (for me). I can only fix it by turning blutooth off and on again. Its really annoying when you are in the middle of something intense and the controller starts acting possessed.

About Gabe and the Steam Deck.

It seems that he was hand delivering them to people, those people got their protective cases hand signed by Gabe himself.

He also had a camera crew with him as well it seems. (So this makes sense as to why he was hand delivering them)

So we may get to see a compilation in the near future of Gabe giving the deck to people.

Those lucky people.
it could still happen, peak should be in one hour.
Okay, we just need 15k more now.

That's pretty good PR idea from Valve.
Given all this, I think it's pretty clear that Valve is very dedicated to the SteamDeck. Unless the thing really utterly fails commercially, I don't see Valve abandoning the concept of portable PCs anytime soon.

Finished Mass Effect 3. Loved revisiting the trilogy. Even in the remaster the games are still a bit rough around the edges and the ending will always be a point of frustration but they're such a unique experience, there's nothing else like them.
I can't wait for ME4, especially after knowing how many veterans from the original game are coming back for it.
Gonna play Andromeda partly because I need more ME and also because ME4 might have references to it. I'm going in with incredibly low expectations so I doubt I'll be disappointed.

Andromeda is nowhere near as bad as it was at launch and tbh it really scratched the ME itch i had. I've finished it twice and would rather more Andromeda than just going back the OG ME but it's where the money is so i can see why they're doing it.

Ah yes, let's release multiple mediocre Pokemon entries in the same year instead of polishing a single game because quantity over quality is what people prefer.

I have no respect for Game Freak. They know they have to do the bare minimum and their games will sell in dozen of millions anyway. I thought Arceus was their only focus for the past 1.5 - 2 years, but I guess I was wrong.

Loving Elden Ring so far, the perrformance issues are overstated IMO, not had any problems on my rig.
Only just made it to the "first" boss

I was exploring Limgrave and reached Caelid, and then noped the fuck out there, the enemies were hitting really hard and some enemies poison you. So I came back to Limgrave and went through a portal that a cool looking NPC marked on my map and I went back to Caelid lol.

Now I'm exploring it mounted so I can unlock sites o grace and the local map.

Good for you, but they are not overstated. Just because you don't have a problem doesn't mean they don't exist. I myself have GTX 1060 6 GB and i7-8750H and I have to play in 720p to get 45-60 fps, stutters aside.

EDIT. Sorry, my post sounds pretentious, but it was not my intent.

Elden Ring is giving me major Dark Souls II vibes. There's something about the art direction in Limgrave that's super reminiscent of that one in particular. There's also the stonesword keys that basically serve the same function as Pharros lockstones and I can't remember if there was an equivalent item in Dark Souls III. I kinda want to say there wasn't? Makes me wonder... actually I just looked it up and one of the directors from Dark Souls II is listed as co-director for Elden Ring lol.
Dark Souls 2 is the best one so I can see why they would try to recapture that feeling.

even though the norwegian electricity crisis has stolen all of my money so the new government could fuel their rampant changes, i still have some left to make a bounty, if it's allowed

i'd paypal 20 bucks to the first person who has a steam deck with a switch emulator who can record footage of smtv running on the steam deck
20 crisp dollar bills to a person who is willing to potentially do bad things to their 399+ dollars steam deck by downloading emulators and roms to it, and then subjecting it to the workload that is smtv emulation

Didn't a Pokemon game just come out?
Well, people trip over each other to buy them even when they do the bare minimum so I guess it makes sense to just churn them out.

this time, it does look like a different type of situation, the game doesn't feel like swsh at all
it actually gives pokemon legends arceus vibes, with better graphics (but not the best), and it definitely feels like this game is gonna be much more open-world than swsh is

after considerate amounts of thinking and the fact that i have less than 160 dollars on my whole person, i have done the executive decision of decreasing this amount to 5 dollars, as well as funny pictures and videos of my dog when she was younger, something i consider a bargain considering what's at play here

also, just in case people didn't see, here's totally related pc news

THERE IS A NEW POKEMON GAME AND BASICALLY, I DON'T REALLY CARE BUT THE WATER POKEMON IS A FUCKING DUCK AND I JUST LOVE HIM
Seems like the new region is inspired by Portugal and Spain based on the map's layout, plus the english names of the starters further support this (Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly.). 👀

Between this and Legends Arceus, I would have been tempted to get a Switch if it wasn't already so late in the Switch's lifecycle, so I'm gonna wait for its successor and see if it's backwards compatible or not.

Arceus is actually a spinoff, beside the addition of the open world and the changed capture mechanics (which I hope will be in Scarlet/Violet), the combat and progression systems are very different from regular Pokémon.

The hardest part of ER is finding a good goddamn dex weapon
After 13h looking around, exploring the countryside and finding counless hammers, swords, mauls, axes and other strength scalling weapons I've finally found a katana!
... and it has D scalling in Dex... wtf???
this will have to do I guess, time to start the main quest!

On a more serious note. I'd just like to point out how amazing the design of deathbird is and how awesome it's music is. Can't remember the last time a enemy design impressed me that much the first time I saw it.

From what I saw of the buildings that's the impression that I got. That's it's based of Spain/Portugal (Mediterranean feel to it)

So for Gen 1-4 we have the games based of Japan, Gen 5 we have the US, gen 6 we have Europe with more of a focus on France, Gen 7 we have Hawaii and with Gen 8 it was UK.

What will we get with Gen 10? Something taking place in either Brazil/some other part of South America?

You can get the Katana to C scaling but you need to attach a war ash thing to it.

The katana is pretty OP by the way. Especially when you are using both hands (which is what I found myself mainly doing with it (sucks how you can't parry with it, it would be cool if you could do some Sekiro type of partying in this game.

There's just zero chance I will beat any of the bosses Ive ran into in ER, not sure where to go or what to do.
I unknowingly beelined to Margit and after a couple of tries I decided to explore and see if I could find a better weapon and some armor (I started as a wretch and was still naked when I got there). There are many smaller dungeons strewn around that have neat rewards, some world bosses to find, NPCs and side quests to do, merchants everywhere...
I explored the whole southern peninsula and thought, overall, the enemies over there are easier than in Limgrave but you can just pick a direction and go there and see what you can find.

I am currently replaying Hitman 1 and i am still blown away how good is Sapienza level. That map offers you basically everything. From tunnels to roofs, from option to kill target with a golf ball to target simply coming to you. And it is kinda big level and most importantly feels natural. That level holds so many secrets and it really is one of my favorite levels in video games ever.
